Life Is an Adeventure

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a fun sketch from Melissa!

The sketch uses squares but I happened to grab this new SU set, Beautiful World, that is coming out next week in the new catalog and I ended up using circle elements instead. I'm a big fan of earthy colors so I really love the colors of this new DSP!

I did keep the sentiment panel as a rectangle and used Mossy Meadow to stamp my sentiment on Crumb Cake. I popped up both the globe and sentiment panel with dimensionals.

Happy Birthday

TGIF! The week is finally over and my husband and I both took all of next week off. We're going to do 2 road trips...one to head north to Denali National Park and one to head south to the Kenai Peninsula for some fishing. I'm just happy to be getting out and enjoy what I love most, nature!

Another way to enjoy nature is through Power Poppy stamps and some Friday Fun! I'm also playing along with the current Creative Confetti challenge, which is to create a card featuring your favorite flower. That was easy for me, I instantly grabbed a digital stamp I had cut out and waiting on my desk, the image from the Pansies digital set. I adore pansies and violas, they are just such beautiful flowers! The purple and yellow ones are the ones I always grow/buy, I adore how they look in my flower beds and containers. It's funny, I can't stand the color purple except for when it's on a flower, and then to combine it with some yellow? Yes please!!

My layout is from a recent sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I dry embossed the background and then I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a strip on purple to match the card base. I popped up the pansy image for some added dimension. The sentiment is from the Party Time clear set. I am always in need of birthday cards so that's why I chose this sentiment.

If you love this pansy image it's on sale for $2.49! There are still lots of great sets on sale over at the Power Poppy online store so make sure you go check them out and grab all the ones you don't have :)

Seeds of Today

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog and this week we have a pretty color challenge!

With graduation time upon us I was thinking about several of my friends who have kids graduating this year, and of all the seniors at the school I work with who had their virtual graduation last week. It's such a tough time to be embarking on a new chapter in life. I think the sentiment in this Power Poppy image Seeds of Today is just perfect, especially with all that is going on in the world.

For my card I used the green, red, light pink and dark purple from the graphic.

Sending Sunny Vibes

Whew! I know it's been a bit between posts but my mojo seems to have gone and disappeared. Being on day shift seems to have sucked out all of my creativity....when I get home from work I need to get chores done and then I am just too tired to go play in my craft room. I'm taking the last week of May off to give myself a mental break so hopefully I'll get back into stamping everyday!

One thing I absolutely had to make time for was Friday Fun over at the Power Poppy blog! I miss playing with my Power Poppy stamps so much. I just got a big order of Power Poppy clear stamps yesterday and my collection is almost complete, wooohooo! If you are like me and cannot resist Power Poppy images they are still on sale for super low prices so hurry on over to the Power Poppy store and grab them while you can!

For this card I used a digital stamp set called Spring Border One. You can also find these images in the Natural Beauties clear set (currently sold out) but I went with digital so I could resize the image to fit the die I was using.

This image definitely gets one thinking about spring! It's still too early to put flowers in the ground here but I've got a bunch potted and I bring them outside everyday to sit in the sun and then I bring them back in at night. Maybe having our living room and dining room overrun with flowers will help my hubby realize that I need a greenhouse :)

Great Guy

It's Sunday and it's time for a new challenge over at the Sunday Stamps blog. This week we have a fun sketch from Amy to play with!

For my card I used a great masculine set from Stampin Up called A Good Man. I love the images and sentiments in this set, they are all great, but I tend to gravitate towards this image of  guy relaxing in a beach chair. It reminds me of the vacations we used to take with my dad to the Navy resort in Pacific Beach WA. He'd fly in from CO and we would drive down and spend a few days at the resort, with most of the days spent enjoying the solitude of the beach, as we always had a huge stretch to ourselves. What I wouldn't give to be able to take one more trip there with my dad...

Make sure you head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the team created and then play along with us, we'd love to see how you interpret the sketch!

Fly Guy

Hello friends! I hope everyone has had a good week. Mine went by pretty fast and now I just need to get my lists in order for the chores that need to be done this weekend. My husband has a 3-day weekend so I've got a little honey-do list for him, hehehehe.

Since it's Friday you know what that means.....Friday Fun Day over at the Power Poppy blog! I don't know about you but I love seeing all the projects everyone comes up with, all the ladies just wow me with their creativity

For my card I used one of my favorite digital sets, Fly Guy. My husband loves to fish and in the last few years  has taken up fly fishing. Most of our rivers and lakes are still frozen over but he's already got his fishing gear out and is waiting for something to come open so he can head out. I don't have the patience for fishing but I love to eat the reward :)
