Simple I Love You for LMMS

It's time for Inspiration Week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm keeping it simple with one of my favorite images, Polka Dot Pals Soleil, who is making the ASL sign for 'love'.

I love this horizontal cover up die, it makes it so easy to create fast and simple cards. For this card I picked out the heart patterned paper from my sash, secured it to the pink frame and then adhered that to the pink card base. The sentiment was stamped in SU Rose Red to match some of the hearts on the paper and then I used my copic markers to color in the image with colors also pulled from the patterned paper. I did pop the image up for added dimension. Super quick card with a sweet message, you can't beat that!

Don't forget, the Anything Goes Challenge is still happening over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog so make sure you head on over there and play along with us! Also, stop by the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store and check out all the new images HERE.

You're the Best for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this week I'm using a new image called Polka Dot Pals Bethany! I took one look at her and instantly thought of my daughter when she was a small little blond toddler, full of all kinds of sass, and so that was my inspiration when coloring this fun girl.

I was stumped for a while on how to do my card layout but as I sat looking at my craft desk I spotted the Distress Oxide inks I had laying there and decided to grab one of my MFT stencils and create a fun little background for PDP Bethany. I used Fossilized Amber and Cracked Pistachio along with the MFT Geometric Grid to get my background and then I popped my image up with dimensionals over it. Super easy but still visually fun!

Make sure and head over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open!

Flowers For Her

It's time for mid week inspiration over at the Aloha Friday Challenge and this week the challenge is all about girly cards. I'm not much of a girly girl so I decided to go with something that makes me, and most girls, smile....flowers!

Fred, She Said Designs is one of the sponsors for this challenge and I used their fun set Happy Flowers. It's a very versatile set and you can create a beautiful garden with these images! I chose to combine an image of a pot containing 3 flowers and then 2 images with one flower in a pot. I colored them to match the card stock I was using. You can find this digital set HERE.

My sketch came from the current Freshly Made Sketches layout.

Make sure to head on over to the Aloha Friday Challenge blog to join in the girl fun, we'd love to see what you come up with!

Sage and Coral for Power Poppy

A new Hues to Use challenge came out this week at Power Poppy and so I put my paint brush down, let the puppies run wild around the house and sat down to create this afternoon.

I chose to use the digital stamp set Well Hello Dahlia for my card. I used the coral and yellow colors for the flowers and incorporated the sage on the flower stems and with the main base for the card. It's a good thing I hoard paper because I knew my Sage Shadow card stock would be perfect for this challenge! It is a darker shade than what the photo is portraying.

My layout came from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by!

Square Colors for Friday Mashup

This week at The Friday Mashup Tara is our hostess and she wants us to use the colors Gray, Pink and Sky plus make a square card.

I decided to use the set You've Got This. I stamped the flowers in Versamark on Pink Pirouette card stock and them embossed the flowers in white. I then fussy cut the flowers out of the card stock. The top flower is popped up with dimensionals above the other two. The background behind the flowers was stamped in Soft Sky and the sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate. The card base is Smoky Slate with a layer of Soft Sky beneath the Whisper White image panel.

Make sure to head over to The Friday Mashup blog to see what the rest of the DT did and then play along with us!

Here's your Mashup Challenge this week:
  • Create a project using the colors "Pink, Grey & Sky".
  • Create a "Square shaped card".
  • or Mash it Up and created  a "Square shaped card using the above colors".

Butterflies and Lace for Friday Mashup

This week at The Friday Mashup Cynthia is our hostess and she'd like to see projects with butterflies and lace on them.

I thought for sure I had some lace left over from my cross stitching days but as I dug through my drawers I began to get worried. Finally, wayyyyyy down in the recesses of my thread drawer I found some blue lace that matched the Night of Navy DSP I had pulled out. It was a big bigger than I had wanted but I made it work.

I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the retired Framed Tulips TIEF and adhered it to a card base of Night of Navy. I used some retired Night of Navy DSP to cover up the bottom half of the card. I then adhered the lace across the card.

I used the Butterflies Thinlets to make 2 butterflies, one in Daffodil Delight and one in Night of Navy. They were popped up with dimensionals on the card.

Make sure and head over to The Friday Mashup blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

-Create a project "with lace on it".

Watermelon Poppies for Friday Mashup

Wait, what? Watermelon poppies? No, I haven't lost my mind, I promise! That's just part of the challenge Lynda has for us this week at The Friday Mashup, the colors of a watermelon......Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black and Whisper White.

As you can see I decided to use the Pleasant Poppies set. I colored the flowers with Melon Mambo and the stems were colored with Wild Wasabi. From the Bitty Banner set I stamped the birthday sentiment in Black StazOn and used the matching framelit to cut the banner out. The DSP is from last years color stacks and I used Basic Black with the pop of Melon Mambo in the middle. The layout was inspired by a Try Stamping on Tuesday sketch I saw on Pinterest (I believe its #96).

Lynda also wants us to use a wooden element on our card but I do not own any, so that's why my card doesn't have one, sorry Lynda!

I hope you'll come by The Friday Mashup blog to see all the great projects from the rest of the DT, and then play along with us!

- Use the following colors: Melon Mambo, Wild wasabi, Basic Black & Whisper White (watermelon theme)
- Use a wood element on your card
- Or mash it up and create a card with the above colors and also use a wood element on your card

Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Itty Bitty Banners

Getting Punchy for Friday Mashup

It's Friday, woohooo! It's my last Friday working days this summer, I go back to nights on Monday and I am so happy. It will mean less crafting time but I am sooooo not a morning person, I much prefer going to bed at 4am and sleeping during the day. This also means fall is just around the corner, another reason to be excited!

