Hens and Chicks

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps and this week we have some bright and bold colors to work with! I have to admit, I was a bit stumped but I started going through my digital stamps and stopped on the Hens and Chicks set from Power Poppy. I knew it would be perfect for the green and purple colors, plus bringing black into the card would be easy.

I colored my image with copics and then started to work on my card lay out. I began to put my card together Sat afternoon and originally used yellow patterned paper for the background and a single purple frame but I kept looking at it and was not happy with the combo at all. Hubby and I went out to dinner, ran some errands and coming back home to the card I still wasn't happy. At 2am Sun morning I finally said forget it and left it laying on my desk and went to bed. When I woke up today I grabbed the purple patterned paper, cut the frames out and went with a different sentiment than what I had originally picked out and I am SO much happier with the result! Sometimes we just really need to step back and give our projects a fresh eye later on to get to the point where we are happy with our choices!

I'm also playing along with this weeks Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge, which is to Frame It Up. Julie wants us to showcase our main image with a frame so I used 2, a black one and a green one set against the purple patterned paper.

Make sure and head on over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us, we'd love to see what you do with these colors!

There is also still time to play along with Creative Confetti on the Power Poppy blog, you have the entire month to play along with each weekly prompt so go check that out also!
