Going Clear for Jingle Belles

Because I work nights I'm always up later than everyone else in the house, even on weekends. After my husband and youngest went to bed Sunday night I headed into my craft room and worked until the wee hours on a card for the current Jingle Belles challenge.

For this challenge we were to use at least one see through element on our card. I started going through my hoard of DSP because I knew I had something that would fit the bill and sure enough, I had some retired SU Christmas DSP that was clear with red velvet in a pattern. I took the clear DSP and attached a backing of white card stock, as I wanted the card base to be red and without the white backing the clear DSP and it's design would just blend in to the background. I created a white scallop frame with an MFT die and then adhered all of that to the red card base. The sentiment on the front is an older retired SU stamp, and the 2 label dies I used are also retired SU. I was throwing it back with all of the products on this card LOL

Thanks for stopping by! There is still time to play along with the Jingle Belles challenge so go check them out!

Somebunny Thinks You're Special

It's Sunday and time for a new Sunday Stamps challenge, and this week we have a color challenge!

I love the MFT Somebunny set and when I saw these colors I instantly thought of the little bunnies in the set. The current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches also helped jumpstart the ideas for how I could use these bunnies and colors!

I took the sketch and turned it, as it worked better with what I was going for. The bunnies were colored with copics and then I die cut the star and then pierced along it's edges to help it pop more visually. I made it so one of the bunnies was peeking out from behind the star and the adhered the other bunny to the front of the star. To help tie in the paper piercing I pierced along the edges of the main layer across the card front.

Head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created with these colors and then play along with us! There is also time to still join in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge also!

You Made My Day

**If you are looking for my LMMS post please go HERE**

Today is my first DT Spotlight as the new member of the Kitty Bee Designs team and for my card today I chose to showcase an adorable owl that makes me smile!

This digital image is called Kawaii "Ms"Owl and I colored her with copics. How fun is that little flower up by her ear? I wanted the image to be the main focus of the card so I kept everything else pretty simple (I know, I know, I'm all about simple!). The layout was inspired by last weeks Freshly Made Sketch.

If you love this sweet owl as much as I do you can find her HERE, and if you'd like to see my DT Spotlight post then go check me out at the Kitty Bee Designs Blog HERE.

Have a great day!

More Love for LMMS

Happy Thursday! It's time for a new challenge at the LMMS blog and I used one of the new images again, Polka Dot Pals Soleil. I love that she is doing the ASL sign for love (crossed arms across the chest)!

I chose bright, fun colors to use on this card. I just really like how the lines of the paper pop against the square image panel. The image panel is popped up for extra dimension.

Make sure you head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then play along with us! It's an Anything Goes challenge so the possibilities are endless!

Sign Love for LMMS

It's time for Inspiration Week at LMMS and I'm so excited to share a brand new image with everyone. Her name is Polka Dot Pals Soleil and she is doing the ASL sign for love (the crossed hands across the chest). In case folks didn't know, my oldest is deaf and so I LOVE (see what I did there, hahaha) finding stamps that incorporate ASL.

Even though the card is about love I didn't want to go with the color red. I love the color green and my deaf son loves the color yellow so I used those on my card, plus a touch of a soft coral. This makes the card perfect for any occasion where you just want to send a little love!

Make sure and head on over to the LMMS FB group to see more inspiration from the rest of the DT and then head on over the the LMMS Anything Goes challenge and play along with us!

Something I LOVE? Having this mama moose and her baby in my yard for several hours  Weds evening!!

Thank You

When I was at work the other night it popped into my head that I had forgotten to send my FIL a thank you card for the gifts he sent for Christmas. Not good! Thankfully the Cupcake Inspirations blog has a challenge this week that was perfect for what I needed and so I got to work this afternoon on a quick card.

The colors for the challenge are red, white and black. I have this retired DSP from SU that is black and white and while it is flowers/foliage I think it's still ok to send to a male, as it is not overly feminine. Plus my FIL likes flowers so it's all good LOL

This card was super easy, I used a die to cut the DSP panel and then used some strips I have left over from another die to stamp the sentiment on and boom, card done! I love it when cards come together so quickly!

