So Much Love

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge for everyone!

For my card I decided to use a Stampin'Up! set called Love For You. I used 4 of the colors from the graphic, all of them being 2022-2024 InColors.

The inspiration for my layout came from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The "for" and "you" are in place of the 2 circles along the main circle and they are popped up for added dimension.

Make sure and head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! There is also still some time to play along with Freshly Made Sketches, their challenge closes at noon PST on 3/20.

Forever Friends

Good evening! I'm squeaking in with a card for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge that ends at noon PST on Monday.

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use the set Sky High Friends from MFT. I just love these hot air balloon images, they can be used for any occasion. For this card I grabbed a sentiment from the MFT Little Love Notes set for a friendship theme, as I'm going to give the card to one of my very best friends.

When looking at the card I can see how the different elements fit into the sketch so I hope everyone else can too (except for the sentiment, I know that isn't part of the sketch).

Thanks for stopping by!

You Mean the World To Me

Hello there! Right now over at the Sunday Stamps blog we have a fun sketch challenge going on, brought to us by Amy.

I needed a card for a package I was sending out to my brand new grandson (born Dec.16th!). I've been wanting to use the SU set Happier Than Happy and this was the perfect reason to get it out!

I used the coordinating DSP and cut out the image area I wanted to use for the center of the card. I didn't want to waste any paper so the layer on the card base is where I cut the center panel from, and I just cut a green backing panel to cover up the missing center rectangle. The center is popped up for extra dimension.

One of my youngest sons best friends from high school is in the military in NY and he and his wife also just had their first child so although I didn't follow the sketch, I did make another super easy card to include in the box I sent them.

Make sure to head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you interpret this sketch!

Thanks Friend

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun color challenge to play along with.

For my card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, it was perfect for the patterned paper I wanted to use for my colors.

I used a die from MFT to cut rectangles from the various paper and then I just arranged them in a row across the card base. I then used a 'thanks' die from MFT, cutting it out several times so I could stack it for more dimension, as my sentiment. After placing the "thanks" sentiment on the card I used a Wink of Stella pen to add some glitter. The "friend" stamp is also from MFT.

This was a super easy card that came together pretty quickly!

Make sure and head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us. There is also time to still play along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

Ski-son's Greetings

Happy Sunday! It's time for another Sunday Stamps challenge and this week we have a great sketch from Annette to play with.

For my card I used the set Alpine Friends from MFT. I bought this set back in November and I planned on making some Christmas cards with it. However, life was crazy and I never got any Christmas cards made with it. That's why I decided to pull it out and use it for the sketch this week.

I did take some liberties with the sketch. The tram cars represent the flowers and the wires, trams and house with trees help form a bit of a circle in the middle. I did move the sentiment further down, putting it in the bottom right of the card.

To create the sky I used distressed oxide inks Salty Ocean and Broken China and blended them together, going for a winter bluebird sky. My inspiration for the card was Alyeska Resort here in Alaska. It's located south of Anchorage in Girdwood and last year when my daughter was working there I went down to visit her and we took the tram to the top of the mountain. The views were amazing and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day!

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with this sketch!

See the Good

Happy Sunday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a color challenge for everyone.

I'm not going to lie, these colors were tough for me. I do not like the color purple so I was trying to figure out to mix everything together in a way that would make me happy. I started thinking about a SU set that I have that hasn't seen ink yet and the idea just rolled out after that.

I used the Grove dies on Night of Navy card stock to cut out the tree scene, then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and blended Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo to create a sunset background. I then cut the WW paper down to fit the back of the tree scene, added a die cut deer and mounted it on a Night of Navy base. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy on Flirty Flamingo and then popped up with dimensionals.

Head on over to Sunday Stamps to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with these colors!

Time to Celebrate!

Happy New Year! Last year I didn't get much time to stamp or be creative but I'm hoping that will change this year!

I'm starting off my creative year with a brand new challenge from Sunday Stamps and this is a special one, our 300th challenge! Hard to believe we've been doing sketch and color challenges for that long. The Sunday Stamps blog wouldn't still be going strong if it wasn't for all the great people who play along with us, we truly appreciate you!

This week's challenge is a sketch with a bonus theme of "celebration". You can choose to do the sketch, you can choose to do the celebration theme or you can combine them into one project and use the sketch on a project that has a celebration theme.

For my card I decided to go with both the sketch and celebrate theme. I used one of my favorite line of stamps, the Pure Innocence line from MFT. I just love these images and this girl with a gift was perfect for the celebrate theme.

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the team came up with and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you come up with!
