I looked at the sketch for a while and it took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to do with the stamp set I had in mind but it finally came together for me and I am really happy with how the card turned out.
My friend Holly recently introduced me to Lawn Fawn stamps and I was instantly smitten. I picked up the Happy Trails set and matching die last week and wanted to get them inked up. Me, hubby and 2 of our boys went fishing for salmon about 4 hours from where we live and of course being Alaska the entire drive is awesome :) The scenery and miles and miles of nothing but trees and mountains was my inspiration for this card. I live in a wonderful area but I tell you this last weekend my husband could have dropped me off in the middle of nowhere and I would have been perfectly content!
The line of trees represents lines in the sketch, as does the road and then the sentiment that I placed under the road scene. Lawn Fawn included some of their pattern paper in my orders (how cool is that!) so I used some of it to paper piece the little trailer. I thought they were nice summer patterns! The larger trees are flat on the paper and the smaller trees I popped up with dimensionals. The camper and car are also popped up.
Just some of the amazing views we had along our drive. This is along the Glenn Highway.
