Forsythia for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps, and this week we have a fun color challenge for everyone!

As soon as I saw the graphic for this weeks challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Stampin Up! Has a set in their mini catalog called Delightful Wishes and when I saw it I thought about growing up in MA and all the forsythia we had. I just adore the delicate yellow flowers on forsythia plants and just had to make my card with this set.

I'm not going to lie, I had a vision and I got right to it, lost in my own little world. It wasn't until I was done with the card that I realized my vision and the challenge colors didn't quite sync up. Oooops. Thankfully I still had everything out and I went right back to work, this time creating a card using the challenge colors.

My first card:

My layout was inspired by the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Fla-la-la-la-la-mingo

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge to play along with.

I always struggle with pink because I absolutely despise the color. After thinking about it for a while I decided to plan ahead and create a Christmas card for one of my best friends. She absolutely adores flamingoes and during the summer months has a bunch of plastic ones that she puts in her yard. It's quite the sight to see!

From the graphic I used the 2 shades of pink and the navy blue. My neutral color is gray and I snuck in a few small pops of color for the light strand.

My layout is from the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. The shaded snow/ice behind the flamingos is in place of the heart and the flamingoes are in place of the greenery.

So Much Love

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge for everyone!

For my card I decided to use a Stampin'Up! set called Love For You. I used 4 of the colors from the graphic, all of them being 2022-2024 InColors.

The inspiration for my layout came from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The "for" and "you" are in place of the 2 circles along the main circle and they are popped up for added dimension.

Thanks Friend

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge to play along with.

For my card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, it was perfect for the patterned paper I wanted to use for my colors.

I used a die from MFT to cut rectangles from the various paper and then I just arranged them in a row across the card base. I then used a 'thanks' die from MFT, cutting it out several times so I could stack it for more dimension, as my sentiment. After placing the "thanks" sentiment on the card I used a Wink of Stella pen to add some glitter. The "friend" stamp is also from MFT.

This was a super easy card that came together pretty quickly!

See the Good

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a color challenge for everyone.

I'm not going to lie, these colors were tough for me. I do not like the color purple so I was trying to figure out to mix everything together in a way that would make me happy. I started thinking about a SU set that I have that hasn't seen ink yet and the idea just rolled out after that.

I used the Grove dies on Night of Navy card stock to cut out the tree scene, then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and blended Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo to create a sunset background. I then cut the WW paper down to fit the back of the tree scene, added a die cut deer and mounted it on a Night of Navy base. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy on Flirty Flamingo and then popped up with dimensionals.

To the Core

I'm late, I'm late! I might as well stamp that on my forehead because it seems like I'm never on time with my crafting anymore! All I can say is that it's going to get worse before it gets better LOL

We're in the middle of a brand new color challenge over at Sunday Stamps and the colors are gorgeous fall ones! As soon as I saw this palette I knew I wanted to use it with the new MFT Pure Innocence stamp Apple of My Eye.

I used the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for my layout, pulling the colors I used to color my image for my papers. I went with green and yellow for the rectangle panels, a white card base and then a white sentiment strip with orange ink for the text. I popped up both the image and the sentiment strip for added dimension.

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, you have until Fri. Sept.16th at 6pm EST to join us. There is also still time to play along with Freshly Made Sketches, their link closes at noon PST Monday the 12th!

Love and Warmth

It's time for a new Sunday Stamps challenge and this week we have a great color challenge. I especially love the graphic, it features my very favorite mushroom, the Fly Agaric. I have a ton of them in my yard right now!

Fly Agarics in various stages in my yard

For my card I used a new set from SU called Ringed With Nature. I'm a sucker for anything woodsy and this set can be used year round. I used Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade and Crushed Curry DSP for my papers and for the wood I used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. The little mushrooms were made with Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake and I added the dots with a white gel pen.

My layout is from the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. It was just what I needed for what I had in mind for this set.

Pink Dragon

Happy Sunday! It's time for a brand new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge!
I was a bit stumped on what to do with my card, I didn't want to do flowers or berries so after thinking about it for a while I decided to pull out the Magical Friends set from MFT. A good friend of mine has granddaughters that love dragons so they were my inspiration when coloring up with pink dragon.

My inspiration for the layout came from the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

So Thankful

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week. I was able to go back to work finally and it felt so good to be back at the school.

Today we have a brand new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this time we have a fun color challenge. I went ahead and used the photo for my inspiration, coloring up a fun sunflower digital stamp from Power Poppy. I used some retired SU DSP for my background paper.

The layout for my card comes from the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Bewitchingly Cute

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a great color combo for everyone to work with!

As soon as I saw these colors I immediately thought of Halloween . Maybe it's because fall is quickly approaching here in Alaska or maybe it's just because I'm ready for Halloween but either way that's what I went with for my card! I used the orange, purple and green colors from the graphic.

I used the set 'Boo Crew' from MFT and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout. I haven't played along with them in ages so it was nice to be able to join in on their challenge too! It took me a bit to decide how I wanted to do the background but I finally decided on the embossed spiderweb background using a SU folder.

Happy Mother's Day

Oooops! I thought this had posted last Sunday but I guess not. My bad!

We have a brand new color challenge over at Sunday Stamps and the colors are perfect for spring.

For my card I used a SU set called Welcoming Window and it's coordinating dies. I used a stone background stamp to get a bit of a cottage look, using the 2 bottom colors in the graphic. Then I used the yellow and 2 blues from the graphic to create the rest of the card. I really like how it came out!

