Shaped Christmas

This week over at the Jingle Belles Blog the challenge is to create a shaped Christmas card, and to not use the standard square or rectangle card.

I went into the challenge with a pretty positive attitude and lots of ideas going through my head. I was going to make a house using one of my Cricut cartridges, but I didnt like how that was turning out. Then I was going to make a snowglobe with a template I had but that wasnt going my way either. Finally I settled on this ornament shape but by this point I was SO frustrated and was wondering where the heck my Christmas mojo went.  The shape and the 'Merry Christmas' were both cut using the Joys of the Season cartridge and I used stickles on the top to make it look like a silver hanger. I then sponged the edge of the ornament with Real Red, just to give the edge a more defined look. I tried different embellishments on the card but it just didnt look right, so I figured what the heck, its a clean and simple look.

  1. well, i am sorry about--and can totally relate to--the kerfuffle; but i think when your mojo returns he will emphatically agree with me that this is a ♥KNOCK OUT♥ of a shape card that does not need one single more thing b/c it's completely FAB*U*LOUS already!!! seriously!!! love it, miss lisa, well done! :)

  2. Clean & simple works for me ... love those fun polka dots and the glitter of the silver ... so glad you joined our jingle belles fun.

  3. Sometimes CAS is the best! Love the polka dot paper, and that font is SO FUN! Great card!

  4. Clean and simple makes this a great card! so sweet with the stickles on the top and the bright red inking! I love the lettering you have used - that might be a Cricut cartridge I *need* to invest in :-) love it!

  5. I like clean and simple, I don't do it well myself but I like to see it and this says FUN to me. I like the happy papers and the touches of bling and color!

(btw, those other ideas sound really good, I can relate when our ideas and the realities of time are not cohesive!)

  6. I don't think there is any need to anything further because this is the perfect ornament card. I love it! The Merry Christmas sentiment across the front is perfect.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment, its always appreciated!
