Snowmen Fun

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas challenge blog and as always it's Anything Goes, with an optional theme. This week the option is snowmen so I pulled out this fun stamp from Mama Elephant! Who doesn't love a big group of snowmen! It's perfect for me right now as we have gotten a bunch of snow lately and the only thing missing from my yard is a snowman! Sadly our snow is very dry so we can't make a snowman with it, but I can get my fix through card making :)

Make sure you head on over to The Merry Christmas blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Happy Birthday Greenery

It's time for a new color challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a great color challenge featuring some lovely shades of green. Green is one of my favorite colors so I was happy to see this color palette, and not one with any pink LOL

I originally pulled out the SU set No Bones About It and was going to make a dinosaur card but my brain just couldn't get rolling with that theme. I put that set back on the shelf and pulled out Butterfly Basics. I still wasn't sure what direction I was going to go in so I just stuck my stamps on some blocks and just started stamping. I'm very pleased with the results!

For my 3 shades I used the bright green, the dark green and then the medium brownish gray shade.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with these colors!

Be Happy

As soon as I saw this sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping I knew it would be perfect for a Power Poppy image. I decided to use the Geraniums Take Two set and also played along with the current Hues to Use challenge, which is a bright pink, white and black (at least that's what it looks like to me!).

I colored the geraniums the pink and then brought in the dark color on the pots. I also used black for the card base and for the strip of DSP along the left side. I tried to keep my leaves on the flowers a darker green and more neutral instead of a bright green.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mail for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and for my card I used the Swing N Slides Happy Mail rubber stamp. I just love the Swing N Slides line of stamps at LMMS, the images are so cute! You can find them in the Little Miss Muffet Shop HERE and HERE.

As some may have noticed a lot of my cards have featured a red and yellow theme lately. I just think the colors are so fun and happy together and I'm just really drawn to that combo right now so I used it again on this card. The colors make it perfect for winter greetings, but you could easily switch over to a Christmas theme just by changing up the colors to something more traditional.

Make sure and head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with the Anything Goes challenge!

Coloring for Jingle Belles

I'm cutting it close but I got a card(s) made for the current Jingle Belles challenge, which is to do some type of coloring on your project. I colored up this older image from Heather Ellis, the gal who designs the Pure Innocence Stamps for MFT. I only got one card finished today but I do have 6 of this image colored and ready to finish!

I found the layout on Pinterest HERE.

Be Yourself

I'm almost caught up with the Hues to Use challenges over at the Power Poppy blog! I love that they leave these challenges open so that we can go back and join in the fun whenever we can. This one is from Jan.23 and I just have one more to make up from around Christmas, wooohoo!

For these rich colors I decided to use the Hyacinth Bulb in Glass digital stamp set. The hyacinth are supposed to be the rich plum color but they turned out a tad brighter than I really wanted. Oh well, they still look pretty and I think it's still very close to the plum shade! For the grayish beige color I used my warm gray copics to color in the roots of the flower and I also outlined the image with the gray. The card base is the dark plum color.

This image is perfect for one layer cards, although I guess my card isn't a true one layer card...close enough though :)

Pretty in Pink Tulips

After typing out the blog post title I now have that song in my head...I know I'm dating myself but who else loves the song Pretty in Pink by the Psychedelic Furs....not the movie version but the main version? I love it! Ok, back on track :)

This week for the Power Poppy Hues to Use pink is once again in the colors. I really struggle with pink and so I had to go through my Power Poppy images to see what would work for me. I ended up going with the Tulips Digital Stamp Set and colored them with the dusty rose color. The green is obviously the stems and a pop of it on the patterned paper. I brought in the gray by using it as the card base and as a layer behind the image panel.

Sending Big Hugs

It's Thursday and it's time for Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps. That's right, from now until Sunday the 18th use the coupon THANKS at the LMMS shop to get 20% off your order! It's the perfect time to stock up on digital images or rubber stamp in the store!

Today I'm highlighting a brand new addition to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store today, Polka Dot Pals Jacinda. As soon as I saw her I knew I wanted a sentiment to do with hugs, as it looks she is opening her arms wide to give someone a great big hug! The colors I used on her dress were pulled from the patterned paper I used. I thought the paper was bold and fun just like the image!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes Challenge is still open on the blog so head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store HERE to use your 20% off coupon on some images and then come play along with us, we'd love to see what you create. You can also find all the new images in the store HERE.

Reindeer Greetings

It's time for a new challenge over at The Merry Christmas Challenge and as always it's Anything Goes, however this week the optional theme is reindeer. I love reindeer so I had no problem making that the focus of my card!

