Festive Moose for LMMS

It's time for a new Anything Goes challenge over at the LMMS blog and for my card I'm featuring the LMMS image Moose Jingles. We all know I love moose and LMMS has some great moose images! You can find Moose Jingles HERE in the LMMS store.

For my layout I used last weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and the sentiment is one I have in my stash that I've had for a few years.

Head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Simple Joys

For today's card I played along with the sketch at The Paper Players and the colors are from the current Power Poppy Hues to Use challenge.

I pulled out the Power Poppy set Simple Joys. I just love this image! If I didn't think my cat and dogs would destroy it I would totally have a decoration like this over by my wood stove! I think my puppies would view it as an open invitation to wreak havoc though LOL

I turned the sketch and instead of a ribbon I just used the pattern on the red patterned paper to fill in as that element.

Thanks for stopping by!

Don't let those sleepy faces fool you! Anna and Elsa are 7 months old and full of mischief :)

Merriest Wishes on Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! I hope you are having a day filled with love, laughter and lots of good food!

Today is Thursday and that means it's Inspiration Week over at the LMMS blog! I used PDP Jessica again this week, I just think this is such a cute image! She can be colored up to fit any occasion, not just Christmas!

I don't know about everyone else but I've been going in a million directions for weeks now and so I wanted a simple card to make, one where I didn't really have to think about the design. After staring at my stamps for a bit I grabbed a set from SU to create my streaks of color in the background and then popped up PDP Jessica above them. The sentiment is from MFT.

Make sure and head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget that the Anything Goes challenge is still open, so play along with us!

A Plaid Christmoose

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge! This week I went with a plaid scheme along with a moose, 2 of my very favorite things! We already have about 6 inches of snow at my place and the moose have been visiting my yard but they're being elusive, and coming through at night. I wake up to find their tracks going through the yard. Hopefully they'll start showing up during the day so I can enjoy them!

I really love how bright these green is, it just makes such a happy Christmas card!

Head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! The theme is always Anything Goes, but this week you also have the optional theme of monochrome if you'd also like to try that!

A Christmas Dinosaur

I first saw this Christmas dinosaur digital stamp on Instagram and knew I had to have him and the other 2 Christmas dinosaurs the designer, Three Room Studio, has in her Etsy shop. My boys have always loved dinosaurs but my 19 year old REALLY loves them so I made this card with him in mind. We both agreed that since neither one of us like coffee or tea that the dinosaur is drinking hot chocolate :)

I cut up a sentiment from SU's No Bones About It set and paired it with a sentiment from MFT to get my dinosaur Christmas greeting.

Joy to the World

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a fun sketch from Monika. Usually I'm pretty literal when it comes to sketches but I went a little broad with my interpretation, as I had a certain idea running through my head.

I used a die from SU's Hometown Greetings Edgelits that has 3 houses, along with a tree. For the sketch I'm using the houses as the squares, and then I placed the sentiment below the first few houses. Instead of placing 3 embellishments under the sentiment I decided to emboss the bottom of the scene with snow, making those my circles from the sketch.

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see how the rest of the DT interpreted the sketch and then play along with us, we'd love to see your take on it!

Poinsettia Christmas

For this card I played along with the current Freshly Made Sketches and the Portion Control Challenge at Power Poppy. The circles in the sketch were the perfect way to bring in the leaves of the poinsettia and the pomegranate berries, plus cutting off some of the image filled the bill for portion control.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Banner for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the LMMS blog plus there are some great new images being released in the LMMS shop today! I used one of those images on my card today, her name is Polka Dot Pals Jessica. How cute is she? I just love her hair and the banner can be used for any occasion.

I decided to go with a Christmas card and so I picked out some retired SU DSP from my stash and pulled from those colors to color my image. Because I used snowflakes in the window insert I decided to color my banner to match that and then used a white gel pen to add snowflakes to it. I used a scrap I had to stamp the sentiment and place it across the bottom portion of the card.

Head on over to the LMMS blog to join in our latest challenge and head on over to the FB group for conversation and to show off any projects you are working on! You can find all the new images in the LMMS store HERE.

Wintertime Wishes

I'm still playing catch up and today's card is for Power Poppy's Hues to Use from Nov.7. This one had me stumped for a while because of the pink in it. I don't care for pink and so when I'm faced with using it my brain tends to shut down LOL It was actually another crafter who submitted a card for this that inspired me, you can see Camille's card HERE.

