Bewitchingly Cute

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a great color combo for everyone to work with!

As soon as I saw these colors I immediately thought of Halloween . Maybe it's because fall is quickly approaching here in Alaska or maybe it's just because I'm ready for Halloween but either way that's what I went with for my card! I used the orange, purple and green colors from the graphic.

I used the set 'Boo Crew' from MFT and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout. I haven't played along with them in ages so it was nice to be able to join in on their challenge too! It took me a bit to decide how I wanted to do the background but I finally decided on the embossed spiderweb background using a SU folder.

Make sure to head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you use these colors!

Hello, Pumpkin

Whew, it has been darn near impossible for me to find any crafting time! Work has been kicking my butt and I spend my spare time either painting my house or sleeping. Thankfully Mother Nature finally gave us a weekend full of sun and no rain so hubby and I spent this entire weekend getting the rest of the exterior of the house painted. Other than scraping paint off the windows we are done, wooohooo! I love seeing my house with a new trim color and a fresh coat of paint for the body, it just makes such a nice difference!

Sunday night is always family night for me, my husband and our oldest son so tonight we played horseshoes after dinner since the mosquitoes have disappeared. Hubby won the first game and our son won the second one. After saying goodbye to our son I came into the craft room and grabbed this pumpkin image from Power Poppy that I recently colored (currently on sale for 2.99!!). I had set aside some patterned paper that I thought would go good with this stamp and I just started playing along with the paper and card stock to see if I could get a layout I liked. I finally decided on this layout, there is some of the patterned paper showing but yet room to stamp a sentiment in the bottom corner. I popped the image panel up for more dimension.

Trick or Treat

I'm easing into a new position at work and even though I've been on days since April trying to balance my work time, family time and crafting time is still an issue for me. I have very little time to craft, so I definitely need to try and adjust my evening schedule at home so I can enjoy more time in my craft room!

Today's card came together very quickly, it uses an image that I colored last month during the 30 Day Marker Coloring Challenge. The witch is a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil, I just love her witch images! Shes added several new ones this season so I definitely need to print those out and play.

For this image I used the usual colors I grab for Halloween cards, green, purple and a hint of black on this one. The image is colored with copic markers and the paper is from a pad I got at JoAnn 's last year I believe. I die cut all of the pieces on the front of the card and then layered them for a nice simple layout (layout is from MFT Bluepriints 20 sketch guide).

Happy Halloween

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun sketch from Heidi! I recently colored this fun Halloween witch from Mo's Digital Pencil and it's been sitting on my desk just waiting to be made into a card and Heidi's sketch was the perfect layout.

Purple and green with a splash of orange are my favorite colors to use for Halloween, I'm not sure why but that's what I always gravitate too. It's funny because I can't stand the color purple except for Halloween images and some flower ones. Go figure!

Make sure and head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created. We have a brand new DT member, Stef Perry, so come on by to give her a big welcome and then play along with us, we'd love to see how YOU interpret the sketch!

Halloween Bookmark

This week the Creative Confetti Challenge over at the Power Poppy blog is to make a Halloween project. I'm done making Halloween cards for the season so I sat for a few mins to think about what I could do and then it hit me, I need a bookmark!

My oldest son and I are huge book lovers and we both love Stephen King. To keep clutter down in my house I got rid of most of my books except for a select few SK ones, my Christmas book collection and my Alaska book collection. I enjoy my Kindle but sometimes I just like to hold a book and turn actual pages so when the latest SK book came out, The Institute, I immediately borrowed it from my son. As I get further into the book I need something other than the dust jacket to save my spot so hence the need for a bookmark!

I used the cat and pumpkin image from the Feeling Fall set and stamped it a bit off the bookmark. Then I used a sentiment and bat images from an older set Marcella created for Flourishes stamps. I colored the image with copics and then adhered to the bookmark to a black backing and then added purple ribbon to the top. I was going to mix orange and purple but my craft room is such a mess that I can't find my orange ribbon from the last project I used it on, ugh.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, My Pretty

I have several Halloween images that I colored during the various Daily Marker 30 Day challenges so today I decided to start going through my stash and getting some cards created with them.

