This week at Sunday Stamps we have a color challenge with bright summer colors. I decided to use a digital stamp set from Power Poppy on my card called Well Hello Dahlia. The set comes with an image of 3 dahlias in vases or just a single dahlia in a vase and I chose to go with the single flower for this card. I used copics for the yellow and the brighter red to color the flower.
For my background I took some Distress Oxide Inks along with a stencil and used the yellow and a more muted red to created my vertical stripes. My horizontal stripes were created by leaving the ink on my stencil, spraying the stencil with water and then laying it down on the card stock for a few minutes. I love the look it created!
I also created this card for the Power Poppy monthly challenge, which is to combine 2 stamp sets on your card. I used the digital set Well Hello Dahlia for the image and the sentiment is from the clear stamp set Geraniums Take Two.
Make sure and head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! There is also still plenty of time to play along with Power Poppy and their challenge so head on over there too!
Howdy Lisa,
ReplyDeleteYour card is sweet and homey! Loving the plaid background, you make me want to run out and buy some oxide paints. I've never used them. Such a sweet bouquet as well.
