A Halloween Hello

Yesterday my family left the house at 8am to head to Anchorage to attend Arctic Thunder, the air show put on by the local military base. We didn't get home until 10pm so today we scrapped all our plans and decided to just veg out at home. This meant I headed into my craft room and sat down to get creative! There is still a little bit of time left on the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge so I decided to play along.

I don't usually make a lot of Halloween cards but I recently got this set from MFT and I think there will be more Halloween cards in my future this year. This set is too cute and I just love the little witch! I colored her in with copics used my Scan N Cut to cut her out. The circle is a MFT die, as is the banner that the sentiment is stamped on. I adhered it all to black cardstock and then used a stamp from SU to make the background look like a night sky.

Thanks for stopping by!

Being a Navy family we love the Blue Angels, and I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen them in my life. They never cease to amaze me though, and especially after the recent tragedy where they lost Capt. Kuss, it was good to see them flying across the sky. It was definitely the highlight of my summer!

Birthday Tweetings for Sunday Stamps

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a sketch to play along with. I decided to use a set from MFT that I recently got but had not inked up yet.

I used some retired SU DSP and colors for my card. The cage was die cut and then I popped up the birds along the cage and adhered my sentiment banner. The sentiment banner takes the place of the chevrons that are in the sketch. I'm not a fan of chevrons and that's the great thing about sketches, you can adjust them to fit your likes and dislikes!

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us!

Happy Christmas

It's been pouring down rain all day in the Wasilla area so what better excuse  to sit in my craft room and work on Christmas cards! I decided to play along with the current MFT sketch challenge and pulled out the MFT set Cool Day to create my card.

I had colored in some of the polar bears from the set for the 30 Day Color Challenge so I grabbed one and used the colors from that to create the scheme on my card, using traditional Christmas colors. The banner the sentiment is on is popped up as is the polar bear and North Pole sign.

Don Your Ugly Sweater!

It's been a bit since I have blogged but I am finally done with turning our back bedroom into my craft room and so I sat down on Thursday to create my first card in my new creative space!

I decided to play along with the Jingle Belles challenge, as it's been a while since I was able to join them. They have a great sketch for the challenge and we all know sketches are my favorite thing to play along with!

I used the MFT Comfy Sweater Die to create my card. I was originally going to use the bigger sweater on my card but the smaller sweater worked better for this sketch after I cut them out and arranged them around. You can see I altered the placement of the circle and rectangle panel just a tad to make my elements fit on there. There is also NO coloring on this card, which is pretty rare for me!

Make sure you head over to the Jingle Belles blog to play along with them!

A few pics of my new space. The window is being replaced in a few weeks and so I'll hang up the fabulous plaid valance I got when that is done, it matches my wall color beautifully.......

My sweet diabetic kitty Bismarck. We got him some stairs to climb up onto my desk and he loves looking out the window!

Stamps: Cozy Greetings, Snowfall Background (both MFT)
Paper: Cherry Cobbler (SU), Chocolate Chip (SU), Neenah Solar White, AC Patterned Paper-Merrymint
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Zig Zag Stitch Circle (MFT), Die-namics Blueprints 15, 23 and 30 (MFT), dimensionals

Glad We're Friends

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a fun sketch to play along with! I used a mix of new and old products to bring my card to life.

The bunny and bear are from an adorable set from MFT called Snuggle Bunnies. I used copic markers to color in the bunny's shirt to match the DSP. The bunny and bear are both popped up with dimensionals, as is the sentiment panel. You'll notice that my sentiment panel is going in the same direction as the tag....I tried to do it like the sketch, straight across, and I just couldn't, it bugged the heck out of me LOL That's the great thing about challenges, it's all about interpreting it the way YOU see it.

We hope you'll come over to the Sunday Stamps blog and see what the rest of the DT came up with, and then play along with us!
