Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It's not exactly an embellishment but I immediately thought of this retired SU DSP that I have in my stash, it has a silver metallic background and I thought it would look great against the Glistening Paperwhites stamp. I used copic markers to color the image, pulling colors from the DSP pkg that I used. I then used a silver metallic gel pen to add some streaks on the flowers and then added a Smoky Slate ribbon with silver accents to finish it all off. Hopefully this all counts for using something metallic on my project. I couldn't get a good photo of all the sparkle on the card so I took a short video.

Glad to Have You

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun sketch from Annette!

For my card I used a fall bundle coming out in the SU Holiday Catalog Sept.4th called Gather Together. I started with a base of Pretty Peacock and then used one of the stamps in the set to make the pattern coming out from around the leaves and sentiment. The largest leaf was stamped in Cajun Craze on matching card stock and then cut out with a die, while just a die was used for the 2 smaller leaves. The strip of DSP going down the right edge is from the DSP that matches this bundle, I just love this pattern and the colors in it! The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White and popped up with dimensionals over the leaves.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Happy Fall Y'all

With leaves on the ground and our birch trees looking sad (drought and leaf miners) I've got autumn on the mind. I took this image to work with me last night and colored it up on my breaks and lunch and got the card put together today. I love this Power Poppy image!

I Love Winter

I'm cutting it close with getting a card in for week 2 of the 400th sketch celebration at Freshly Made Sketches. This one had me a bit stumped but I finally went with one of the ideas I had.

I used the Lawn Fawn set Yeti, Set, Go for my card. I colored up the yeti in a very soft blue and gray and then colored up some trees to go behind him. I stamped the sentiment in black and then colored in the heart. I'm all about winter right now....my part of Alaska has had the warmest summer on record and we are in a mild drought. This weekend we had wind kick in and our fire crews are working around the clock as we have 2 major wildfires burning north of the town I live in, the closest one about 20 miles away as the crow flies. We really need cool weather and rain for this area and lots of snow this winter.

Thankful for You

Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 400th sketch by taking it back to the very sketch that started it all, sketch #1. I looked through my blog to see if I had played along with the very first sketch but it looks like I didn't jump in with FMS until sketch #2, but still, I've been playing along with them since the beginning!

To play along with the throwback sketch I decided to pull out an MFT Pure Innocence fall stamp. I just love coloring the PI images, they are so sweet. The colors of the girls clothing were pulled directly from the colors in the DSP. After coloring the images I adhered the background panels to a Crumb Cake card base with various patterned paper used for the layers on the card. I added the tree to the left edge of the square layer and then popped up some leaves on the branches. Then I adhered the girl over the square image. The tree is supposed to be the heart element in the sketch and the girl is jut a bonus image to go with my scene.

Thanks for stopping by!

Moose Greetings

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this time we have a fun color challenge! The colors give off a summer feel but of course I had to Lisa-fy them ;)

I decided to go with the 3 bottom colors for my card and went with a winter theme, using a new set from SU that will be available in the Holiday Catalog. It's called Merry Moose and of course I had to have it! You can get the bundle, which consists of the stamp set and a punch to cut out the moose, so that's what I got.

I used the brown for the base of my card and for the moose. I stamped the 2 tree images from the set (a big tree and a smaller tree) in Pretty Peacock on some Whisper White, die cut it into a circle and then adhered the moose to it. I used a pop of yellow for the moose's scarf, as well as in a strip of DSP across some Pretty Peacock DSP. I love the unique winter look these colors give this card!

Make sure you stop by the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you interpret these colors!

Hoppy Birthday on Kraft

It's time for a new Creative Confetti Challenge and this week Julie wants us to use kraft colored card stock as the base for an image. I think I've colored on kraft with copics once before so this is only my second time trying it.

I was going to use a Christmas image and go for a rustic look but I decided to use the O Hoppy Day clear stamp set instead, as I thought the image would be a good one to pair with kraft card stock.

I colored my image with copics and then cut out a panel with a die from MFT. I liked the green of the patterned paper against the green of the leaves in the image so I used that as the layer behind the image panel, with kraft card stock as the base of the card. I stamped the sentiment in the upper left and used a green copic to color that in. It was a very quick and easy card to put together, my favorite type of card LOL

Hello, My Pretty

I have several Halloween images that I colored during the various Daily Marker 30 Day challenges so today I decided to start going through my stash and getting some cards created with them.

This image is a retired Pure Innocence stamp from MFT. Such an adorable witch! I had found a Halloween paper pad from JoAnn's last year and it had the perfect paper to use on my card.

Painted Pumpkins

I'm sneaking in with a card made for the current Creative Confetti Challenge over at the Power Poppy blog. This time Julie kept it easy and all we had to do was create a project using any Power Poppy image! I've had this image of pumpkins sitting on my desk for a few weeks now so it was the perfect motivation to get it colored up!

I colored the image with copics and then used some paper from a paper pad in my stash. I kept it simple as usual by not adding any embellishments or anything like that. Those who have been by my blog before know that I'm not much of an embellishments person.

I'm glad I was able to get this card done before the next Creative Confetti challenge goes live tomorrow, whew!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Treat For You

I haven't crafted all week, I'm usually too exhausted when I come home from work, but today I made time to play along with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I need to build up my Halloween supply so I once again grabbed the MFT set Fab-Boo-lous Friends.

I didn't make a square card but that's the only thing I changed about the sketch. I used a retired SU set to create the colored squares and then I colored my images with copics and then popped them up with dimensionals on the squares. I stamped the sentiment in black and kept that nice and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!
