Winter Memories

I recently discovered a new (to me) challenge blog through my friend Jayme. The challenge is called Retro Rubber Challenge and it's all about using stamps older than a year. It's not specific to SU but since I have over 500 SU sets, over half of that retired sets, I thought this would be a great challenge to help get some of those older sets dusted off and out in the open again!

This weeks theme is "winter" and so I grabbed the SU set Winter Memories. I think its from 2012 but don't remember for certain.I love all the images in this set but this one of the kids making a snowman is perfect for a winter theme.....unless of course you live in my part of Alaska and there is no snow and it's 44 degrees at the end of February (insert angry face here).

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I don't know if it's just me but I am unable to leave a comment on the RRC site....when I view the blog none of the "t"'s in the blog text are working (they look like "l" and it wouldn't let me type small "t"'s when I tried to leave a comment....not sure what's going on!

Stamps: Winter Memories
Paper: Marina Mist, Basic Gray, Neenah Solar White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Marina Mist

  2. Oh Lisa, I love this beautiful snow scene done with one of my favorite SU sets, the little kids making this snow man is a very nostalgic image, beautifully colored, the Falling Snow embossing just makes it look real.
Thank you so much for playing along with Retro Rubber this week, we hope to see your beautiful creations next time.
    Big Hugs,
    Maria.

  3. Hi Lisa! I am glad that you have found Retro Rubber! You have created a perfect scene - especially with that embossing folder! I love the bright colors - they pop! Thanks for playing along with Retro Rubber! PS I checked out RRCB on my phone, ipad and desktop. They all look OK to me and I even left a comment to see what that looked like and it was OK. Maybe it is the font that I am using and I should switch to a different one? I appreciate your comments and apologize for the problem! I hope that won't deter you from playing along in the future!

  5. No snow in Alaska?? That just doesn't seem right! We hit 60 degrees in Michigan last week and then got 10" of snow yesterday so there's hope for you yet! LOL ... I absolutely love your card! The colors are so fresh yet still allow the card to look wintery. I love this stamp set and don't have any idea why it never made it into my vast stash of SU stamp sets. You sure made me wish it had! Thank you so much for playing along with our winter challenge at Retro Rubber and really hope that you will join us again soon!
