Going Vintage for Jingle Belles

For their current challenge the gals at Jingle Belles want us to go vintage. I have to admit, every time I hear "vintage" I panic a bit, as its not a look I feel I can pull off very well. However, I put my head down and went to work in my craft space, determined to get this challenge done!

Well, it took me a few days but I did finish it and I have to say, I am pretty happy with the way it turned out!  People interpret vintage so differently and for me I picture browns and reds and very subdued hues. I pulled out the SU retired stamp Christmas Collage and inked it up with the StazOz Timber Brown on some Crumb Cake. I then used my aquapainter to color in some leaves with Always Artichoke, and some berries with Cherry Cobbler. I then took the sentiment from the retired set Bells and Boughs, stamped it in Always Artichoke on Crumb Cake and then punched it out with the Decorative Label punch and sponged the edges with the StazOn brown. I stamped an image from Bells and Boughs, water colored it and then attached it to the sentiment panel, and popped the whole thing up on the card with dimensional's. Then I stamped the main image on some Crumb Cake again, this time coloring in the '25' with a Cherry Cobbler marker and the surrounding design with Always Artichoke. I punched it out with the 2 1/2" circle punch and popped it up on the panel with some dimensional's. I completed the card by placing some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on some of the berries.

Make sure you head over to the Jingle Belles blog and play along! It feels great to be so ahead on Christmas cards!
