Thanksgiving Wreath

It's been a bit hectic for me and I'm behind on playing with challenges. For today's card I am playing along with last weeks Hues to Use over at Power Poppy. I just love these rich fall colors!

I decided to use the digital stamp Bittersweet Wreath. I thought the little berries would be perfect for the orange and yellow, and the green brought in on the little leaves. I decided to place the sentiment underneath the wreath, and then because I felt it was too stark I sponged the edges of the panel in a light brown to give it more of an aged look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ghost Hugs for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I went with a Halloween theme. I used a terrific image from the shop called Polka Dot Pals Ghostly. It's easy to color and offers up a ton of possibilities for card layouts. I decided to keep mine simple and make Ghostly the focus of the card with a tame background so I didn't detract from the image. I used a sentiment from MFT to finish the card off.

Make sure and head on over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and don't forget, the Anything Goes challenge is still open so play along for a chance to with a gift certificate to the LMMS store!

There is also a guest DT call going until Oct.2nd, so if you are looking to join the LMMS team check out the blog HERE for more info!

Souper Cool

I made this card for one of the teachers at the school I work at. She teaches Home Ec and last week she left me a plate of goodies and a bowl of pea soup that her class had made. I wanted to let her know that I appreciated her thinking of me so I whipped up this card for her.

Moose Wonderful Time of Year

It's time for a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this time I'm going with a Christmas card. This moose image and sentiment came out last year and it's one of my favorite LMMS images! I can never resist an awesome moose stamp!

I used Word to position my sentiment and then I changed the color of sentiment to green from black. Then I took the moose image and got it positioned over the sentiment the way I wanted it, printed it out and then cut out the image panel with a die. The moose was colored in with copics.

Make sure to head over to the LMMS blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you create!

Geraniums on Kraft

This week the monthly challenge over at Power Poppy is all about coloring on Kraft. I have never done that before so I was pretty nervous, I'm not even going to lie. I gave it a try though and I don't think it came out too bad!

I used the Power Poppy clear set Geraniums Take 2 for my card. I stamped the image and then began to color it with my copics. I waited for each layer of coloring to dry before I added more ink as the color lightens up on the card stock as it drys. When I got to my desired darkness I trimmed out the image and went to work on putting the card together.

I was just going to do the strip of red patterned paper behind the image panel but the card base looked boring to me so I decided to use a retired SU background stamp and used Crumb Cake ink to get my background image. I then adhered the red patterned paper across the middle, popped up the image panel with dimensionals and then stamped the sentiment to the right of the image.

Thanks for stopping by!

Good Things for The Paper Players

I had colored this image the other day for the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge and set it aside until I decided what I wanted to do with it. I was scrolling through my blogger feed Saturday night and saw The Paper Players new challenge, which is a CAS Harvest theme. My newly colored image was perfect for this!

The fall colors here in southcentral Alaska will be peaking soon and my mind is completely on autumn and all the fun things to come.....decorating for Halloween, trick or treaters coming by (hopefully, we usually don't get many in my area), prepping for Thanksgiving and then of course my favorite, Christmas! For the next 2 months pumpkins will play a big part in my decor so this fun digital image from Power Poppy really speaks to me right now! I used my copics to color in the main image and then I used my computer to change the sentiment color to orange from black. I used a die to cut out the image panel and then adhered the panel to a card base of Tangerine Tango. I didn't want to take away from the image so left the rest of the panel very clean and simple, no embellishments of any kind!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Country Christmas

This past week was pretty crazy so I didn't have much time to get craft, and then we went to Anchorage on Saturday for the second weekend in a row to go watch the It movie and do some shopping. Today is finally my lazy day and so I've been trying to catch up in my craft room!

Today's card combines 2 challenges...the Hues to Use colors from Power Poppy and a tic-tac-toe challenge from Jingle Belles. The Power Poppy colors were used as a last ode to summer on their blog but I instantly saw Christmas colors!

I brought the red and the lighter green from the color challenge into the ornaments hanging off the branches. The darker green was brought in on the package and the DSP I used for the background. I used neutrals for watering can, branches and DSP.

For the tic-tac-toe I went with red/card stock/bling. It's hard to see but I used Stickles on the berries on and on the package. The red isn't the main color but it's definitely on the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Thanks

I'm a tad late getting my Sunday Stamps card up but here it is!

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a color challenge, some nice bright colors that are perfect for autumn themed cards. I used a sentiment stamp from SugarPea Designs as my focal point and stamped it in the purple from the challenge. I brought in the orange and turquoise (I used a more muted shade) with my background papers and the leaves.

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

Lil Spook for LMMS

This week at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog we have Inspiration Week and I'm trucking along with more Halloween. This time I've used an image called Swing N Slides Lil' Spook....how cute is he? I colored the image with copics and for the background behind him I used Distress Oxide inks and water to get a night time kind of look.

Don't forget, there is still time to play along with our Anything Goes Challenge!

Get Wool Soon

A new Hues to Use came out on the Power Poppy blog on Tuesday and when I saw the colors I immediately thought of this set, Get Wool Soon. It's in the 50's in my neck of the woods, with clouds and rain, so I know there are a lot of  knitters hunkering down in front of the fire as Alaska ushers in fall, with winter right behind.

Blue is my favorite color so I decided to use the 2 different shades of blue on the yarn and also use it as the card base and some accents. I brought in the orange on the cup , labels and the fun plaid paper from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by!