I used the digital stamp set Stand Here and then cut it out with my Wonky Stitched frame from Avery Elle. I grabbed my copics that I felt matched these colors and colored my image in. I wanted to add a sentiment across the front but didn't want anything too big so I opted to use a sentiment from the Power Poppy clear set Cozy Cupfuls.

I wanted the berries to be white with a hint of pink so I colored the edges in with pink and left the centers the lighter color. I then went over the centers with a Wink of Stella white pen so when it dries the white will pop more. I used a T5 to go over the green on the stems to give them a darker appearance from the leaves.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bottlebrush Christmas

I made this card on Thursday but got busy with my family and completely spaced posting it, ooops!

I'm behind on playing with my favorite challenges so I'm playing catch up with some of them. This card was made for one of the recent color challenge at Power Poppy and their Hues to Use. The colors to use are a plum, olive green and a chartreuse green. I wasn't sure what to do with these colors at first but after staring at all my Power Poppy stamps for a while I went with the Bottlebrush Holiday set. I think this group of trees is so fun!

To bring in the plum I colored in the ornaments with the deep color, and I also tried to go for a plum color with my background paper. I really didn't have anything that color so the red I used is a bit different but I think it still works! The olive green is the trees and the background paper with the brighter green brought in on the garland and some of the ornaments.

If you haven't checked out the Hues to Use challenge you really should! The inspiration photos are always gorgeous and their guest designers always show off some great cards!

Christmas Greetings for LMMS

Did everyone stop by the LMMS FB page this last week to check out the introduction of the news PDP faces? If you didn't you sure missed some awesome inspiration from some great people! I was really blown away by the samples that were posted and the faces are definitely a must have!

This week it's Inspiration Week over at the LMMS blog and I have a Christmas card featuring a teen too cool for Christmas....it's a digital stamp called Casper Silvermist Too Cool for Christmas and he is part of the Honeycloud Teens series. I've got 3 boys, all grown now, but at one time or another I have definitely seen them act like they were too cool for Christmas :)

Make sure and head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget the Anything Goes challenge is still open, so come play along with us!

Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Wednesday! I'm excited to announce that I've joined the team over at The Merry Christmas Challenge! Anyone who has frequented my blog knows that Christmas cards are my favorite type of card to make so being able to be a part of this team makes me super happy!

My first card as a member of the team is a masculine Christmas card, for a young boy or teen. The great thing about it is it can be used as a Christmas card, a winter card or both, depending on when in the season you want to send it.

After coloring in this older Pure Innocence image I was trying to decide on my frame color. I already had the patterned paper picked out so I needed to tie it all together. I made one blue frame, one brown frame, created the cards and then polled my family and friends LOL Surprisingly it was pretty evenly split...half of them liked the blue frame and half of them liked the brown frame! I ended up making 3 of each color so everyone was happy :)

Are you working on your Christmas cards? Head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge and play along with us! The theme is always Anything Goes with an optional twist, and this week the twist is "snow". I incorporated that with my boy image holding snowballs. What would you create for a snow theme? Come on over and show us!

Just for You Dahlia

This month at the Power Poppy blog Cindy Lawrence is the host for the Power and Spark Challenge and it's all about portion control. She wants us to use only portions of images, no full images allowed. Pretty fun idea!

I instantly thought of the Dahlia XL image for my card and I decided to use a retired die from SU to create my portion control. I cut out the die first and then stamped the image across it. By doing this the outer side edges of the flower were cut off, leaving the center as the main focus of the card. If I had chosen a smaller die I could take off even more of the outer petals but I really liked how this die looked with the dahlia so decided to keep it as is.

I colored the image in with some orange copics and then decided to use some orange and black papers for the background to carry the color scheme. I wanted a sentiment on the front but didn't want it to be too overwhelming so I stamped the "just for you" on a strip of white and then cut it to create a small banner.

Thanks for stopping by!

Candy cane and Berries

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a color challenge going on. I had to stare at these colors for a bit before my wheels started turning, and I decided to use a new stamp set from Power Poppy for my card.

The set is called Berry Sweet Holiday and I used the orange/red color, the pink and the green on my card.

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! We'd love to see how you use these colors!
