Haven't Seen You in Ages

I'm trying to get back into crafty mode now that the holidays are winding down so I played along with Freshly Made Sketches

As you can see the sketch is for a square card but since I'm not really a fan of square cards I just used the sketch on a regular A2 size card. I used the Stitched Mountain Range from MFT for the large square, die cutting the top of the CS and then cutting the rest of it into a square shape. I used MFT's Tall Grassy Edge to place grass along the bottom of the square and then added the dinosaurs into the scene. I wanted my sentiment on the front somewhere so I stamped it on another piece of Crumb Cake and adhered it to the square so the sentiment was along the bottom of the little scene. My 18 year old loves dinosaurs and he gave his seal of approval to this card LOL

Thanks for stopping by and please, if you go out to celebrate for NYE do not drink and drive!

Moose Love for LMMS

Happy Thursday! Can you believe that Christmas is just a few days away? This year flew by, it's crazy. There are a lot of big moments happening in my house in 2017 so I'm looking forward to the new year and new adventures.

For today's LMMS card it's all about the love and what better image to use than a mama moose and her baby! I love that this image from LMMS portrays the moose accurately...I can't tell you how many times I've come across a moose stamp where they have it as a female moose but the image has antlers. Some stamps you can cut the antlers off to make it a female but others you can't. Cow moose don't have antlers! Anyway, I won't buy an image unless it's accurate and this moose image is spot on plus it's adorable!

I colored the image with copics and then used heart dies from SU (retired) for my heart, which I then embossed with a CB folder, The sentiment is from MFT. The light here at my place isn't very good today, this card is SO cute in person!

Make sure you head over to the LMMS blog to play along with our Anything Goes Challenge and see what the rest of the DT came up with!

Christmas Wishes

I fell behind on Christmas cards this year and so I've been scrambling the last few days to get them done. Thankfully the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches came to the rescue and I created 6 cards of this design to send out.

Thanks to the recent 30DayDailyMarker Challenge I had this sweet image of a girl and Christmas tree colored and ready to go, so all I needed to do was assemble the rest of the card. I was going through my large stash of hoarded DSP and found this paper from SU that was perfect for my card.
I cut a piece of white paper, stamped the sentiment along the bottom, embossed the top portion and then used ribbon to separate the 2 sections. The image is popped up with dimensionals. I then used some Old Olive as backing under the white panel. It's hard to see in the photo but I added clear Wink of Stella to her scarf and tights.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spotlight Flowers

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a sketch. This sketch was a little tough for me, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with the top portion but after mulling it over for a while I decided on using a background stamp from MFT and doing the spotlight technique.

I stamped the background stamp on a piece of Neenah Solar White and then cut it out to the shape and size I wanted for the top portion. I then stamped the background image again and used a circle punch to cut out an area that I would focus on. I used copics to color in the flower on the punched out section and then I colored in some of the images on the top section. The circle portion is popped up for dimension and I used the SU Woodgrain folder to emboss the card base.

Make sure you head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us. The challenge is open until Dec.30th so there is plenty of time in between holiday festivities to get crafty!

LMMS Inspiration

Happy Thursday! It's time for some Little Miss Muffet Stamps inspiration and it's even more fun this week because new images are being released today! I love the new releases and for my card I used Polka Dot Pal Brianna.

After using Word to get the image to the size I wanted I printed it out and then colored it with my copics. Next I used my ScanNCut to cut the image out and I popped it up on my card. The card base is the thick Whisper White with some patterned paper that was in the $3.00 bin at Target! It's hard to see in the picture but I used red Wink of Stella on her headband and clear Wink of Stella on her leggings.

Head on over to the LMMS FB group to see the rest of the inspiration from the DT and don't forget that the LMMS Anything Goes challenge is still open. Come on over and play along! You can find all LMMS images HERE.

A Tropical Christmas for LMMS

It's inspiration week at LMMS and I decided to go tropical. One of my good friends here in Alaska does not like winter at all. She has lived here over 30 years and a few years ago her and her husband decided to make the move to Arizona. Sadly, about a year after moving, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. Not long after that she moved back up here to be near her kids and grandkids again. However not a day goes by that she doesn't wish for hot weather and bright sun, so this card was made especially for her!

I used the LMMS images Palm Tree and Dexter Caroling. You can find them in the store HERE and HERE. People often think Alaska has penguins, so little Dexter represents my friend escaping to the tropics!

Visit the LMMS FB group and see the rest of the inspiration from the DT. Don't forget, you can still play along with the LMMS Anything Goes challenge also!

Deer Friend

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a color challenge. The image and colors definitely make me think of gingerbread, but that's not what I went with on my card. I decided to pull out one of the new Christmas sets from MFT that I haven't inked up yet.

Once again I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches as my starting point. I happened to see the sketch while I was on break at work and checking out Blogger and as soon as I saw it the idea for this card popped into my head.

I die cut out a circle and then embossed with the Softly Falling EF from SU. I stamped the deer in Baked Brown Sugar (SU retired) and the tree in Garden Green, and then colored the tree in with a copic marker. As you can see in the sketch the sentiment is on top and then the element across the bottom of the circle....I die cut 2 of these borders and just layered them to follow the sketch. I finished it all off with some Baked Brown Sugar DSP layered onto a card base of Baked Brown Sugar.

