Big Sexy Leaves

I can barely get into my craft room right now thanks to a home improvement project we have going on (my craft room is where we pushed a bunch of stuff out of the way....every room in the house is a disaster!) but I had to make a path so I could play along with the current Creative Confetti challenge, which is to create card using a large and bold image as your focal point. The fabulous background stamp Big Sexy Leaves immediately came to mind!

Because I have zero crafting time at home right now I stamped the image and then took it to work with me and colored it on my breaks and lunch hour. Then on Saturday night I managed to follow my path in the craft room and grabbed my Cuttlebug to cut the image out. I put it on a black card base and then stamped my sentiment and backed that panel with some black also. I love those ferns?? to the right of the sentiment and wanted to make sure plenty of those stayed visible, so I kept the sentiment down towards the left corner more.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge featuring masculine colors!

I decided to make a Father's Day card featuring a set from SU called Geared Up Garage. I used 5 of the colors from the graphic....the red for the car, the green for the sentiment, the black for the gears,  the darker tan for the card base and then the lighter sand color was used for the background behind the images and sentiment. There was no coloring for this card, just stamp, die cut and place on card!

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with these colors!

Stamps: Geared Up Garage (SU)
Paper: Crumb Cake (SU), Basic Black (SU), Poppy Parade (SU), Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tranquil Tide (SU), Sahara Sand (SU)
Accessories: Garage Gears Thinlets (SU), dimensionals

Roll the Dice

This weeks Creative Confetti Challenge over at the Power Poppy blog is a fun one! Julie wants us to roll a dice to find out what we are to do, she has listed various challenges to go with each number on the dice. I made a video of me rolling the dice so no one can yell cheater LOL but I don't know how to post it, so until I figure it out trust me when I say that I got number 6, which is to CASE a card that you previously made. *I figured out how to post the video, woooohoo LOL*

I decided to CASE this card that I made back in January. I just really like the overall simplicity of it. What can I say, I like simple! This time I used some retired DSP from SU that goes with this Power Poppy stamp of my favorite mushroom perfectly.

All Caught Up

All caught up is definitely not me right now LOL I am behind on challenges, my house is a disaster as I get ready to dive into projects and my anxiety is through the roof! I made myself make time to finish this card today though. I've had it colored and ready to put together for a few days, I just needed a little extra push!

The Creative Confetti challenge over at the Power Poppy blog was a sketch last week and I love sketches! I used the digital set Fly Guy for my card and colored it with various copics, then used some patterned paper in my stash to create a Father's Day card.

Thanks for stopping by!

One Layer Father's Day

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this time it's a sketch and I'm the host!

I'm a pretty simple kind of gal when it comes to cards and so with this sketch I was going for a one layer card. I originally planned on doing a big flower in the corner but decided to go with this trout image from Power Poppy instead. This is one of my favorite images to use for masculine cards, especially since my hubby loves to fish and I love to eat the fruits of his labor :)

I lined up the image and sentiment in Word the way I wanted it and then I printed it out and colored it with copics. Nothing fancy, just print and color. I sent the finished card image to my youngest son, who loves to fish just like his dad, and he gave me his approval on the trout!

The DT has some terrific interpretations of the sketch so make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see their creations and then play along with us, I'd love to see how YOU interpret the sketch!!

Reason to Smile

I've had zero mojo lately, spending my time just staring at my desk and not really having any desire to do anything. I think part of my problem is that it's just about the end of the school year and for me that means tons of projects to do around the house since I have a month off. We're going to be ripping out the carpet and installing tile flooring so my house is in shambles right now as I start to prepare for that....I think the anxiety from having stuff shoved here and there and knowing I have to move this and that is messing with my head big time!

To force myself to work on this funk I decided to play along with current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I've got a huge pile of various images that I colored during the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge and need to make into cards so I grabbed one of those images for my card.

I used some retired SU DSP for the top half of my card and the card base is Flirty Flamingo. I sponged the edges of the DSP with Sahara Sand because the stark white edges bother me LOL I die cut an oval out of Sahara Sand, popped the image up on it and then heat embossed the sentiment in white.
