Orange you glad.....

I made this birthday card?

Okay, okay, bad attempt at humor :P 2 cards in 1 day, can you believe it? I must be sick! LOL

This card was made for this weeks clean and simple challenge over at Splitcoast. The challenge was to make a birthday card using the color orange. As soon as I saw the challenge I instantly had someone in mind...my dads girlfriend. She loves anything to do with birds and her birthday is towards the end of October(I'm the middle of Oct...woot woot for Oct birthdays!) so I knew this stamp set and the orange would be a great combo!

I ran the white cardstock through my Cuttlebug with the dots folder and the patterned paper is from S.E.I. (I love their papers!). Everything else is all SU.

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise stated):
Stamps:Spring Song, Warmest Regards
Paper: Whisper White, PP by S.E.I., watercolor paper
Ink: Black StazOn, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi,Brilliant Blue, Close to Cocoa, Garden Green
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/polka dots folder, Pumpkin Pie ribbon, dimensionals,Aquapainter

Hello Spring!

Today I decided to try the color challenge over at Splitcoast. After looking at the colors given...Barely Banana, Ballet Blue, Old Olive and any neutral...I thought it would be perfect for a simple spring card.

Spring is showing its face here in southcentral Alaska. The buds are getting bigger on the willow trees, robins are in the backyard looking for food, rivers and lakes are no longer covered in ice. I hate to see winter go away, it is my favorite season, but spring and summer offer a lot here too!

Anyway, a decided to use the SU set 'A Kind Word'. I love the images of the little girl and chose the one of her holding a basket of flowers. As I colored it I tried to think of my daughter as a little girl, running carefree, not a care in the world.

Supplies used(all supplies are SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: A Kind Word
Paper: Kraft, Ballet Blue, Barely Banana, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn, Barely Banana, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive
Accessories: Various SU watercolor crayons, blender pen, border punch, Real Red ribbon, Dimensionals

Birthday Greetings

On todays card I incorporated 2 challenges, both from Splitcoaststampers.com. One of the challenges wanted you to use paper piercing on your card and the other challenge was to follow a clean and simple design based on another stampers card.

Since I've been lagging these were good challenges to get me back into the groove.I used white gel pen along the edges that I pierced and then I roughed up the edges of the indivdual squares. Nothing fancy going on here!
Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Happy Moments
Paper: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Black StazOn,Real Red
Accessories: Various SU markers, dimensionals,Riding Hood Red ribbon, paper piercer, white gel pen, silver marker

Could it be?

Yep, I actually made a card! I've been in a serious craft slump lately but the husband helped me out greatly by turning our bdrm closet into a craft space and its really helping me get back into a stamping frame of mind!

With this card I combined several challenges!

1.Sunday Stamps from Holly Beary Creations . This week Holly says "This week we are on the letter “T” So get out those sets and if you don’t have any T’s you can make a card realted to “Twilight” The books or the Movies."
2. The current Clean and Simple challenge at SCS--CAS61
3. The current Color Challenge at SCS--CC265
4. The current Sketch Challenge at SCS--SC275

The color challenge gave me a bit of a fit. The colors to use were Soft Suede(Close To Cocoa), Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise and a neutral of your choice. I was fine with all of the colors except Tempting Turquoise. I really dont care for that color and dont even have any cardstock for it so to incorporate it I used the color in my sentiment.

Everything is Stampin'Up! except for the patterned paper. It was in my extras pile so I dont know who it belongs too but it matched the Certainly Celery really well. I added glitter to some of the swirls on the PP. I used the stamp set "Time Well Spent".

Supplies:
Stamps: Time Well Spent
Paper:Certainly Celery, Soft Suede,Misc PP,Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories: SU Markers(Certainly Celery,Tempting Turquoise,Yoyo Yellow),Buttons,Dimensionals,Glitter