This image is a retired Pure Innocence stamp from MFT. Such an adorable witch! I had found a Halloween paper pad from JoAnn's last year and it had the perfect paper to use on my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Painted Pumpkins

I'm sneaking in with a card made for the current Creative Confetti Challenge over at the Power Poppy blog. This time Julie kept it easy and all we had to do was create a project using any Power Poppy image! I've had this image of pumpkins sitting on my desk for a few weeks now so it was the perfect motivation to get it colored up!

I colored the image with copics and then used some paper from a paper pad in my stash. I kept it simple as usual by not adding any embellishments or anything like that. Those who have been by my blog before know that I'm not much of an embellishments person.

I'm glad I was able to get this card done before the next Creative Confetti challenge goes live tomorrow, whew!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Treat For You

I haven't crafted all week, I'm usually too exhausted when I come home from work, but today I made time to play along with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I need to build up my Halloween supply so I once again grabbed the MFT set Fab-Boo-lous Friends.

I didn't make a square card but that's the only thing I changed about the sketch. I used a retired SU set to create the colored squares and then I colored my images with copics and then popped them up with dimensionals on the squares. I stamped the sentiment in black and kept that nice and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ghostly Greetings

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun sketch from Heather!

We helped our oldest son move into a new place this weekend and for the first time he is living by himself with no roommates. He is super excited to start decorating for fall and Halloween and not have to deal with roommates that don't enjoy the season as much as he does. My husband and I have always gone all out decorating for Halloween and Christmas so I told my son, guess what, you have turned into your parents ROFL

His excitement over his next adventure in life has me excited and so I decided to do a Halloween themed card. I used a set from MFT called Fab-Boo-Lous Friends. The images in this set are too cute and just the perfect size for the 3 elements in the sketch!

I decided to color up a pumpkin, mummy and witch for the 3 and adhered them to green card stock, stamping the sentiment in black below them. I sponged the edges of the green panel in black to better blend in with the patterned paper I used. The patterned paper is from a paper pad I got at JoAnn's (I think) last year. I love the papers in it!

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! We'd love to see how you interpret the sketch!

Painted Pumpkins

I finally found some time to craft today so I played along with 2 challenges, both from Power Poppy.....this weeks Creative Confetti, which is a sketch, and the monthly Power and Spark, which is to create a project that celebrates your birthday month. I just had my birthday on Oct.11 so this is my birthday month, which means pumpkins, leaves and Halloween are perfect for a project!

For my card I used the brand new digital set Painting Pumpkins, I just love it! It has several pumpkin images to choose from but I decided to go with the pumpkins that had the Halloween faces on them. We go all out decorating our yard for Halloween but this year I'm running behind because we ran off to Seward for my birthday and now I'm playing catch up!

The colors on my image were pulled from the retired SU DSP I used and I added some burlap and ribbon behind the image to bring it all together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey, Pumpkin for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm highlighting a brand new stamp, Polka Dot Pals Jack. Isn't he just darling? I've got 2 boys plus my nephew so I love having super cute boy stamps to use and PDP Jack does not disappoint!

I decided to use bright colors for my card so I pulled out some retired SU DSP that I have in my stash. I pulled some of the colors from the paper and used them for coloring in my image. The card is perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving, an autumn birthday or just to say hi to your favorite young boy. I love images that can be used several different ways!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog is still open so make sure you head on over there and play along! Go over to the NEW section at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store and pick out an image to use for your next project!

Hello, My Pretty

I've been wanting to play along with the sketch over at The Paper Players so today I made time to be in my craft room and get a card done. And then I stood in my craft room, just staring at my desk, watching the leaves fall out the window, I played with the puppies when they came in to see me....I had zero creative mojo happening LOL I finally decided to go take my shower and get dinner going and then I popped back into the craft room and ding ding! the light bulb finally went off!

