I then grabbed the Snowflakes set from SU and came up with this card. I still cant decide if I like it or not. Maybe I'm just not feeling these colors, maybe its Monday thing, I dont know, LOL.
The card base is Kraft and I used both Tempting Turquoise and White Craft Ink for the snowflakes. The large snowflake in the middle was stamped on a Kraft square with Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White, lightly edged with Whisper White and then attached with dimensionals. The inside of the card I didnt do anything fancy, just stamped the sentiment with Tempting Turquoise.
After staring at this card for a bit and going back and forth on it I decided to try another card for this challenge. This time I used the Fresh Cuts set. The image is stamped in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White cardstock and attached with dimensionals. I used Versamark to stamp the image along the left side and then used Whisper White Craft Ink to stamp the sentiment. I then placed 3 rhinestones from S.E.I. under it. I am a bit happier with this card then the snowflake one.
1st card:
Stamps- Snowflakes
Paper-Kraft
Ink-Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White Kraft Ink
Accessories-Dimensionals
2nd card:
Stamps- Fresh Cuts
Paper- Kraft, Whisper White
Ink- Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White Craft Ink, Versamark
Accessories: Dimensionals, rhinestones from S.E.I.
I like what you did with both cards. These colours really work well for the snowflake card & love the large snowflake edged in white.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I might suggest is that the central snowflake layer is a bit oversized for the card. It might work better as a single layer card with the big snowflake stamped direct to the front of the card, or perhaps just mat a small greeting on the front.
Thanks Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteIts funny you mention the snowflake. I actually did stamp the large snowflake directly on the card but I kept looking at it and it just didnt seem right, so thats when a stamped another one and mounted it with dimensionals over it,lol.
