Dachshund Through the Snow

I'm sneaking in at the last moment with a card for the sketch challenge over at the Inky Paws Challenge. I've been wanting to play along all week and finally got a small window of time this afternoon before I head off to work!

I decided to use the set Holiday Hounds for my card. I have 2 mini dachshunds, Anna and Elsa, and so I colored up my image to look like my Anna, who is a chocolate dachshund. I then used colors from the patterned paper I used for her sweater. For the bottom half on the middle panel I embossed with a falling snow pattern after heat embossing the sentiment in white.

Thanks for stopping by!

Make the Moose Out of Life

Sunday is Family Day around my house, our oldest comes over and we watch a movie and have dinner, but I was able to get a quick card done before he got here.

Freshly Made Sketches has a fun layout this week and thanks to the 30 Day Daily Marker coloring challenge that took in Feb I had some colored images around. I decided to create a card using one of the Newton's Nook moose I had colored up.

I used a die from MFT to create the main panel and then embossed it with a folder from SU. I then used a stitched die from Lawn Fawn to create the middle piece. That's the smooth part of the hill my moose snowboarder is hanging out on :) I stamped the sentiment in blue, cut it out with a die and then put the card together, using a Pacific Point card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

You're Snow Much Fun

I had a nice 3 day weekend spending time with my husband and going into Anchorage to celebrate our oldest sons  25th birthday so I didn't do any crafting this weekend. I decided to jump back into things by playing along with the Inky Paws Challenge, which is a sketch.

For my card I decided to use Moose Mountain (again). I really do love this set. This time though I decided to keep my moose a boy and didn't cut off the antlers (even if you color the image in feminine colors, if it still has antlers it's a boy, pet peeve of mine LOL). I went with a yellow, black and gray color scheme for my card. I just love the pop of yellow, it just seems to make everything better!

Thanks for stopping by!

Make the Moose out of Life

This week The Paper Players has a theme challenge and it is to use any type of animal on your project. I knew right away what I wanted to use....duh, a moose of course! I recently got a fabulous moose set from Newton's Nook so it was the perfect excuse to ink it up again! I got to see a moose last night after work, I was coming off of school grounds and she was on the side of the road, munching away on trees(if you follow me on Instagram I posted a video of her in my story)!

This set comes with 2 moose snowboarding. Both moose have antlers but I wanted to have a girl moose on my card so I stamped the image on my Neenah Solar White and then used my Scan N Cut to cut right along the image outline instead of leaving a white outline. This way I can cut off the antlers to make a female moose and it doesn't look funny!

I wanted bright colors since when you're snowboarding it's easy to blend in with the snow. I used Crushed Curry from SU with copics that matched to color in the outfit. To balance it out I went with Basic Gray and just a touch of Marina Mist.

My layout is from last weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches (except I added the circle sentiment).

Thanks for stopping by!

Make the Moose Out of Life

I recently got the Newton's Nook Moose Mountain set after seeing it on my friend Holly's blog. I just think these stamps are SO cute and of course they are perfect for Alaska. I did make a change to one of the stamps though....both moose come with antlers and of course everyone knows that only male moose have them, female moose do not have a rack. Therefore I used my Scan N Cut to cut the image directly around the black outline and then I was able to cut off the antlers on the snowboarder catching air, turning it into a girl. Now I have both a male and female moose on my card!

Merry Christmas Eve!
