Haven't Seen You in Ages

I'm trying to get back into crafty mode now that the holidays are winding down so I played along with Freshly Made Sketches

As you can see the sketch is for a square card but since I'm not really a fan of square cards I just used the sketch on a regular A2 size card. I used the Stitched Mountain Range from MFT for the large square, die cutting the top of the CS and then cutting the rest of it into a square shape. I used MFT's Tall Grassy Edge to place grass along the bottom of the square and then added the dinosaurs into the scene. I wanted my sentiment on the front somewhere so I stamped it on another piece of Crumb Cake and adhered it to the square so the sentiment was along the bottom of the little scene. My 18 year old loves dinosaurs and he gave his seal of approval to this card LOL

Thanks for stopping by and please, if you go out to celebrate for NYE do not drink and drive!

Moose Love for LMMS

Happy Thursday! Can you believe that Christmas is just a few days away? This year flew by, it's crazy. There are a lot of big moments happening in my house in 2017 so I'm looking forward to the new year and new adventures.

For today's LMMS card it's all about the love and what better image to use than a mama moose and her baby! I love that this image from LMMS portrays the moose accurately...I can't tell you how many times I've come across a moose stamp where they have it as a female moose but the image has antlers. Some stamps you can cut the antlers off to make it a female but others you can't. Cow moose don't have antlers! Anyway, I won't buy an image unless it's accurate and this moose image is spot on plus it's adorable!

I colored the image with copics and then used heart dies from SU (retired) for my heart, which I then embossed with a CB folder, The sentiment is from MFT. The light here at my place isn't very good today, this card is SO cute in person!

Make sure you head over to the LMMS blog to play along with our Anything Goes Challenge and see what the rest of the DT came up with!

Christmas Wishes

I fell behind on Christmas cards this year and so I've been scrambling the last few days to get them done. Thankfully the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches came to the rescue and I created 6 cards of this design to send out.

Thanks to the recent 30DayDailyMarker Challenge I had this sweet image of a girl and Christmas tree colored and ready to go, so all I needed to do was assemble the rest of the card. I was going through my large stash of hoarded DSP and found this paper from SU that was perfect for my card.
I cut a piece of white paper, stamped the sentiment along the bottom, embossed the top portion and then used ribbon to separate the 2 sections. The image is popped up with dimensionals. I then used some Old Olive as backing under the white panel. It's hard to see in the photo but I added clear Wink of Stella to her scarf and tights.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spotlight Flowers

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a sketch. This sketch was a little tough for me, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with the top portion but after mulling it over for a while I decided on using a background stamp from MFT and doing the spotlight technique.

I stamped the background stamp on a piece of Neenah Solar White and then cut it out to the shape and size I wanted for the top portion. I then stamped the background image again and used a circle punch to cut out an area that I would focus on. I used copics to color in the flower on the punched out section and then I colored in some of the images on the top section. The circle portion is popped up for dimension and I used the SU Woodgrain folder to emboss the card base.

Make sure you head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us. The challenge is open until Dec.30th so there is plenty of time in between holiday festivities to get crafty!

LMMS Inspiration

Happy Thursday! It's time for some Little Miss Muffet Stamps inspiration and it's even more fun this week because new images are being released today! I love the new releases and for my card I used Polka Dot Pal Brianna.

After using Word to get the image to the size I wanted I printed it out and then colored it with my copics. Next I used my ScanNCut to cut the image out and I popped it up on my card. The card base is the thick Whisper White with some patterned paper that was in the $3.00 bin at Target! It's hard to see in the picture but I used red Wink of Stella on her headband and clear Wink of Stella on her leggings.

Head on over to the LMMS FB group to see the rest of the inspiration from the DT and don't forget that the LMMS Anything Goes challenge is still open. Come on over and play along! You can find all LMMS images HERE.

A Tropical Christmas for LMMS

It's inspiration week at LMMS and I decided to go tropical. One of my good friends here in Alaska does not like winter at all. She has lived here over 30 years and a few years ago her and her husband decided to make the move to Arizona. Sadly, about a year after moving, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. Not long after that she moved back up here to be near her kids and grandkids again. However not a day goes by that she doesn't wish for hot weather and bright sun, so this card was made especially for her!

I used the LMMS images Palm Tree and Dexter Caroling. You can find them in the store HERE and HERE. People often think Alaska has penguins, so little Dexter represents my friend escaping to the tropics!

Visit the LMMS FB group and see the rest of the inspiration from the DT. Don't forget, you can still play along with the LMMS Anything Goes challenge also!

Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch (SU)

Deer Friend

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a color challenge. The image and colors definitely make me think of gingerbread, but that's not what I went with on my card. I decided to pull out one of the new Christmas sets from MFT that I haven't inked up yet.

Once again I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches as my starting point. I happened to see the sketch while I was on break at work and checking out Blogger and as soon as I saw it the idea for this card popped into my head.

I die cut out a circle and then embossed with the Softly Falling EF from SU. I stamped the deer in Baked Brown Sugar (SU retired) and the tree in Garden Green, and then colored the tree in with a copic marker. As you can see in the sketch the sentiment is on top and then the element across the bottom of the circle....I die cut 2 of these borders and just layered them to follow the sketch. I finished it all off with some Baked Brown Sugar DSP layered onto a card base of Baked Brown Sugar.

Make sure you head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

(I chose the 2 greens and the brown, with white as a neutral for my colors)