Make sure you head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

(I chose the 2 greens and the brown, with white as a neutral for my colors)

An Elf Christmas for LMMS

Happy Thursday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog and so I created another Christmas card. I used this fun image called Jr Hatter Pine...Santa needs helpers to check the list you know! You can find this digital stamp in the LMMS store HERE.

I decided to emboss a strip of white cardstock and then popped up the image against that. The sentiment is from an MFT set and I used it because it was perfect for our little elf.

Make sure you head on over to the LMMS challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT did and then play along with us!

Eat, Drink and Be Tacky

Sunday night everyone else headed to bed so I closed the door to my craft room and started to work on cards. I've accumulated some images these last few weeks due to playing along with the The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge and I used one of those images on this card.

The Paper Players has a sketch this week and when I saw it I immediately thought of the ugly Christmas sweaters I colored the other day. I picked one of them out and created my card around it. It's a bit different from most of the Christmas cards I make but it's going to be perfect for a special someone on my Christmas card list!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd like to wish all of my US followers a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are having a day filled with love, laughter and of course, good food!

Moose Wonderful Time of the Year

Happy Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hubby is in the medical field and has to work at the hospital today so we'll be having a late dinner with good friends of ours. We'll be full of lots of good food by the end of Thursday!

Today is Inspiration Day over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I used one of the new moose images, Moose Cheer, as well as a new sentiment, on my card. You can find the image HERE and the sentiment HERE.

I colored in my moose image with Copics and then used Word to recolor the sentiment. I chose an olive green to match the green in my DSP. Once I got the banner situated across my card I popped up the moose with dimensionals above the sentiment.

Make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Facebook group to see the rest of the inspiration posts and don't forget, the LMMS Anything Goes Challenge is still open!

Thanks and Giving for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this time we have a sketch for everyone.

I needed another card to send out for Thanksgiving so I grabbed the SugarPea designs set Lovely Leaves to use the large sentiment. I've used it several times this fall, I really love it! The DSP is some I've been hoarding for a few years now...SU fans will probably recognize it, it's called Spice Cake. I just love this DSP and when I saw a friend break it out recently I was inspired to dive into my hoard.

For the area the heart is in on the sketch I stamped 2 leaves and some berries and then fussy cut them out to adhere on the corner of the square. The square sentiment panel is popped up with dimensionals.

Make sure and head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us!

Winter Bull Moose for LMMS

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone has had a good week so far. I've been busy gearing up for the weekend...my youngest child is turning 18 on Sunday!! It seems like just yesterday he was entering this world and now here we are getting ready to spend the weekend celebrating a milestone birthday. If you've got little ones at home enjoy the time with them, it goes by so fast!

It's time for new images from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and can I say how excited I am over these? Moose!! That's right, moose images AND a great new Aspen Tree Forest Winter background. It doesn't get any better than that!

For my card I took the bull moose image and placed it along the aspen forest background. Here in Alaska we have Quaking Aspen trees, mainly in the Interior. When we first moved I thought, how can anyone not notice the moose among the trees? Well let me tell you, the moose blend in quite well, especially at night! I frequently have moose moving through my yard in the winter so that was the inspiration for my card. Because it's going to be a Christmas card for one of my local friends I added the pop of red against the black card base and then did some paper piercing around both edges.

If you go HERE to the LMMS store you will find ALL of the awesome new moose images, plus there are some "amoosing" new sentiments also!

Thanks for stopping by!

Here is a bull moose we saw when we did the road lottery trip through Denali National Park back in Sept. He was SO handsome and came pretty close to us, I was loving it!

Happy Christmas for Merry Monday

It's been a  long time since I played along with the Merry Monday challenge so today I joined in with their color challenge of red, white and gray.

I started hunting through my stash of paper and found this patterned paper from SEI. It works perfectly for the challenge with the white snowflakes and red background. I cut out the panel with a die from MFT and adhered it to a Basic Gray card base,

I had the North Pole sign colored and cut already so I stamped the polar bear and colored and cut him out real quick and used dimensionals to pop them up on the card. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a die cut banner.

Thanks for stopping by!

Turkey Time with LMMS

It's time for some more inspiration from Little Miss Muffet Stamps

This Thanksgiving we're going to have a full house for dinner and so I wanted to do place cards for everyone's seat at the table. This turkey image called "Hazel's Turkey" from LMMS was the perfect image to use on 3x3 cards. You can find this image HERE.

Using Word I created a document with 10 of these turkeys on a sheet of Neenah Solar White. I used my copics to color them in and then I used my Scan N Cut to get them cut all nice and pretty. I like white borders around my edges so I always set my Scan N Cut to create one.

The 3x3 card is made from Baked Brown Sugar cardstock (SU retired) and then I layers a square of some older paper I had from S.E.I. The color of the patterned paper goes perfectly with the colors I used on the turkey image! The sentiment is from MFT and was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with gold powder.