Friday Mashup challenges also get me excited and this week is no different. I love to see what my fellow DT members come up with and a lot of the time its something I've never tried before and I like that they make me think outside of the box. Avery is our hostess for this challenge and she wants to see some punch art mixed with pom poms! What a fun way to mix things up!

Now, I will admit that I was a bit stumped by the punch art simply because its not something I do. I surfed the net (ok, mainly Pinterest) for ideas and finally decided to do a tab punch dress. It reminds me of my daughter as she is very girly girl and loves her dresses.....the complete opposite of me! I used Real Red to punch the top of the dress out and then used a scallop punch for the bottom half. The edges were sponged on both pieces for a bit more definition. I used some Real Red ribbon to create a belt and I added a single small black pom pom as an accent, along with some pearls along the neckline.

My card base is Crumb Cake and I created another panel in Crumb Cake and embossed it with the Modern Mosaic folder. I sponged it with Crumb Cake for added dimension again. The banners are cut from Fresh Prints DSP and Whisper White.

My layout came from the current challenge at The Paper Players. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew the dress would work perfectly!

Make sure you head over to both The Friday Mashup and The Paper Players to check out both challenges!

  • Create a project with "Pom Poms".
  • Create a project with "Punch Art:.
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "Punch Art project with Pom Poms on it".

Simple Happy Birthday

I was happy that a post from Freshly Made Sketches popped up in my reader, I realized I hadnt played along with their latest sketch. It's a great one this week and can be interpreted in many ways!

I kept it simple and used colors I've been going too a lot lately, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight. They are just so pretty together, I love it. I used Gingham Garden DSP and let that be the main focal point behind the sentiment. For a little contrast I embossed a panel of Daffodil Delight and affixed the Gingham Garden DSP panel to it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchy Birthday with Bling

Today was an absolutely miserable day in southcentral Alaska. We're having VERY unusual weather and the temp at my house hit 95 degrees (our normal temp this time of year is 65-70 degrees)....yes, outside temp for Alaska. So I did what any good Alaskan who hates the heat does, I sat in my dark  craft area with the fans going and stamped! :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps and the bling challenge from The Paper Players. Adding bling is really hard for me, I'm not really a "bling" person, so I hope adding the pearls counts! If not I'll try again :)

The sentiment was cut out and popped up with dimensionals and the main image panel is also popped up with dimensionals. I tried to leave the left hand side of the card blank like in the sketch but I just needed a little something over that way, hence the addition of the butterfly(with more pearls for bling).

Supplies used (all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Apothecary Art
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Sunshine and Sprinkles(retired)
Ink: Black StazOn, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Watercolor Crayons, butterfly already cut and in my stash, Big Shot, Framelits Labels Collection, Basic Pearls, Blender Pen, sponge, dimensionals

Shapely Girls for Friday Mashup

Hahaha, did that title have you scratching your head? I was trying to be creative when introducing this weeks Friday Mashup challenge, which is brought to us by Erica this week. She wants us to use hexagons on our project and also make it girly...she is mom to 3 girls so she knows all about girly things!

Now I have a daughter, and she is the complete opposite of me because yes, she is girly and I am not! I am a huge tomboy and I admit it, I have a hard time coming up with projects that are supposed to be feminine. I usually make something with pink but with this card I promised myself I would stay away from that color (mainly because I hate the color pink LOL)

For the layout my inspiration came from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches. I haven't played along in a while and really like the sketch Rita has for us so I thought now would be the perfect time.

I included hexagons by using the DSP, which has them, and also by embossing the panel behind the main image. In the picture the Very Vanilla panel really stands out but in person it looks really nice against the DSP. Both the image and the panel with the embossed hexagons are popped up with dimensionals.

Some people may not agree with me but I thought this card was pretty girly, with the colors used and then the ribbon along the side. Girly for me anyway I guess LOL

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup to check out what the rest of the design team came up with, and then play along with us.

  1. Create a project using "Hexagons".
  2. Create a "Girly project".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Girly project using Hexagons".

Saffron and Indigo Birthday for Her

A friend of mine needed a birthday card for her daughter so what better reason to play along with this weeks sketch over at Seize the Birthday, since is a feminine card this week!

I used one of my favorite sets, Apothecary Arts. These images are so pretty and great for feminine cards. I took my colors, Island Indigo and So Saffron,  straight from the DSP I used( Tea For Two DSP from the spring mini). The main image panel is popped up with dimensionals as is the sentiment going across the panel. Soft sponging on all the layers gives the card a little more depth.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone is having a great Sunday! We're in the middle of a snowstorm with another big one due tomorrow and I am loving it!! :)

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Apothecary Arts
Paper: Island Indigo, Naturals White, Tea for Two DSP

Ribbons, Pearls, and Girls.....

I love Fridays! Not just because its the end of the work week and I have the weekend to relax, but because its time for another Friday Mashup challenge! This week our challenge is brought to us by Holly, and the Mashup Rock Star  chosen this week wins an OPI Pirates of the Caribbean mini set. will get the Mini Set of OPI's Femme De Cirque Collection.

So get crafty and either make a feminine card, make a card using ribbon or pearls OR MASHUP the challenges and create a feminine card using ribbons and pearls! A random winner will win the Pirates of the Caribbean OPI set.

I am sooooo not a girly girl so this challenge was a toughie for me! I'm more of a jeans and hoodie type of girl, rather than ribbon and pearls! I know Holly wanted to see some pink incorporated but I used some Rose Red cardstock...close enough right? I love flowers, and I figure *most* girls do, so I incorporated some nice flowery DSP that wasnt too overwhelming, and added the pearls as accents to some of the flowers.

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Baby Blossoms
Paper: Crumb Cake, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage
Ink: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Very Vanilla ribbon, pearls, CB Swiss Dots folder, sponge
