Anyone that knows me knows that I love moose! One of my favorite things about living in Alaska is the moose. I think they are beautiful creatures and I love, love, love seeing them, especially when they come into my yard. My husband just shakes his head at me and says "how many pictures of moose does one person need?". A lot, thank you very much !! LOL And if you dont believe me just check out my 365 blog , plenty of moose pictures on there from this past winter!
Anyway, todays card was made with 2 challenges in mind:
1.) The Color Throwdown Challenge #106, which uses these colors:
2.) The weekly sketch challenge over at Splitcoast:
I knew I wanted to use my Definitely Decorative Pines set with the moose but for some reason what I had in my head just wasnt coming to me with these colors so I spent a bit of time playing with combos, trying to see what I liked. I finally chose Kraft as the card base, with layers of Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky, both embossed with the CB Argyle folder. I used watercolor paper to stamp the trees on, then I stamped the moose in Chocolate Chip on some Whisper White, cut the image out and used dimensionals to attach it to the card. I placed a button on the left side of the image and even though its more of a sage shadow color I think it completes the scene. Its very common around here to see a moose walking by trees with a sign like that nearby!
I did skip the #2 layer and for #5 I used a strip of Chocolate Chip satin ribbon.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Definitely Decorative Pines, Goody Goody Gumdrops(sentiment)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky
Accessories: Button, Sponge, Aquapainter, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, CB Argyle embossing folder
I love it! That moose rocks!