There are still a few days left to play along with the challenge so go check them out!

Oh What Fun

The current challenge at Jingle Belles ends tomorrow and I wanted to play along so I had to hurry and get a card made this afternoon!

They have a guest this challenge, Leslie Turner, and her prompt was "create a project that includes snow... snowflakes, snowmen or a snowy landscape".

I went with a digital image from Mo Manning called Valerie in Winter. There are 3 images in the set and they are all adorable but I especially love this particular image. We lost our beautiful beagle mix Spike Sept.15, 2016 and this winter has made me miss him even more, as we have over 4 ft of snow and I think about how we had to shovel a pathway in the yard for him during our snowy winters. All you could see was his black and white head bobbing up and down on the path, peeking out over the snow drifts.

After I sized the image to what I wanted I printed it out, cut the image area out with a die and then colored it with copics. The sentiment is an older retired one from SU and I thought it was perfect for this image.

I'm also entering this card in the DP2 Anything Goes challenge for Mo Manning images!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'd Crumble for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps and this time we have a nice sketch. I love how nice and simple it is, those are my favorite type of sketches!

I'm finishing up a card order for a friend, we do a big exchange every year...she sends me a fabulous calendar made from her stunning photos and I send her 30 cards. I like to include different types of cards and I thought she'd like this one and the sentiment.

I stamped the image several times and then used my ScanNCut to cut them out, and then I colored the image with copics. The DSP is retired from SU but I liked the colors and I'm trying to use up my DSP hoard before buying anything new! The sentiment panel is actually some panels that are left when I cut from an MFT cover up die so when I saw them sitting there I thought it would be a great way to use these panels, instead of them just collecting dust in a container.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Feeling the Love

It's time for another challenge at the LMMS blog and this week I made a card inspired by something I've been seeing a lot of lately....moose! Since we have so much snow the moose are coming down into the neighborhood in large groups in order to get food and to walk easier. Unfortunately this means there have been a lot of moose vs car collisions lately, which is the bad part of having them down from the hills. My husband hit a moose in March of last year and it's not a fun thing. My husband was fine but the young moose was killed on impact and our car was totaled.

Anyway, I am using one of my favorite images from LMMS, it's called Moose Love. I just love this mama and her baby. A couple of months and there will be lots of little moose running around!

I used an oval to frame my image and decided to use polka dots for my background. I love the brown with the yellow, I think it makes a nice combo. I kept it nice and simple with no sentiment, as this image can really be used for just about any occasion.

Make sure to head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge Blog to play along with us and to see what the rest of the DT came up with. You can find the Moose Love image HERE.

One of the moose that was in my yard the other day. This particular visitor was also there with a sibling and their mom. I went to grab my trash can from the end of my driveway and found them in the woods along the driveway instead!

Your're An 11 for LMMS

It's Inspiration week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I used the adorable image called Maurice Hot Stuff. How cute is he? I seriously smile every time I look at this guy!

I love dark colors, and I really love the color blue, so I decided to make his tshirt blue and his shorts a brownish gray with red hearts. Since he is perfect for a Valentines Day card I went with red accents for the card. The sentiment is an older one from Stampin Up but I thought it went great with this image!

Make sure you head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Stamps FB group to see the rest of the inspiration from the DT and then don't forget, the LMMS Anything Goes Challenge is still open to play along with!

I Really Moose You

Thanks to Instagram I learned about a new (to me )challenge, the Cupcake Inspirations blog. They use a cupcake image to inspire and theme or color palette. This week the theme is plaid so of course I had to make time to play along. I LOVE plaid!

My friend Susan lives a few hours north of me in North Pole Alaska and she is an amazing photographer. Every year she puts out a calendar and we trade services....I send her a large pkg of cards for one of her calendars. I'm finishing up the card for her and pulled out some retired green plaid DSP to make some moose cards. These were so simple to make but I just love how the card came out and I know she will love them too. We've got about 4 ft of snow in my part of Alaska and we have moose all over right now. They come down to the lower elevations for food and to escape the deep snow by walking on the roads or established trails in the area.

Thanks for stopping by!