I colored up a few of these PI witch images a few weeks ago and they've just been sitting in a pile on my desk. I grabbed one and then took some patterned paper from a recent pad I got at JoAnn's and started to put it all together. Die-Namics Set 18 from MFT made it easy for me to follow the sketch, and I used a stitched circle die from them to do the circle portion of the sketch. I popped up the little witch with dimensionals, stamped out my sentiment and called it good to go :)

Witchy Greetings for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog, plus there are new images being released today! I am SO excited about the new images and was really torn about what to use, but since Halloween is a little over a month away I decided to go with the new Halloween image.

The new image is called Jr Hatter Agnes and she is just too cute! I colored her with copics and then I grabbed a pad of paper that I got from JoAnn's over the weekend, it's from DCWV and has some seriously awesome Halloween patterns in it. I grabbed 2 papers from the pad that made it super easy to have the image front and center on the card. The purple frame was cut from a 12x12 sheet that has other frames and sayings on it, I cut this frame out and adhered it to the green spiderweb paper and then popped up Agnes with some dimensionals. I wanted the colors and image on the front of the card to be the main focus so I decided to keep a sentiment off the front and to put one inside the card if needed/wanted.

Make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store to check out the 3 images being released today and then grab one and come play along in our Anything Goes Challenge

Too Cute to Spook for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm using the Swing N Slides Lil Spook image again, I just love him!

I wanted to keep the card pretty simple so I created a white card base and then used a retired set from Stampin Up to create the colored splotches for the background. I pulled the colors right from the Lil Spook image. I stamped the sentiment in black and then popped up the image to the right of the sentiment. Easy peasy for a quick and cute Halloween card!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes Challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog is still open so head on over there and play along with us!

Happy Halloween for LMMS

It's Thursday and you know what that means, Little Miss Muffet Stamps goodies! This week I am using one of my favorite Halloween images, Polka Dot Pals Hauntly. How fun is she? I love the spiderweb on her dress and the bats around her head! She's the perfect image to use for people who like "cute" Halloween and not scary Halloween!

I used a spiderweb stamp that I picked up at my local stamp store last year to create my background. I colored my image with copics and then used my Scan N Cut to cut her out. She's popped up with dimensionals and then I tucked the sentiment under her and to the left.

Make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then join in our Anything Goes challenge, you could win $10.00 to the LMMS store! There were also 3 brand new images released today, head over HERE in the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store to check them out!

Trick or Treat for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog! There are some awesome new images in the shop but for this card I decided to take it back and use an older image, Swing N Slides Lil' Spook. I just love this fun image and I'm in a fall frame of mind so a Halloween card was just the thing I needed.

I used a retired die from MFT to create my "window", using fun bat themed paper for the inside openings. Using Versamark I stamped a retired spiderweb from SU around the orange frame. I then popped up my Lil' Spook image with dimensionals and adhered a sentiment to the top of the card.

You can find this image HERE in the store and you call find all the brand new images HERE. Make sure to head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Ghost Hugs for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I went with a Halloween theme. I used a terrific image from the shop called Polka Dot Pals Ghostly. It's easy to color and offers up a ton of possibilities for card layouts. I decided to keep mine simple and make Ghostly the focus of the card with a tame background so I didn't detract from the image. I used a sentiment from MFT to finish the card off.

Make sure and head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open so play along for a chance to with a gift certificate to the LMMS store!

Batty About You

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps and this week Leena has a fun sketch for us!

I decided to go with a Halloween theme and pulled out one of my favorite Pure Innocence stamps, Batty About You. I just love this fun girl all dressed up for Halloween!

After coloring in the image with copics I started going through my stash of paper to find something for Halloween. I found this paper I had gotten in a kit from S.E.I. a few years ago and it was perfect to use with my bat girl. I used a die to cut a circle out of the silver paper, thinking along the lines of the moon at night. I then adhered the circle to the orange paper, which has bats on it, which ties into the bat girl image. For the part on the sketch that has the ribbon I used some black mesh that came with this Halloween kit. I then used dimensionals to pop up the image over the mesh, circle and sentiment banner.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we want to see how YOU interpret the sketch!
