Snowflakes for Friday Mashup

Did everyone have a good holiday? We had a great time opening gifts Christmas morning, and then we went as a family and volunteered at a big dinner held in Wasilla called the Friendship Dinner. It was our first time volunteering at the dinner and we had a blast! We met a bunch of new people and I was wished "Merry Christmas" more times that day then in my whole life, and I loved it! We agreed as a family that we'll definitely be doing it again next yr.

I'm still on vacation so I've been lounging around the house since Christmas Day and got today's Friday Mashup card all done. I have to say that the challenge....using snowflakes and the colors provided....had me using a few not-so-family friendly words. Not because its a bad challenge but because we have almost NO snow here! We were supposed to get snow on Christmas Day but had high winds instead, and that causes a drying effect in this area. Last winter we had the snowiest winter on record and I guess we're being punished for that this year :/

The challenge comes from Amanda and like I mentioned above, we are to use snowflakes and the following colors: Pool Party, Midnight Muse, Whisper White and Basic Black. I had a bit of a time incorporating the black and then decided to use it in the form on ribbon on my sentiment piece. The sentiment panel is popped up with dimensionals and in person stands out quite nicely, it doesn't look blended with the paper like it does in the picture.

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup and check out all the other great projects from the rest of the design team and then play along with us!

  1. Oh no :( No snow?! You can have some of ours... We've gotten about 50-60cm in the last week.

Love your card and the placement of the tag in the middle. That would certainly brighten someone's day :)
