Truck Harvest for LMMS

Sorry for the late post. We had our internet upgraded yesterday and then the net went out last night and we just got it back a little bit ago. Story of my life LOL

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I'm using another of the new Pick Me Up Truck images, the Harvest one. I've already got fall on the brain so I pulled out some retired SU DSP to use and that's where I pulled my colors from.

The Paper Players has a great sketch this week and that's what I used for my layout.

For All You Do

Woooo, talk about getting a card done at the last minute! I got this card into the FMS link with 5 mins to spare, whew!

When I went to SC in April for my nephews boot camp graduation I just had to make a trip to Hobby Lobby since we have none in Alaska. I would have been in there all day if I could have! They had lots of stamps on clearance and this patriotic stamp is one that I picked up. My cousins stepson is currently attending the same boot camp my nephew just graduated from so I'm making her a bunch of cards to send to her stepson to help encourage him.

The stars across the bottom are from a Unity Co stamp, it went perfectly with the sketch.

Strawberries and Cake for Hues to Use

I'm playing catch up on the Power Poppy Hues to Use challenges so I used a newly released digital stamp to play along with the hues from June 12. As soon as I saw the Tea Cake with Strawberries set I knew I wanted to use it with these colors!

I decided to make the frosting the pink color, and also brought in the pink on the cake stand and the polka dots on the cup. The yellow was brought in on the cake, teacup, lemon and the center of the flowers. The green is the leaves and the doily under the cake. I had to add some red to color in the strawberries and then a gray tone on the cake stand.

Waiter, There's a Parakeet in my Teacup

If you didn't see, Power Poppy just had a HUGE digital blitz on Monday, adding 11 new digital images, plus another one was added today! I was like a kid at Christmas, I kept checking my computer all day on Monday to see what new images were being added. As a flower and nature lover Power Poppy stamps, both clear and digital, speak to my soul, I adore them!

I'm behind on the Hues to Use challenges by 2 weeks so I used one of the new digital images to play along with the colors released this week.....except there weren't any actual colors given to us. That's right, a photo was posted and this time WE get to choose the 3 colors from the photo that we want to use on our project. I decided to go with my top 3 favorite colors....blue, green and yellow.

The image I used is Waiter, There's a Parakeet in my Teacup and I just love it! I don't have the clear set it's from so I love that it was made into a digital stamp! I decided to go with a blue parakeet, as we had one when I was just a little kid. My parents named it Sam because they didn't know if it was a boy or girl and that name can go either way LOL I then used the 3 colors in the teacups and the plates. The patterned paper is some retired SU DSP that I've had forever. The yellow on my image is a tad brighter than the DSP but that's ok.

Simple I Love You for LMMS

Geez, I don't know if my brain is really that scattered or if my days are running together but I didn't get my Inspiration Post for Little Miss Muffet Stamps up this morning, oooops! You'd think being on vacation that my brain would be in better shape LOL

It is time again for Inspiration Week and this week I went back to one of my favorite images, Polka Dot Pals Rosalie. She is part of the ASL series of digital stamps at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and she is making the ASL sign for 'I Love You'. I used a die from My Favorite Things to create the background and while I did consider a sentiment I decided to leave it off, letting the image speak for itself!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so head on over there and play along!

Holiday Cheer for Someone Deer

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge blog and as always it's Anything Goes, with an optional theme of 'memories' this week. I decided to just do the Anything Goes portion.

I used the sketch from MFT Stamps that just ended to get started with my card, and then I pulled out the MFT set Deer Friends. I pulled all my colors from the paper, with the brown of the deer being my neutral color. The sentiment was heat embossed in white.

Nothing But Happiness Slider Card

We have a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week it's a color challenge with some bright tropical hues!

For my card I decided to make a slider card using the Stampin Up set Barn Door. It was first in the Occasions Catalog this year and then was put into the new catalog, which just came out June 1. I haven't done a slider card in many, many years, plus I needed 4 cards for a swap so I figured I'd give it a try.

I decided to use black as my card base and then I did the main panel in Melon Mambo. I thought it looked plain so I used my Simply Scored board to put lines across it for texture. I thought it looked so much better after I did that! The door was heat embossed with white on black card stock and I incorporated the green by putting a wreath on the door, adding more pink with the flowers. I also added pink hardware on the door to tie it all together.