The reindeer is from the MFT set Merry Everything and I used the MFT Diagonal Cover Up die to create a quick and easy card. I just pick some patterned paper that I like for the background, adhere that to the cover up and then just add my image and sentiment. Easy peasy and perfect for mass producing cards!

Make sure and head on over to The Merry Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us! Get ahead on your Christmas cards for 2018 and make more time for other fun stuff come December :)

From Your Biggest Fan

I've still got a few Power Poppy Hues to Use Challenges to catch up on, so these cards use the colors from Jan.30. I'm also playing along with the Power and Spark Challenge again with the theme of love. It's so easy to join this challenge with the Va-Va-Valentines Digital Set!

I took these colors and just switched them out on the elements...using the green for the fan blades on one, yellow on the other. I did the same with the background paper, just switching up the colors for each layer. I don't care for the color pink so I kept it to a minimum, using it only for the hearts and lettering.

Nice and simple cards, just like I like it :)

Forget-Me-Not

I played along with Die Cuttin' Divas and the Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenges again. I love this sketch and thought it was the perfect way to highlight this awesome digital stamp from Power Poppy! The dies I used are the heart and the scallop border at the bottom of the card.

The Power and Spark Challenge is all about love and sparkle, you can choose to do both themes or one. I went with the love theme. We don't do Valentines Day in my house, we prefer to celebrate our love for each other every day, so I went with my favorite colors for this card, blue and green. Once again my hoard of paper came to the rescue as this DSP from SU went perfectly with my Forget-Me-Nots. The Alpine Forget-Me-Not is actually the state of flower of Alaska so I have a special fondness. I always look for the flower when out for a hike.

You Mean the Whirl To Me

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week Heidi has a great sketch for us!

I colored up this dragon from SugarPea Designs last week for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge, using colors my 19 year old son found when he googled dragon images. As I started going through my hoard of paper I found some retired SU DSP that matched him beautifully, so my card came together quite quickly. I love it when that happens!

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we want to see how YOU interpret the sketch!

Just for You for LMMS

Happy Thursday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and today I'm using one a new image, Polka Dot Pals Estrella. I really love her because even though she is holding a heart you can use the image for any occasion. As you can see I made the card a general 'for you' one.

I'm really loving red and yellow together right now, it's kind of my new obsession :)

Head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget there is also an LMMS FB group where you can interact with other LMMS fans!

Love You

Today's card features a brand new digital image from Power Poppy called Blossoming Cherry. I really love this stamp because it makes me think of my grandma. Her and my grandpa used to travel all over the US by train and they used to go to Washington D.C. quite often. Grandma always loved it when the cherry blossoms in DC were in bloom, she thought they were so beautiful.

I took the image and put it on my Word document twice, then I turned the branches to try and form a heart shape to fold around the sentiment.

There are a few challenges I played along with for this card.....the colors are from the current Power Poppy Hues to Use, the theme of love and the use of sparkle (I used silver Stickles in the middle of the open flowers) is for the Power Poppy Monthly Power and Spark challenge and last but not least the love theme is also for the Be My Valentine theme at The Paper Players.

So Happy I Found You

This month over at Power Poppy the Power and Spark challenge is all about love and sparkle, you can choose to do both themes or just pick one. I'm not big on sparkle so I went with the love theme.

New Valentines Day digi's were recently released at Power Poppy and this image is from the Va-Va- Valentines Digital Stamp set. How fun is it?! I have 2 mini dachshund puppies that LOVE to steal our socks so this image makes me think about chasing them through the house LOL I'm on a red and yellow kick, I love how bright and happy these colors are together, so that's what I used for my color palette.

My layout is from the new challenge at Die Cuttin Divas. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to use it! I have a feeling this sketch will end up being one of my favorites! My die cut is the oval that the image is placed on, it's from an MFT set.

Getting Text-y for Jingle Belles

This week over at the Jingle Belles blog they want us to make text the focus of our project. This one stumped me, I had a hard time with it for some reason.

I went through my paper stash and found this paper from Carta Bella that has the words from 'Twas the Night Before Christmas on it. After staring at it for a while I cut out a panel with a stitched die and then used a die from Stampin Up to cut out the houses. I then took a stamp of Santa flying through the air and stamped that above the houses. I used red to keep with the theme of the text on the paper, with a brown border behind the text panel.

ASL Thanks

It's time for Inspiration Week over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I'm using PDP Ian, one of LMMS's ASL images. Ian is making the sign for 'thanks' and you can find him in the LMMS store HERE.

Don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open so go on over and play along with us, we'd love to see what you create!
