Get Wool Soon for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a pretty mellow color challenge. I thought about the direction I wanted to go for a bit and then decided to use the digital set Get Wool Soon from Power Poppy.

My favorite teacher from the school I work at fell outside the school doors on the 21st and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. She ended up with staples in her head plus a concussion and orders to stay in bed for Christmas break. Since the earthquake and consolidating with the high school I haven't seen her but wanted to let her know I was thinking about her and so this card was made just for her.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my layout, turning the oval like one of their DT members did. From the Sunday Stamps color graphic I actually managed to use all 5 colors!

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! You also have time to play along with FMS until the 31st at 3pm EST!

Make the Moose Out of Life

I recently got the Newton's Nook Moose Mountain set after seeing it on my friend Holly's blog. I just think these stamps are SO cute and of course they are perfect for Alaska. I did make a change to one of the stamps though....both moose come with antlers and of course everyone knows that only male moose have them, female moose do not have a rack. Therefore I used my Scan N Cut to cut the image directly around the black outline and then I was able to cut off the antlers on the snowboarder catching air, turning it into a girl. Now I have both a male and female moose on my card!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Joy to the World

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this time we have a fun sketch from Heather!

I had colored a bunch of images for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge and I was finishing up the challenge when the earthquake hit and then I got even more behind. I brought several of these images to work with me the other night and colored them on my break and lunch and when I started working on my card for this challenge I realized this image would be perfect for the sketch!

The paper is from a pad that I bought at Hobby Lobby in May when I visited South Carolina. The image is a new digital stamp from Power Poppy, isn't it fabulous?  I used my copics to color it in.

Winter Colors for LMMS

I'm still alive! Sorry for the lack of posts but on Nov.30 my area was hit with a 7.0 earthquake and while my home was spared any damage the school I work at was pretty much destroyed and today we combine with our high school next door to become a 6-12 school. There's been a lot of stress and upheaval the past few weeks and things are finally (hopefully) settling down!

There's a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and I pulled out one of my favorite go to stamps this holiday season, Holiday Truck. I used colors that I normally wouldn't think about it (I'm not a purple fan) but I recently bought some paper pads at Michaels (70%off, woohoo!) and these colors were pulled straight from these papers.
