Graduation Boy for LMMS

It's time for a new Anything Goes Challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog, plus there are also some new images being released today! I'm excited because all of the images are boy stamps....I love working with boy images, they are my favorite!

For my card today I am using the new Polka Dot Pals Charlie. Little Miss Muffet Stamps already have a fun female graduation image and now we have a male graduation image, wooohooo! I used the colors for the middle school and high school in my town, which is red and black.

Simple I Love You for LMMS

It's time for Inspiration Week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm keeping it simple with one of my favorite images, Polka Dot Pals Soleil, who is making the ASL sign for 'love'.

I love this horizontal cover up die, it makes it so easy to create fast and simple cards. For this card I picked out the heart patterned paper from my sash, secured it to the pink frame and then adhered that to the pink card base. The sentiment was stamped in SU Rose Red to match some of the hearts on the paper and then I used my copic markers to color in the image with colors also pulled from the patterned paper. I did pop the image up for added dimension. Super quick card with a sweet message, you can't beat that!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes Challenge is still happening over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so make sure you head on over there and play along with us! Also, stop by the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store and check out all the new images HERE.

Hops and Barley

A new Hues to Use challenge was posted over on the Power Poppy blog yesterday and as soon as I saw the colors I knew exactly what stamp I wanted to use, the Hops and Barley digital set. It's a stamp set I haven't used before but with Father's Day approaching I think it's good for some masculine cards and I love the warm hues of the challenge.

I created 2 cards, slightly changing the positioning of the stamp on each one, plus I used a different sentiment on each card. On the Hoppy Birthday card I used a lightly different green combo for the leaves than on the beer sentiment card. For the birthday card I also used my E40 copic to shade around the leaves and hops...it's a very subtle shading, I was too scared to do anything bolder LOL

I brought in the maroon shade by coloring in portions of the "Hoppy" and "Beer" letters, plus I used some retired SU Bravo Burgundy for my card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holly-Days

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge and as always it's Anything Goes, with an optional theme this week of "holly and ivy".

For my card I decided to go with the optional theme and so I used an older MFT Pure Innocence set called Holly Girl. I just love the Pure Innocence stamps, and the Christmas ones are some of my favorites!

I colored in the image and then die cut it with the oval. I wasn't sure about a layout but finally decided on a strip of patterned paper down the middle of the card base accented by green scallops. Classic Christmas colors, which is just what I love!

Make sure you head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the team created and then play along with us! You'll love it hen you have a nice big stash of Christmas cards by Thanksgiving!

Santa's Zoomin' to Town

I finally got a card done for the Power Poppy Hues to Use challenge from May 8th. I've been running ideas through my head since first seeing the colors but I was in South Carolina the week the challenge came out and then I had to get over serious jet lag the following week LOL

I thought Christmas as soon as I saw these fun bright colors and so I grabbed a set that I hadn't inked up yet, Power Poppy's Action Santa. How fun is this Santa on his scooter? I smile every time I see this image!

The patterned paper is some from S.E.I  that I've had in my stash for a while and it was the perfect color to go with the blue in the graphic. I also incorporated the blue through the scooter and the packages on the back. The red was brought in on the card base, the scallop circle and of course Santa's outfit, plus a package. The green was brought in on the strip across the middle and the Christmas tree.

Thanks for stopping by!

Life Is Meant To Be Enjoyed

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a color challenge for everyone. Once again it was the dang pink in the challenge that stumped me and I spent days just sitting at my craft desk, trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

I took down my MFT PI stamps and started going through them and when I saw the Fun in the Sun one I decided to use that. Next in line was figuring out a layout and thankfully Freshly Made Sketches has one this week that worked perfectly for the idea in my head.

I recently spent a week in South Carolina for my nephews boot camp graduation and for this Alaska girl it was HOT down there, with temps in the 90's. I was looking forward to cooling off in the hotel pool but BOO, the pools apparently don't open down there until Memorial Weekend. So not fair to us out-of-towners who are dying in the heat LOL With this card I decided to go with my thoughts of floating in a nice cool pool on a hot day....the patterned paper I used mimics the water in a pool and the pink patterned paper is the deck area around the pool.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! We'd love to see how you interpret these colors!

A Summer Hello

It's Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and there are some new images being released this week! On my card I'm using 3 of them....Polka Dot Pals Tazanna, Backyard Picnic Table and Backyard Flower Pot.

To create my card I imported the picnic table image into Word and then I added Polka Dot Pals Tazanna. I resized her and moved her around until I was happy with the way she looked against the picnic table. I thought it all looked a little plain so I decided to add the flower pot, resizing that until I was happy with it. Then I colored the image with my copics. A nice and easy scene that is perfect for a summer hello!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes Challenge is still open over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so head on over there and play along with us!

A Pop of Color with Santa

The current Power and Spark challenge over at the Power and Poppy blog is all about a pop of color....they want to see us create a black and white project with a pop of color. I thought it was going to be easy but I actually got stumped with this for a bit! I actually created a card before this one but didn't like it and started over, and this card is what came about.

I took the Flowering Santa stamp, stamped it in black and then used a rectangle die to cut it. I used red copics to color in the flowers in Santa's beard and then used my cool grays to color in the rest of Santa's beard and hair.

