Seeing Three

I'm squeaking in with a card for the Jingle Belles challenge, which closes tomorrow. They want to see 3 of something on our project, so I went with 3 deer.

The layout is an older sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and it's supposed to be 3 circles across the front panel. Instead of circles I used deer from the SU set Dashing Deer. I stamped and die cut one and then just die cut the other 2 out of some card stock. I embossed the Crumb Cake panel and adhered that to some patterned paper I got at my local stamp store. I put all of that on a Chocolate Chip card base and then adhered the 3 reindeer to the front and called it good LOL

Stamps: Dashing Deer (SU)
Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU retired), Crumb Cake (SU), Very Vanilla (SU), Simple Stories Sweet Vintage Christmas PP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler (SU), Chocolate Chip (SU retired)

Christmas Cheer

Today's card was made for 2 challenges....Jingle Belles is to use something new we got for Christmas and The Paper Players has this great sketch.

Other than copics to finish off my collection Santa didn't bring me anything specifically stamping related so for my card I used this new Christmas set from MFT that I bought before Christmas with intentions to make cards for it and well, after the earthquake I didn't get much stamping done so this is the first time it's seen ink.

For the sketch I added a Santa and a reindeer to the circle portion and then heat embossed the sentiment on a banner just below the 2 images.

Thanks for stopping by!

Reindeer Greetings

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge and as always it's Anything Goes, however this week the optional theme is reindeer. I love reindeer so I had no problem making that the focus of my card!

The reindeer is from the MFT set Merry Everything and I used the MFT Diagonal Cover Up die to create a quick and easy card. I just pick some patterned paper that I like for the background, adhere that to the cover up and then just add my image and sentiment. Easy peasy and perfect for mass producing cards!

Make sure and head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! Get ahead on your Christmas cards for 2018 and make more time for other fun stuff come December :)

Winter Scene for LMMS

It's Thursday and that means that it is time for a new  Little Miss Muffet Stamps Anything Goes Challenge! My card this week proves that it doesn't matter if you are just starting out with digital stamps, it's very easy to get the hang of it. For this card I combined 3 digital stamps using Microsoft Word to make this scene. The reindeer image is a brand new image just being released this week and as soon as I saw it I knew it would go perfectly with this young gal and the trees.

Head on over to the LMMS Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT team created and then play along with us!

Santa's Gifts for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this time we have a great sketch for you!

I'm going back and forth with autumn and Christmas lately and today's card is all Christmas. I used a new SU set called Santa's Gifts to create a little scene, Santa tossing some presents over to Rudolph. I kept the background nice and simple as I wanted all the focus to be on the scene. The present in the air is popped up with dimensionals and I used clear Wink of Stella on all the presents. I did have to move the sentiment to a spot below the scene, and I used some retired Real Red ribbon to create the division between the images and the DSP on the lower section. I did some paper piercing around the edges to finish it all off.

Head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us!

Reindeer Love for Freshly Made Sketches

Tomorrow my 5 week vacation ends and it's back to work. Today I wanted to take the time to go to my happy place so that meant stamping and making a Christmas card! I decided to play along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, which ends tomorrow.

I used the set Santa's Gifts, which is one of the new Christmas sets in the SU catty. The reindeer image is adorable so I used him and then stamped a gift next to him. The reindeer and gift are both colored with Copic markers. The card base is Old Olive and then I embossed a panel of Whisper White with the Stylish Stripes TIEF and placed a strip of Merry Moments DSP down the right side, with a strip of Cherry Cobbler along the edge. The image panel is popped up with dimensionals and I added some sequins to finish it off.

Bright Dasher for TTS

This week at 'Tis The Season we have a nice simple sketch! I decided to break out one of my favorite stamps, Dasher. I also played along with the current Jingle Belles challenge, which was an inspiration photo. I used the colors and reindeer.

I really like the white against the bright colors, it really stands out! To give the card a little more pop I paper pierced along the edges of the card and the main elements.

Head over to the 'Tis The Season blog to play along with us, and check out the Jingle Belles blog as well!

Dasher for Tis The Season

It's time for another challenge at 'Tis The Season and this week we have a great sketch for you! I love the tilted square, it's an element I normally wouldnt work with.

I grabbed my Dasher stamp to create a CAS card. I stamped the reindeer on some Very Vanilla and cut it with the circle framelits. Below that I added a banner of Early Espresso with another banner in Very Vanilla that has the sentiment on it. The polka dot square on a base on Crumb Cake finishes off the card.

I hope you'll come by 'Tis The Season and join us....only 146 days until Christmas (as of Thurs!).

