Needless to say Sara's challenge for us at The Friday Mashup came at the perfect time, as I will be sticking this card in my daughters luggage to read when she gets to the Lower 48. So whats the challenge? Sara wants us to use a background stamp and to also have a 3D item on our project.
I used the stamp World Map for my background and although its hard to tell, I used 3 different colors to ink it up......Mossy Meadow, Island Indigo and Soft Suede. I took the globe from the Traveler set and inked that up with the exact same colors and stamped it on some Whisper White and cut that with the Window Frame Framelits. I stamped the image on a scrap piece of paper and cut out the globe portion. I took the stylus from the Simply Scored Tool and moved it around in circles on the back of the globe. This puffs up the globe and makes it pop off the page (I know, you cant really tell in the photo but I promise the globe does puff out off the card!). I layered the Whisper White piece on a piece of Mossy Meadow also cut with the Window Frames Framelits and popped the whole thing up with dimensionals. To finish it off I added a sentiment from Just Sayin', one that fits the way my heart feels!
I hope you'll head over to The Friday Mashup blog to see the rest of the great projects from the DT, and then play along with us!

Aww, my son just moved out and I feel your pain, Lisa. Its so hard to let a bird fly out of the nest. Love your card and I'm sure your daughter will, too. The images are so appropriate. Also, thanks for having me as a guest at Friday Mashup!
ReplyDeleteLisa, such a cute idea to puff out the globe. I know you're daughter will love the card. I hope she doesn't get too homesick!!
ReplyDeleteLisa, you've made the perfect card to give to your daughter. My daughter moved out a couple of years ago, but just moved back to start college in the fall. Talk about readjustments for all of us! lol You managed to mashup things perfectly on your card and I have to admit when I use that background stamp I tend to use those colors too! They look so good together. Great idea with the globe! Next time I use that stamp I'll have to give it a try.

Gorgeous with attention to detail as always, Lisa. Best wishes to your daughter. It will be hard to have her so far away but social media will keep you in touch. I understand how difficult it is to be away with two sons in other states.
