Peace for Power Poppy

This week for the Creative Confetti challenge over at Power Poppy we are to create projects where we stamp an image off the corner or use a corner rounder on our creation.

I took a retired SU die and made my shape, then I took the Amaryllis Bliss stamp and played around with it until I found a position for it that I liked. I stamped the image off the corner on several spots of the shape and the shape also has round edges so I managed to do both parts of the challenge :)

After coloring my image with copics I took my W1 and W0 copics and outlined around the flowers. I then stamped the sentiment across the bottom of the image panel. I think I should have chosen my patterned paper before choosing the red for my flowers, as I had a bit of a time trying to find a paper that I felt looked good. I ended up going with some Poppy Parade DSP from SU and some retired SU Christmas DSP for the green. The image is popped up with dimensionals.

Merry Christmoose for LMMS

It's time for a new challenge over at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps blog and this week I decided to create a little winter scene on my card. I combined 2 images, Moose Jingles and Winter Scene, to create a simple but fun scene. After I colored the image with copic markers I fussy cut along the top edges and then adhered the image panel for a section of patterned paper that looks like snow falling from the sky. I then pulled out a sentiment from my stash and put the sentiment banner at the top left of the card. Nice and simple card ready to mail off for Christmas!

Coloring for Power Poppy

Just a quick post today. The current challenge for the Power Poppy Creative Confetti Challenge is to just color an image...don't worry about making a project, you don't have to get fancy, just take a few mins and color. My daughter was here all last week from Oklahoma and flew back Sunday night so I didn't get much coloring done at all last week so I set aside some time today to color up a brand new image from Power Poppy's new clear set Let Your Heart Be Light.

I know the pic isn't that great, I'm in a hurry to get stuff done today, but the poinsettias look so pretty in person. I love to use my copic R39, R37 and R35 to color in poinsettias, I think it's such a pretty combo! I haven't decided yet what sentiment I'm going to use on the image, I'll figure that out later.

Flowery Winter Wishes

This week over at the Jingle Belles blog they want to see us get festive with flowers. Easy peasy, all I had to do was turn to my Power Poppy stamps, they have the most incredible flower images for Christmas!

For my card I decided to go with the Winter Wonderland set from Power Poppy. This image features a Poinsettia, Dusty Miller, Pepperberries and Anemones! I just love this combination of flowers, it's so pretty and unexpected. Power Poppy just released this image as a digital stamp on Monday so that's even better news for folks that love digi's!

I colored the image in with copics and then used a die from MFT to cute the image panel. It looked a bit plain to me so I did some paper piercing around the edges for a little more visual punch and then I adhered it to a card base. My daughter is home visiting us from OKC so because she loves glitter on everything I added some Wink of Stella to the anemones.

So Thankful for You

For today's card I played along with 2 Power Poppy challenges....the monthly Power and Spark Challenge is all about giving thanks, and the weekly Creative Confetti Challenge wants us to use our monogram to create our project.

For the giving thanks part I used a wonderful new clear set called Fortunes of Fall. The maize image is also a digital stamp and now it's a clear stamp, so I had to have this set when it was released recently! For the sentiment I used one of the ones from the new set "So thankful for you". Right now our 22 yr old daughter is home visiting us....her and her boyfriend moved to Oklahoma City a year and a half ago and we haven't seen her since they moved so it's wonderful to have her home for a week. We had an early Thanksgiving with her and her older brother yesterday and then we all got to watch the Northern Lights as a family after dinner, which was a wonderful treat. Usually I'm the only one awake when the aurora comes out to dazzle Alaska!

For the Creative Confetti Challenge my monogram is LMJ. Therefore I chose:

L= Layers

M= Maize (the corn image)

J=Jewel (there is a blue rhinestone placed on the ribbon in the image).

The J was really tough and I went back and forth between the jewel and jute twine but ultimately ended up using the jewel.

Thinking of you This Season

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday Stamps and this week we have a color challenge for you. The post is titled Fall Whisper but I decided to go with a winter card.

For my card I used the 2nd and 3rd colors in the graphic, plus the last one. I incorporated the brighter blue in with my DSP and the trees, and the darker blue is my card base and what I used for the sentiment. The light brown color was used on the edge of the trees for a bit of a shadow affect. I also used a retired SU TIEF to create the snowy ground below the trees.

Happy Christmas for LMMS

Working night shift my days often blend together and that's what happened this week...I took Weds off from work and got so busy enjoying Halloween that I forgot about Thursday and posting my card for Little Miss Muffet Stamps, ooops!

This week I'm once again featuring the Holiday Truck digital image. I just love this truck and all the different ways it can be used. This time I decided to use the trees, ax and lights on my truck and I used some retired SU DSP I had in my stash. I really like these papers with this image!