Stamps: Dasher (retired), To You and Yours (retired)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla,Festival of Prints (retired)

Going In Circles for 'Tis The Season

It's time for another 'Tis The Season challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge!

I decided to go for a rustic card and used the deer from the Remembering Christmas set, along with the Hardwood stamp and some retired DSP. It took me a little bit to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with the circle portion of the sketch but I finally decided to cut out a circle using the Starburst Framelits. I stamped the deer image on Whisper White in Sahara Sand and fussy cut it out, popping it up with dimensionals above the banner. The banner is just a smaller version of the main card panel....the Hardwood stamp stamped in Sahara Sand on Sahara Sand card stock. I then stamped the sentiment in Ruby Red(retired) on Whisper White. To finish it off I added some Sahara Sand candy dots on the circle cut out of the DSP.

Head on over to the 'Tis The Season blog and see what the rest of the DT did with the sketch, and then play along with us!

Going to the deer for 'Tis The Season!

It's time again for a 'Tis The Season challenge. I love that its Jan.15 and I already have 15 Christmas cards ready for this year! This week at TTS we have our first photo inspiration challenge and I just love this photo. It is so rustic and pretty!

As soon as I saw the picture I knew I was going to pull out the Wonderful Wreath stamp and the Remembering Christmas set. The deer in that set works perfectly with this wreath to mimic the picture!

I took some Naturals White cardstock and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder called Distressed Stripes. I then used some Crumb Cake to sponge the card and get that whitewashed look. I stamped the wreath in Old Olive and used Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on it, and the deer was stamped in Early Espresso. I made a set of 5 cards!

I hope you'll come
play along with us at 'Tis The Season, we'd love to have you! Our challenges are open for 2 weeks, giving you plenty of time to play along!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Wonderful Wreath, Remembering Christmas, sentiment from A Christmas Carol
Paper: Crumb Cake, Naturals White
Ink: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso

Deer Christmas for TTS#4

It's time for another challenge over at 'Tis The Season! This time we have some great colors for you.....Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler and Baked Brown Sugar with an added option of twine.

I used last weeks sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as a starting point. I grabbed the Remembering Christmas set and used the deer for the main image. I know I've said it before but I just love this stamp! It will get plenty of use throughout the year, that's for sure.

Cherry Cobbler DSP was used for the background and my layers are Marina Mist DSP. I had trouble incorporating the twine and finally I decided on putting a little bow on my deer. I cut out my sentiment with a Bitty Banner framelit, popped it up with dimensionals and called the card good to go :)

I hope you'll come over to 'Tis The Season and play along with us, we'd love to have you!

Stamps: Remembering Christmas
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler DSP, Marina Mist DSP

Merry Circles for Merry Monday

This week at the Merry Monday sketch is all about circles. I ended up making 2 cards for it. They both use the same DSP but on one card I utilized stamped images and the other one is strictly DSP.

The first card I used the reindeer from the retired set Holiday Lineup. The faces on these guys just crack me up! The circles from the sketch made me think of the spotlighting technique so I kind of had that in mind when making this card with these images.. I used Xmas Red Stickles to give the middle reindeer a bright and happy nose! The center circle is popped up with dimensionals, as are the 2 circles behind it.
Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Holiday Lineup(retired), Seasons Greetings(retired)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DSP
Ink: Black StazOn, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Garden Green
Accessories: Xmas Red Stickles, dimensionals, sponge, various SU circle punches

My 2nd card focused on the snowflakes from the DSP. I used different circle punches to highlight the various snowflakes. Like the first card the largest circle and the 2 behind it are popped up for dimension. I thought the bottom half of the card looked a little plain so I drew in some stitching along the edges and Chocolate Chip candy dots
Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: More Merry Messages
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DSP
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Candy Dots, sponge, dimensionals, various SU circle punches

Also, I didn't get the card done in time, but I did use last weeks Merry Monday sketch for a card, HERE.

Reindeer Games

Last week I didnt make the cutoff to play along with the Jingles Belles blog but I made sure to find some time this week. The challenge this time is to use any type of holiday animal in your design.

I am sure everyone who truly knows me is expecting to see a moose card, and I may still try and get one done, but I actually went with a reindeer this time. I just got a Cricut and one of the cartridges I bought, Winter Woodland, had some reindeer images that I wanted to give a try, so this is what I came up with!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Petite Pairs, Many Merry Messages(inside sentiment, not shown)
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Deck The Halls DSP, Bazzill
Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Cricut 'Winter Woodland' cartridge, Smooch Spritz Silver Foil, small oval punch, dimensionals