Thanks for stopping by! If you are on FB make sure and check out the LMMS FB page and don't forget, there is still time to play along with the LMMS Anything Goes Challenge, which can be found HERE.

Flamingo Birthday

Ok, I had to do one more card with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I told you I liked the sketch LOL

One of our goods friends had a birthday today, Nov.6, and so we had her over for dinner. I wanted to get a birthday card for her done so I got to work this afternoon while keeping an eye on football (GO GIANTS!). She adores flamingos....it always cracks me up that a yard in Alaska is filled with flamingo decorations but she rocks it......so I pulled out the Lawn Fawn set Flamingo Together and colored in the 2 flamingos and then used my Scan N Cut to cut them out. I used rectangles from MFT to create a shaker area and filled it with white, silver and pink colored sequins. After getting that all together I adhered the flamingos to the front of the shaker panel. The DSP is SU retired from many years ago. I saved it because I hate the color pink but it comes in handy for projects like this when pink is needed!

Stamps: Flamingo Together (Lawn Fawn), Tickled Pink (MFT-inside sentiment)
Paper: Basic Gray, So Saffron (both SU), Neenah Solar White, Tea Party DSP (SU retired)
Ink: Basic Gray (SU), Strawberry Slush (SU retired), Memento Tuxedo Black

Harvest of Blessings

My work shift during the week is overnights so I keep the same schedule on the weekends just because it's hard to try and go back and forth between night and day. Sunday morning I was still awake around 2am and saw The Paper Players new challenge come out and what perfect timing! I had a Harvest Mouse from MFT that I had previously colored sitting in front of me and I was trying to come up with a card to use it on. The Paper Players theme of 'thankful' was just what I needed!

I also played along with Freshly Made Sketches again. Can you tell that I am loving this sketch?

Stamps: Harvest Mouse (MFT)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango (both SU), Neenah Solar White, Sweater Weather DSP (SU retired)

Autumn Splendor

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a color challenge.

These colors are so nice and rich and really say autumn to me. I used the small stitched leaf die set from Lawn Fawn to create 3 leaves in 3 of the challenge colors and then popped them up on my panel. The sentiment is stamped below them in brown and the papers are from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall paper pack.

I was stumped on my layout and so when the new sketch came out at Freshly Made Sketches I knew that it was perfect for what I had swimming around in my head! It's a great sketch that I'll be using often!

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us! There is also time to get in on the fun at Freshly Made Sketches, so check them out too!

Winter Scene for LMMS

It's Thursday and that means that it is time for a new  Little Miss Muffet Stamps Anything Goes Challenge! My card this week proves that it doesn't matter if you are just starting out with digital stamps, it's very easy to get the hang of it. For this card I combined 3 digital stamps using Microsoft Word to make this scene. The reindeer image is a brand new image just being released this week and as soon as I saw it I knew it would go perfectly with this young gal and the trees.

Head on over to the LMMS Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT team created and then play along with us!

LMMS Inspiration

It's Thursday and time for some inspiration from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!

As I stated on a previous post I am well into Christmas mode so of course I had to make a Christmas card. I wanted something fun and bright so I used the Jr Hatter Belle image and colored her with traditional Christmas colors. When I think of elves I think of the little workshops they work in to create toys and this retired DSP from SU was the perfect way to bring that train of thought to life.

You can head over to the LMMS FB group to see other great inspiration from the rest of the DT , plus don't forget to head over to the LMMS blog and play along with the Anything Goes challenge!

Are You Yeti For Christmas?

Now that I'm almost done with my kitchen remodel I can focus on stamping again and so today I played along with the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players and the animal challenge at Jingle Belles (I think I channeled Lauren and her monster vibes ;) .

I recently got this new set from the latest MFT release. It's called 'Beast Friends' and I just love this yeti with Christmas lights. I've always been interested in the legend surrounding yeti's but I think over time people have made them out to be cuter than they are supposed to be, and that's ok!

We already have snow on the ground here in my part of Alaska so I am completely in Christmas mode already! I am more than "yeti" for the holiday season :)

Fall Blessings for Sunday Stamps

It's time for another challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a nice simple sketch to play along with.

I grabbed the set Lovely Leaves from SugarPea Designs and embossed the sentiment "Fall Blessings" in gold on the left side of the card front. I then used some paper I've had for years from S.E.I. to create my border on the right side of the card. It has gold on it also so ties in nicely with the gold sentiment. To help separate the 2 sections I added a strip of Old Olive, cut out with a die from MFT.

Make sure you head over to Sunday Stamps to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Only One You

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm excited because I'm finally wrapping up my kitchen remodel. I started refinishing my cabinets and painting them back in Aug and that's almost done, plus I put the new color on the kitchen walls this week so that is done. All I need to do is go get the new curtains and blinds this weekend and I'll be about done with this project, whew!

You know what else is new? This image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps! I love it because I am a total tomboy and this image could totally have been me as a kid :) I used my favorite colors on the card, blue and green. This image is called 'Uma' and is part of the Polka Dot Pals line (my favorite line, just saying, love all the images!). You can buy this image and so many more HERE.

Head over to the LMMS Challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with our Anything Goes challenge!
