Pleated Baby Wishes

It's time for another Friday Mashup challenge! This week Amy is bringing us the challenge and it's a fun one! She wants to create a project that uses pleating, create a baby themed project OR mash it up and create a baby project that uses pleating.

I will be the first to admit that I don't particularly do well with projects for babies. Maybe its because my kids are older and I don't deal with anyone on a daily basis that has a baby but I just can never seem to get my creative juices flowing for a project like this.

After some hemming and hawing I finally decided on a neutral baby card that can be given to someone as a congratulations card. I used some retired stamps and DSP to finish the card. The pleating is in the form of some pleated Baja Breeze ribbon.

Make sure to head over to the Friday Mashup blog to see the rest of the cards from the design team, you wont be disappointed!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: A Slice of Life(retired), Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Delicate Dots DSP(retired)
Ink: Black StazOn, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Accessories: Baja Breeze ribbon, dimensionals

Christmas Bingo with Jingle Belles

This week over at the Jingle Belles blog they have a BINGO challenge for us. I immediately saw the bottom row and knew that would be the choice for me....dry or heat embossing, tree and ribbon.

I used the SU set Evergreen, which is in the holiday catalog. I just love this set! I stamped the first tree in Lucky Limeade and then took the lyrics tree stamp(the lyrics are from Silent Night, beautiful song!) and stamped them in red over the green tree. What can I say, I am a sucker for the traditional Christmas colors.

I dry embossed some Lucky Limeade with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and completed that layer with a bow, therefore completing the challenge requirements :)

Such a fun challenge, head over to their blog and check it out!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise stated):
Stamps: Evergreen
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler

Colorful Thanks for Friday Mashup

After missing out on last weeks challenge I am back for The Friday Mashup, wooohooo! This week Liliana has a great challenge for us....you can either create a card with Midnight Muse, Soft Suede, So Saffron and Tempting Turquoise, create a thank you card or you can mash it up and create a thank you card with the colors provided!

Autumn is starting to arrive here in southcentral Alaska.....we've got leaves changing color, days are getting shorter and the mornings are much cooler. I am definitely in the mood for fall so for today's card I mashed it up with a fall theme.

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup blog to check out all the other great cards from the rest of the design team, and then make sure you play along with us!

Going "Owl" Out for Jingle Belles

Being back on my normal schedule means I have more time to play along with my favorite challenges, and do it in a timely manner! Today I played along with the Jingle Belles, using the great sketch that Stef has for us.

This sketch is a great way to highlight some DSP along with an image and that's what I did here. I used some of the busier paper from Snow Festival and then used my Owl Builder Punch to create an owl that goes along with the paper. I think the owls on the paper are super cute and its not something I would have normally thought of for Christmas,  but I do know a bunch of people who love owls so this Christmas card(I'm going to make several) will be perfect for them!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: sentiment from Chock-Full of Cheer
Paper: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Snow Festival DSP
Ink: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Nestabilities Standard Large Circles and Lacey Circles, Owl Builder Punch, sponge, dimensionals

Black and White Wedding Bling for Friday Mashup

It's Friday, woot woot! I'm even more excited because Wednesday was my last day working the special 10 hr shift I took on over the summer and come Monday I am back on nights, yes! This means more stamping time, which is always a good thing.

Today our Friday Mashup challenge is brought to us by Tara and its a good one. She wants us to either create a project using only the colors black and white, create a project that has some bling or combine them and create a black and white project that has some bling on it!

I knew as soon as I saw this challenge that I wanted to use the Love and Laughter set. I usually have a hard time using just black and white but I thought a wedding congratulations card would be good for that combo. For my bling I added pearl accents to the cake and in the corners of the main panel.

I was also able to play along with Freshly Made Sketches and used their great sketch for my card!

Supplies used (all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Love & Laughter
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Black DSP
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories: Big Shot, Lacy Brocade EF, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF, Basic Pearls

We looooove Santa in my house, he is a big part of our Christmas celebration and I knew right away what set I was going to use....the Santa from the Jolliest Time of the Year set (retired). I just love this Santa image, so whimsical and fun! It's hard to see but there is glitter on Santa's hat, coat cuffs and on his jacket.

Sympathy for Sunday Stamps

This week it was up to me to come up with the color challenge for Sunday Stamps and so I chose 3 of my favorite SU colors.....Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pacific Point. I just love these colors (and remember, you don't have to use SU colors, you can use anything close to these ones!), they are so pretty.

Unfortunately I've needed a lot of sympathy cards lately so I decided to make another one as a 'just in case' card. I like CAS cards to begin with but when it comes to sympathy cards I especially like them plain so I didn't do a whole lot in terms of embellishment other than the ribbon. The strip of Pacific Point is embossed and the edges of all layers(other than the main image panel) are sponged with their respective colors.

I sure hope that you'll head over to the Sunday Stamps blog and check out all the great inspiration from the rest of the design team! We'd also love to have you play along with us!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise stated):
Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts
Paper: Old Olive, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Polka Dot Parade DSP
Ink: Black StazOn, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Accessories: Big Shot, Framelits Labels, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF, Old Olive ribbon (retired)
