A Very Meowy Christmas

Over at the Jingle Belles blog they are all about a creature Christmas right now. I was going to do a moose card (of course) but I recently got this fabulous stamp from Mama Elephant and just had to color it up. I adore cats, and have many friends that are cat lovers also so this is the perfect Christmas image for me to have! It's hard to see but I added some Wink of Stella to the hats and ornaments.

Gobble Gobble for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm all about Thanksgiving. A lot of people say to me, what about Thanksgiving, there is another holiday between Halloween and Christmas ya know, especially since I am in full on Christmas mode all the time. Trust me, I know there is Thanksgiving and I love it...I love the yummy food, being with my family and just hanging out with good friends. Just because I'm focusing on Christmas doesn't mean I've forgotten everything else, I'm just more subdued about other holidays :)

I wanted something nice and easy for my Thanksgiving card. I started going through my stash of Little Miss Muffet Stamps images and came across this turkey. It's a digital stamp called Hazel's Turkey and I think it is so cute! I decided to put it on a white card base and then used a stamp to create some dirt below him with a sentiment that reads "Gobble Gobble" on the outside of the card and inside the sentiment reads "It's Turkey Time".

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so head on over there and play along with us!

Love You to the Core

The current challenge over at The Paper Players blog is all about apples and it's perfect because I've had this Pure Innocence image sitting on my craft desk for a few weeks now. I had colored it and then just kind of pushed it to the side, so the apple challenge was the perfect motivation I needed to get it made into a card!

I used yellow and green for the colors of the girls clothing so I grabbed some of my favorite retired SU DSP that I've been hoarding. I love polka dots and I love these colors together so I created a very simple background with this DSP on my red card base. I added the sentiment to the inside of the card and pulled it all together by putting a strip of the Old Olive polka dot paper across the inside of the card.

Let it Snow for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun sketch from Heidi to get everyone's creativity going.

For my card I used a Stampin Up! set from the holiday catalog called Alpine Adventure. As soon as I saw this set I had to have it, I am a huge winter lover and I love spending time outdoors in the snow. This set has some great dies and stamps that coordinate together.

I used some SU Under the Mistletoe DSP against an Early Espresso card base and then for the slanted vertical layer I used a piece of Shaded Spruce that I scored with my Simply Scored tool in order to get some dimension. To create my red frame I used a brand new tool I recently bought at Michaels, the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board. It was nice and easy to create my frame with it!

I used the SU Alpine Sports Framelits to cut out my sled and snowshoes. They looked a little plain so I decided to use the ribbon die and added a red ribbon to each item. To finish the card off I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and then used my square 1" punch to cut it out, then I adhered it with dimensionals in the middle of the frame.

Make sure to head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you interpret the sketch!

Getting Cozy for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and it's our 200th challenge! Wow, 200, can you believe it? As always it's Anything Goes so grab your favorite Little Miss Muffet Stamps rubber stamp or digi and head on over to play along!

For my card I'm featuring Holiday Truck again. Have I said lately how much I love this digi and the possibilities it offers? I seriously can't get enough of it! This time I kept it simple and used one of my favorite dies to create a frame, adding patterned paper that I thought went well with the Holiday Truck. I stamped the sentiment in white on the frame and to the left of the image and then I popped up the Holiday Truck with dimensionals to really make it pop off the front.

Painted Pumpkins

I finally found some time to craft today so I played along with 2 challenges, both from Power Poppy.....this weeks Creative Confetti, which is a sketch, and the monthly Power and Spark, which is to create a project that celebrates your birthday month. I just had my birthday on Oct.11 so this is my birthday month, which means pumpkins, leaves and Halloween are perfect for a project!

For my card I used the brand new digital set Painting Pumpkins, I just love it! It has several pumpkin images to choose from but I decided to go with the pumpkins that had the Halloween faces on them. We go all out decorating our yard for Halloween but this year I'm running behind because we ran off to Seward for my birthday and now I'm playing catch up!

The colors on my image were pulled from the retired SU DSP I used and I added some burlap and ribbon behind the image to bring it all together.

Hey, Pumpkin for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm highlighting a brand new stamp, Polka Dot Pals Jack. Isn't he just darling? I've got 2 boys plus my nephew so I love having super cute boy stamps to use and PDP Jack does not disappoint!

I decided to use bright colors for my card so I pulled out some retired SU DSP that I have in my stash. I pulled some of the colors from the paper and used them for coloring in my image. The card is perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving, an autumn birthday or just to say hi to your favorite young boy. I love images that can be used several different ways!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog is still open so make sure you head on over there and play along! Go over to the NEW section at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store and pick out an image to use for your next project!

Monochromatic Santa

This week for the Creative Confetti Challenge over at the Power Poppy blog we are asked to create a monochromatic project with a bit of sparkle. I instantly knew which image I would use, as I have used it for a monochromatic scheme before....Flowering Santa. I've previously done it in red and blue so today I decided to go with an olive color, that way I could pair it with some retired SU DSP I have. I added black card stock as my neutral against the green.

I used Copics YG61, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG 97 and YG99. I admit to forgetting about the sparkle until I was about to photograph my card. I grabbed some green stickles and put that in the middle of the flowers and on the dots scattered through the image.

A-Maize-ing for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge for everyone. I think these colors are so pretty but I had a tough time coming up with a card...the beginning of October is always hard for me, as it's the anniversary of my dad's passing, and my creative mojo is usually nowhere to be found. An idea finally came to me though and I got this card done.

The images are from Lawn Fawn and I colored them with copics, then adhered them to the Lawn Fawn patterned paper I used. For some added dimension I popped up the scarecrow and bird with dimensionals.

I'm also playing along with the challenge over at the Lawn Fanatics blog, as the theme is autumn. It's been autumn here in Alaska long before the calendar declared it. Most of the leaves from my trees are on my lawn, I need to get out there and rake!

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you use these colors!

Christmas Cheer for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I once again used the Holiday Truck image. I can't help it, I simply adore this stamp and all the different possibilities with it. It's perfect for creating winter or Christmas cards!

When I went to SC in May I went by Hobby Lobby and picked up a pad of Christmas paper. The paper I used on this card is from that pad. I really like the contrast between the lettering on the upper half and the plaid on the bottom. I texted a picture of the card to my daughter when I finished it and she texted back "that is definitely a Lisa card". LOL
