A Corgi Christmas

Today I'm sharing two cards, both for Creative Confetti Challenges over at the Power Poppy blog.

The first card is for the most recent challenge, which is a fabulous sketch from Julie. As part of the 30 Day Daily Marker Challenge on Instagram I had colored this fun image of 2 corgi's under some mistletoe and it was perfect for this sketch. Normally I pick my paper first and then go with colors from there but this time I colored the image first and had to really dig through my hoard  stash to find some paper that would work with the colors on the image. I finally found some and started to put the card together. Because the patterned papers are a bit busy I wanted to keep the main background more neutral to help keep the focus on the main image so I used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder to give a little texture to the main background and then I adhered it all to a blue card base. It's definitely a bright and cherry Christmas card! One of my grand doggies is a Corgi so I think I'll be sending this card to one of my boys and his wife!

The second card is for the previous Confetti Challenge, I didn't get my card finished and posted before the link closed for the month, ooops! For this challenge we were to use one of Power Poppy's free digital images on our project. I used the Let It Be coloring sheet, I just love this image with the leaves surrounding it! I chose some nice rich autumn colors to work with and once again pulled out some polka dot paper. What can I say, I love polka dots :)

Make sure to head on over to the Power Poppy blog and play along with Creative Confetti! If you do you could possibly win a $25.00 gift certificate to the Power Poppy store!

  1. Absolutely love BOTH cards Lisa! So glad you shared the second one, even though you didn't make it before the linky closed. It's so pretty! And, I can't tell you how many times I've colored up a card only to literally comb through every piece of patterned paper praying for a match! hehe! You'd never know you didn't pick the paper first. Your card is just darling!
