I never like making sympathy cards but this one was especially difficult. This card was made for a dear friend of mine who just lost her son to suicide this past Friday. I've known her and her family for a long time and it just breaks my heart to see her going through this. I wanted to let her know that I'm here for her no matter what she needs.
I knew I wanted to use the Daffodils stamp set from Power Poppy but after that I was a bit lost. Thankfully The Paper Players have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week and after looking at the board I knew what I wanted to do...flowers, purple and sympathy.
I've got blueish-purple for the purple hyacinths in the bouquet, and then the crackle background, stitched rectangle and card base are all purple also, along with the sentiment stamped on the rectangle.
Thanks for stopping by, and hug those that are important to you. Life changes so quickly....
This is a beautiful sympathy card...your coloring is amazing! The background is perfect, too. I am sure the recipient will be comforted by it! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your friend's loss - and know that you're feeling the pain, too. Your card, though, is just lovely! That background is the perfect complement to your wonderfully colored bouquet. I know it will bring a smile - if only for a moment. Thanks so much for sharing it with us this week at The Paper Players! :)
