Friday Mashup #24

Its time for another challenge over at Friday Mashup and this time its a color challenge from Terry. I LOVE these colors! Old Olive and Real Red are one of my favorite combos and the Marina Mist goes great with them!
Its the day after Christmas and I was sitting here thinking about all the thank you cards we need to send to family so I thought I better get going on that, so here is a 'thank you' made with this weeks color challenge.

I used Real Red for the base color and then used the spiral punch on some Old Olive cardstock. The images are from the Aviary set and were stamped on Whispered White, which was they layered on some Marina Mist. The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and I used the Modern Label punch to cut it out and then I popped it up with dimensionals to give the card some pop..I dont have any Marina Mist ink right now(bad me!) so I used Pacific Point to stamp a bird and to sponge the edge of the Marina Mist cardstock.

Supplies(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps-Aviary, Small Script
Paper- Real Red, Old Olive, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink- Old Olive, Real Red, Pacific Point
Accessories- Modern Label punch, Spiral punch, sponge, dimensionals

Mashup Sketch

I keep telling my friend Holly, who is one of the great gals that runs the Friday Mashup blog, that I'm going to start stamping again and work on their challenges. I havent kept my word on that and I feel bad about it. I know my dad would want me to do the things that make me happy but grief is a hard thing and I'm working through things one day at a time. For the new year I am pledging to get back on the stamp train and start getting a good stash of cards again. I started today with the challenge from the Mashup blog, which was a sketch from Holly.

The card base is Early Espresso and the stamp is from the set A Wish for Peace. I stamped it on Whisper White in Always Artichoke. I then used some Frost White shimmer paint on it to make it look like snow sparkling on the trees. The 1 3/8" circles were punched out of Deck the Halls DSP and ribbon in Always Artichoke finished it off.

Stamps: A Wish For Peace