I cut out another die piece the same size as the image panel and situated that on the red plaid paper background (I spent last week in South Carolina and got to visit Hobby Lobby, this plaid paper is from a paper stack I got there. I wish Hobby Lobby would come to Alaska!), and then I layered the image panel across the black rectangle. I was going to put a sentiment across the front but didn't like how it blocked part of the image so just stamped an image on the inside panel instead.

Thanks for stopping by!

Super Friend for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm using Polka Dot Pals Febiana on my card. She is one of the recently released images and she comes with an "LM"on her chest or you can use the image without the "LM". On a previous card I used the image without the "LM" so with today's card I decided to use the one with it.

My local scrapbook store had this patterned paper and so I grabbed a few pieces of it, I knew it would be perfect for this LMMS image. I pulled the colors from the paper to use on Polka Dot Pals Febiana's outfit, coloring it with copics.

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog is still open, so come on over and play along with us! You could possibly win a gift certificate to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store just for playing along!

Getting Plaid With It

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge blog and as always it's Anything Goes, with the optional theme being 'plaid' this week. I absolutely adore plaid so this challenge was easy peasy for me!

I used a current Pure Innocence Christmas stamp and paper pieced her dress with some plaid Christmas paper from MFT. I then used that same plaid paper to create my banner going down the middle of the card base. On the red panel behind the image I used an older PI set to stamp the snow, I felt the red panel was just too plain without it (even though hubby liked it plain). The sentiment was heat embossed with some SU white embossing powder.

Make sure you head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! If you've been joining us since January you should have a nice Christmas card stash building up!

Best Mother Ever

Mother's Day is just around the corner and so it's time to get those cards for your mom or the mother figures in your life ready! Paper-Garden is having a fun Mother's Day blog hop and I'm playing along!

For my card I used a clear stamp from Power Poppy called Geraniums Take Two. I just love geraniums, they are one of my favorite flowers to have in my garden! I'm not a fan of the color pink but I do love it in my flowers so I made my geraniums a nice strawberry pink. Because I like darker colors I used Basis Blue card stock from the Paper-Garden for my card base, the frame around my oval image panel and for the sentiment ribbon. I like how the blue balances out the strawberry color, keeping the card feminine but not overly girly! This blue is such a lovely shade of navy, I really like it! The Paper-Garden very generously sent me quite a few shades of their card stock to try out and let me tell you, I'm loving the blues and greens! (I'll post more about their card stock when I get back from my trip to the Lower 48!)

To finish off the card I heat embossed the sentiment (from an older SU retired set) on the banner and popped it up with dimensionals. I added the gems on each side just to give it a little extra "oomphhh".

Head on over to Paper-Garden, check out all the entries and then I'd love it if you voted for my card! You can vote at the bottom of the page, you'll see my blog, Snowy Moose Creations, in the drop down menu!

Just for You

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a fun sketch courtesy of Annette! It took me a while to think of how to use the circle but when I saw the colors for the current Hues to Use over at the Power Poppy blog I knew I wanted to combine the 2 challenges.

I used the Dahlia XL clear stamp from Power Poppy and colored it in with the peach and pink colors and then I used 2 circle dies from MFT to cut the inner and outside circles. I popped the inner circle up with dimensionals to get the distinction between that and the outer ring. I layered the circles on some SU DSP and for the "any shape" portion of the sketch I made a sentiment banner and then to finish off the bottom portion of the sketch I used some retired SU Calypso Coral ribbon.

The green in the color challenge was brought in with the DSP going across the bottom and in the middle of the flower. My peach color is a bit brighter than the photo so hopefully it still works!

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! You can also play along with the Power Poppy Hues to Use challenge....a new one is posted every Tuesday but the links are open ended, so you can play along any time you want, there is no deadline!

ASL Love You for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I'm using one of my favorite new stamps, Polka Dot Pals Peter. I am so thrilled that Little Miss Muffet Stamps has added this male image doing the ASL sign for 'I love you'!

I decided to go with some cool colors this time around, nothing bright. My colors were pulled right from the retired SU DSP that I used. I really like the gray with the Lost Lagoon color!

Acorn Ornaments Christmas

For this card I'm playing along with the Power Poppy Hues to Use from last week. I love these colors, nice and dark and masculine, but I was stumped on how to use them. I kept scrolling through my Power Poppy digital stamps and pulling out my clear stamps but nothing jumped out at me. It wasn't until I was at the movie theater watching Infinity War and a character said a line that got me thinking and boom, I went home and printed off the Acorn Ornaments digital stamp. Inspiration comes from the funniest places sometimes!

I tried to get the 2 different blues on the acorns but they ended up looking pretty similar so I tried to bring in the lighter blue by using some retired Not Quite Navy DSP from SU. The other papers I used are Baked Brown Sugar, also retired, and soon-to-be retired Night of Navy (I'm crying over this, I love that blue!). I used a silver gel pen on the hooks and ribbon to bring a little sparkle to the image.

My layout is from the sketch posted last week at The Paper Players. Since I had die cut the acorns in a circle it was perfect to use. The sentiment is from the clear set Rustic Rejoicing.