Sunny Tulips

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a bright and cheery color challenge to work with!

For my card I used a retired set from Power Poppy called Loving Tulips and I used the last 3 colors on the challenge graphic on my card. I just love the yellow and green together, it makes for such a happy card. This card will be going to a woman fighting cancer so cheerful and sunny is definitely needed.

You Can and You Will

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color combo to play along with!

I friend of mine asked me for an inspirational/encouraging card so I started by figuring out the sentiment I wanted to use. I grabbed one from the Power Poppy set M-Powering Words (it's a retiring set but you can still pick it up for a deeply discounted price!). I then looked at the colors and decided which ones I wanted to use for the image panel. I went with the yellow and gray in the photo and stamped the background stamp with both colors. The gray got a bit muddy but it's there, I promise :) I then stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral on top of the yellow/gray background.

The background paper I used is some retired SU DSP I have in my stash. As soon as I saw the color of this challenge I instantly thought of this paper and it ended up working out perfectly!

Blowing You a Kiss

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge for you!

For my card I used a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT called Winter Kisses. I used the reds from the graphics on her hat, scarf, gloves, coat pockets and boots and then the dark gray for the rest of her outfit. I snuck in a bit of the cinnamon color as her shirt that's visible below the scarf and her hair is also the cinnamon/brown color.

The layout is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches. I haven't been able to play along with them in what seems like forever and this weeks sketch is such a fun one! My patterned paper came from a Christmas pad that I picked up at Michaels.

The sentiment from the new MFT PI was a bit too long so I used a sentiment from a retired PI that worked perfectly with this image!

Rejoice in the Quiet

I'm running late with my post but I have a good reason....my youngest son is up here for Christmas with his girlfriend. It's his first time back home since moving to Oregon 2 yrs ago and our first time meeting his girlfriend. Needless to say I am soaking up every little bit of time with them that I can before they leave on Jan.2!

The new Sunday Stamps challenge is a color challenge and I just love these colors, which are my absolute favs, blue and greens. I'm a nature themed person and most of the walls in my house are either painted blue or green, with a few browns thrown in here and there LOL

For my card I used the new Power Poppy set Cuddle in the Cabin. I adore the images in this set and the colors of the challenge inspired me to pull them out and create what a see when I drive up to Denali National Park, which is 3 hours north of me. There is a large section of the drive where you are surrounded by mountains on both sides of the road and spruce trees are scattered across the landscape. I've also seen moose and caribou on my drives back and forth, so this is what my card captures.

Fall Moose

I'm late, I'm late! I went to Denali National Park over the weekend and didn't get any crafting done before I left so here is my Sunday Stamps card a bit late.

We have a fun color challenge this week at Sunday Stamps and the colors are perfect for fall. When I saw the colors my eye instantly went to the yellow and I started thinking about what I could do to make the yellow the focus of my card. I looked around my area to try and get some inspiration and 2 things instantly jumped to mind..... moose and larch trees. I LOVE larch trees, I think they are so cool. I'd love to have a bunch in my yard but my husband isn't a big fan like I am. The bright yellow/orange they turn in the fall just really appeals to me.

I then started thinking about the brown in the color palette and of course what comes to mind? Moose of course! It's rutting season and when I was up in Denali I was really hoping to see some big bulls looking for a female friend but alas the moose were nowhere to be seen. We did see a young bull as we were leaving the park but all the others were hunkered down somewhere.

For my card I used the trees in the Merry Moose set to stamp some larch trees and then I added some smaller pine trees in front of those. I then stamped my moose image on Soft Suede card stock with Early Espresso ink and used my coordinating punch to pop the moose out. The background paper is from the Plaid Tidings DSP found in the SU Holiday Catalog. I popped the moose up with mini dimensionals and I thought about adding a sentiment but then decided I liked the card as it is and so I put it down and called it good!

Harvest Love

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a gorgeous autumn color combo to play with.

I recently got some bundles from the SU Holiday catalog and this autumn stamp and die set was one of them. It's called Autumn Goodness and the fence die and wheelbarrow stamp/die is what really sold me on this one. I've wanted a fence die for a while and combining the wheelbarrow with other images in the set? Yes please!

I decided to use Early Espresso for my card base and then I used Crumb Cake for the next layer, embossing it with the Pinewood Planks folder. I used a circle die to cut a piece of the plaid paper and then cut the fence from Pool Party and the wheelbarrow from Early Espresso. The sentiment was also stamped in Early Espresso.

Even though you only need to use 3 colors from the graphic I pretty much used all 5, even though my flowers are more of a red than a rust color.

Make sure to head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! We'd love to see how you use these fall colors.

Having Fun Together

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have some nice cool colors for you to play along with.

I recently got a new bundle from the SU Holiday Catalog called Freezin' Fun. Winter is my favorite season and I can't resist animals such as a penguin and rabbit out having some fun on the slopes!

For my card base I used Misty Moonlight and then stamped some snowflakes on it with Versamark. I then used a die from the Freezin' Fun set to create my slopes. I used the rabbit and penguin from my set and colored them with copics and then used more coordinating dies to cut them out. I made my penguin a snowboarder, cutting out the snowboard from some In Color DSP. I added some Wink of Sella along the edges of the slope and then stamped my sentiment at the bottom. I pretty much used every shade from the graphic on my card!