Make sure to head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you interpret these colors!

Patriotic Truck for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and we also have some new images being released today. I'm super excited about these new digi's, they are SO cute! For my card I'm using a  new image called Pick Me Up Truck with the Celebrate option. As a (retired) military family with many family and friends still serving I'm always on the look out for new patriotic images and this one is perfect for sending for a patriotic holiday or just to say hello.

I printed my image out to the size I wanted and then cut it with the circle die. After coloring it with my copics I adhered the image panel over some patriotic paper that I had adhered to a white card base. The sentiment is from a Taylored Expressions set and I stamped that in red.

Make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! You can find all the new images HERE in the store. Have fun!

New House Congratulations

It's time for Inspiration Week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week my card is a congratulations card for friends of ours that are moving into a new house in a few weeks. Since they moved back to FL from AK a year ago they've been renting and they haven't been too happy with the house, so they are beyond thrilled to be moving into their brand new home. They just need the certificate of occupancy and can start hauling stuff to the new place!

For my card I used the Backyard Houses Garden set. I added the 2 chairs to the front yard and flipped one of the chairs so it would face the other one properly. My friend and I both love the color blue so that's why I went with that color, plus several rooms in their new place have been painted blue.

I wanted to keep the card pretty simple but the plain white card base was bothering me so I used a retired SU embossing folder to create the cloud background. I like the texture it created and the background didn't seem so stark to me anymore.

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so make sure you head on over there and play along with us! We also have a Little Miss Muffet Stamps FB group so go on over and check that out too!

Merry Christmoose!

Boy, switching to day shift at work has me all confused! I don't know what day I thought it was but it's Weds and that means there is a new challenge up at The Merry Christmas Challenge blog, and I should have posted first thing this morning. Oooopsie!

It's an Anything Goes challenge as always, with this week having polka dots as an optional theme. I love polka dots so I included the optional theme on my card.

I used one of my favorite stamps, this moose from the Merry Christmoose set from SugarPea Designs. How cute is he (and yes, it's a he, female moose don't have antlers!)? I colored him with my copics and then grabbed some retired DSP out of my stash that had matching colors. The polka dot paper goes with his scarf perfectly and I carried the theme by embossing the brown panel with a large polka dot pattern. The layout is from last weeks Sketch Saturday.

Make sure and head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! There is only 29 weeks until Christmas :0)

Sweet Things for Hues to Use

It's still Monday here in Alaska so I'm getting the weekly Hues to Use over at Power Poppy done in time, wooohoo! The links are open ended but I like to push myself to get each challenge done before they post the next color combo. It doesn't always happen but I try!

This weeks colors are 2 grays and a rich yellow so I decided to go with the digital set Sweet Simple Things. The beehive is obviously going to be yellow but then I also decided to make the foxglove and cosmos yellow. There are yellow varieties of those flowers, I just don't think they're as popular as their pink/purple counterparts.

To bring in the gray I colored the stand the beehive is on with my cool grays and then I used SU Basic Gray as my card base. I had printed the main image out with the sentiment slightly below it so I trimmed the paper down, rounded the top corner edges, adhered it to the card base and then added a ribbon across the middle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mushroom Love for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week Amy has a fun sketch for us! I changed the orientation of it to work with my image though, as I recently got a new stamp set and wanted to ink it up!

Power Poppy recently had a new release of 11 clear sets and this fabulous mushroom set was part of it. It has 8 mushroom images and 2 sentiments, and one of the images is of my favorite mushroom, the Fly Agaric. We get it all over the woods around my house and I call it the Alice in Wonderland mushroom. It's one of my favorite things to photograph in the woods so I was super excited to see this set.

I kept everything about this card pretty simple, which is how I like it. I was going to use a thinner ribbon but I had to rearrange part of my craft room before Christmas and my ribbon is scattered at the moment and I couldn't find what I really wanted, therefore I used some retired SU Real Red ribbon. The image panel is also popped up for added dimension.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! We'd love to see how you interpret the sketch.
