Pencil Splash for Friday Mashup

Happy Friday! It's the first day of summer vacation here in southcentral Alaska, kids got out of school Thursday! Time to kick back and enjoy the time with my kids...my youngest enters high school this fall and my middle child starts college, time goes by too fast.

I did slow down to get this weeks Friday Mashup done, and this week our challenge comes from Heidi. She wants us to use pencil in our project, and also include a splash of color along with a neutral. I wont lie, the pencil part of the challenge really threw me for a loop and it took me a bit to figure out what I was going to do. I ended up choosing the truck image from the Countryside set(retiring, boo!) and colored it in with pencils, and then used Riding Hood Red to watercolor in other areas of the truck. I sure hope this use of pencil meets what Heidi was looking for!

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup blog to check out what the rest of the design team came up with!
  1. Create a project using "your choice of a Neutral & a Splash of one Bright Color".
  2. Create a project "using a Pencil (regular graphite #2)".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "using pencil & your choice of a neutral & a Splash of a Bright Color".

  2. Wow Lisa, using a pencil would have thrown me for a loop too! But I think you rocked the pencil and the red goes nicely with the neutral.

  3. Fabulous masculine card Lisa - love the grey and red combo and the pencil coloured truck is the perfect focal point!
