Grateful for Friend

To celebrate World Card Making Day, which was on Sat. Oct.5, Power Poppy is having a little challenge. We are to :
  • Create on this World Card Making day with a fall theme in mind!
  • We will enter your card twice if you create with fall in mind and use a sentiment that shares a theme of gratitude!
  • We will enter your card three times if you create with fall in mind, use a sentiment of gratitude AND use a Power Poppy stamp!

I spent World Card Making Day in Anchorage with my husband and our oldest but I did get this image printed and cut out with a die in preparation for getting a card made! It's taken me a few days, life is a tad crazy this week, but I got my card done Tues afternoon! I went with a bit of an abstract feel to it. I was going to pull out the patterned paper like I normally do but then I figured why not just try something a little different. I have a friend that will love this card so it will be sent to her with a note inside letting her know how very grateful I am to call her a friend.

It's 4am here and I'm off to bed, I'll include the details below the card when I wake up!

Love You to the Core

The current challenge over at The Paper Players blog is all about apples and it's perfect because I've had this Pure Innocence image sitting on my craft desk for a few weeks now. I had colored it and then just kind of pushed it to the side, so the apple challenge was the perfect motivation I needed to get it made into a card!

I used yellow and green for the colors of the girls clothing so I grabbed some of my favorite retired SU DSP that I've been hoarding. I love polka dots and I love these colors together so I created a very simple background with this DSP on my red card base. I added the sentiment to the inside of the card and pulled it all together by putting a strip of the Old Olive polka dot paper across the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by!
