Forsythia for Sunday Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps, and this week we have a fun color challenge for everyone!

As soon as I saw the graphic for this weeks challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Stampin Up! Has a set in their mini catalog called Delightful Wishes and when I saw it I thought about growing up in MA and all the forsythia we had. I just adore the delicate yellow flowers on forsythia plants and just had to make my card with this set.

I'm not going to lie, I had a vision and I got right to it, lost in my own little world. It wasn't until I was done with the card that I realized my vision and the challenge colors didn't quite sync up. Oooops. Thankfully I still had everything out and I went right back to work, this time creating a card using the challenge colors.

My first card:

My layout was inspired by the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the design team created and then play along with us, we've love to see how you interpret the colors! There is also still time over at Freshly Made Sketches to play along with them!

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this year we've changed things a little bit. Instead of sketch, color challenge, sketch, etc we are switching it up to sketch, sketch, color challenge. Everyone seems to love the sketches more, myself included!

For this weeks sketch I used Claire's great design to create a card for my grandson for Valentine's Day. He turned 2 in December and his personality is really coming out. His mom and dad will ask him what animal makes what sound and his little "rawr" for a dinosaur is just the cutest thing ever! The image I used is a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Woodland Wonder

Is anyone still out there? I know it's been a very, very long time since I posted on here last. Life has been keeping me very busy and I let crafting fall by the wayside. I'm hoping to be better about that this year!

There is a brand new challenge over at Sunday Stamps and this week it's a color challenge. The graphic happens to be my very favorite mushroom, Amanita Muscaria, commonly known as Fly Agaric. I know fall is approaching in southcentral Alaska when I see these popping up all over the place!

For my card I used a set from Power Poppy called Wild Mushrooms. The clear set is no longer available but you can still grab some digital images HERE. I used copic markers to color the image and then cut the image out with a die from MFT. The card base is white and the patterned paper is a fabulous design from SU that I've been hoarding. I just love this paper!!
