Sending Peace in Blue

It's been a crazy couple of weeks and I haven't had much time to play along with challenges but today I made time to play along with Power Poppy's Creative Confetti challenge. We were to create a project using the color from the color wheel that corresponded with our birthday month and so I'm Oct., #10, and thankfully got blue! Blue and green are my favorite colors  :)

I already had this image printed out in my stash so I grabbed my copics and then colored it up. I used some old SU DSP that I've hoarded forever for my background paper and the card base is also some blue card stock that I've hung on too forever.

I wanted to keep my card pretty simple (standard for me, ha!) and so I paper pierced the edges of the image panel and that's it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Hues

A big thank you to those who played along with the 200th Challenge at Sunday Stamps, we're happy to have the support!

All the DT members picked a winner from the comments left on their blogs and my winner was Chris Smith. Chris, please email me at alcojo94@yahoo.com with your mailing address so I can get your prize out to you!

This week we have a color challenge and I instantly thought Easter when I saw the colors. I don't celebrate Easter but I like making cards for my friends that do! I used an image from the MFT Pure Innocence line for my card, creating a background with an MFT stencil and then popping up my image on the bottom of the card after coloring it with copics. I used the yellow, the greenish color in the middle and the light blue for my card.

Make sure you visit the rest of the DT to see what they created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with these colors!

Christmas Chickadee

I've had a stressful week and really needed a moment to just go to my craft room and make a card. I had this image colored during the 30 Day Daily Marker Challenge and had set it aside, so when I saw the current challenge at Jingle Belles about making projects with birds on them I went "wooohooo"!

This chickadee is a digital stamp from Power Poppy. I just love chickadees, they are such adorable little birds! I watch them at my feeder all the time, as they are the main bird that sticks around for the winter (along with nuthatches and redpolls).

Make the Moose Out of Life

Sunday is Family Day around my house, our oldest comes over and we watch a movie and have dinner, but I was able to get a quick card done before he got here.

Freshly Made Sketches has a fun layout this week and thanks to the 30 Day Daily Marker coloring challenge that took in Feb I had some colored images around. I decided to create a card using one of the Newton's Nook moose I had colored up.

I used a die from MFT to create the main panel and then embossed it with a folder from SU. I then used a stitched die from Lawn Fawn to create the middle piece. That's the smooth part of the hill my moose snowboarder is hanging out on :) I stamped the sentiment in blue, cut it out with a die and then put the card together, using a Pacific Point card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Moose Mountain (Newton's Nook)

Sunday Stamps 200th Celebration

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and I'm so excited because it's our 200th challenge! To celebrate this milestone each DT member is giving away a prize on their blog to a random comment that is left during the challenge period. Monika will be our blog for international winners so if you live outside of the US make sure and comment on her blog!

For our 200th challenge we have a great sketch from Monika! I took the sketch pretty literally and used a digital stamp from Power Poppy called Gerbera Daisies. I also have a clear stamp set with this image but went with the digital version so I could enlarge it to fit on my card the way I wanted it too.  I used some DSP from SU for my background, I liked how the yellow flowers of the paper looked against my image and the green striped portion went along perfectly with the sketch!

Stamps: Gerbera Daisies (Power Poppy digital stamp), Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas (sentiment, Power Poppy)
Paper: Old Olive (SU), Neenah Solar White, Delightful Daisy DSP (SU retired)
Ink: Old Olive (SU), Printer Ink
Copics: Y02, Y04, Y08
YG03, YG63, YG67
T1
Accessories: MFT Blueprints 20 and 30, dimensionals

So what prize am I offering up as a way to say thank you? I have this fun Mama Elephant Christmas set with matching dies plus 2 Distress Oxide Ink pads!!

One random comment will be chosen and the winner will be announced with our Top Picks on March 23rd. Visit all of the DT blogs to see their creations and then leave a comment for a chance to win on each respective blog but don't forget, Monika will be the only blog choosing a winner from outside the US!
