Vintage Sketch for Christmas

I havent had much time to play along with any challenges lately and I've missed making Christmas cards, so this card combines 2 Christmas challenges. The first one is the sketch from Merry Monday and the 2nd challenge is from Jingle Belles, which is to create a card with a vintage look.

I'm not really sure if I captured a vintage look...maybe more of a retro look? My husband said the reindeer on the paper look vintage but the colors of the card and embellishments remind him of the 80's, LOL. So maybe a retro-vintage look is what I've got going?

Punchy Animals with Friday Mashup

It's Friday and I am late with my Friday Mashup, bad me :( Life is running at a 100 mph right now and I am behind on a lot of things, so please forgive me!

Todays challenge is brought to us by one of our new designers, Liliana! She wants us to create a project using our favorite animal, make a project with punch art or mash it up and create your favorite animal using punch art!

Now I know this may come as a suprise(not!) but my favorite animal is the moose. I love, love, love moose and can spend hours watching them, especially when they are in my yard! However I didnt mash it up...most of the punch art moose are too "cutesie" for my taste. I used a retired set for my moose, as well as retired DSP.

I also played along with Freshly Made Sketches by using this weeks sketch for my card!

Asking for thoughts

No card today, but I am asking for thoughts...

I live in Alaska, but spent my teen yrs growing up in Colorado Springs CO. That town is now going through a horrific event, with a wildfire working its way through the west side. I have many friends and family members still there and they are all affected by the fire in one way or another.

Please, keep the people of Colorado Springs in your thoughts.

Summer Colors for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is enjoying the last day of the weekend! I had a very busy weekend an I'm not ready for 5:30am Monday to get here, but I know its going to arrive way too soon!

I've been playing along with the new challenge blog Sunday Stamps and good news, I've been accepted as a member of the design team for the blog, woohooo! I'm really excited about it and I hope all of my friends out there in blog land come and play along with us.

This week its a color challenge and Holly says she pictures lots of daisies and dandelions with the colors she gives us this week.....Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Old Olive. I love all 3 of these colors!

I used a newly retired set, Upsy Daisy. I kept saying I was going to buy this set, and when I saw it was being retired I finally went ahead and got it. Should have done it sooner but oh well! I like it and I'll use it, retired or not.

Celebrating with Friday Mashup

Hello to everyone! Friday is here and I'm so happy! It's been a long week and I am happy my day off is finally here...I'm ready to celebrate!

Celebration is the theme that Amanda brings us this week at the Friday Mashup. She wants us to make a box in the bag, a project with a party theme or mash it up and create a box in a bag with a party theme. Don't know how to do a box in a bag? Amanda has a great tutorial on her blog HERE.

I decided to go with a birthday theme and used the retired Everyday Enchantment DSP. I just thought it totally rocked the party theme! I used the Framelit Labels to decorate both the front of the bag and the card.

Getting Sketchy with Sunday Stamps

Holly has a great sketch this week on Sunday Stamps. Nice and CAS, I love it!


This morning when I woke up and checked my Facebook I found out a mutual friend of Holly and I's got engaged last night in WA state, and so she was the inspiration behind today's card. It's definitely more girly than I usually make but being a bride is usually about being girly though right :0)


 Did you know that June is the most popular month for weddings? Yep, its true! Guess I stayed true to form by being different and getting married in February(18.5 yrs ago!), which isnt even in the top 10 for wedding months, lol. We'll have to see what month our friend chooses :)

Birthday Cupcakes for Sunday Stamps

This card was made for this weeks Sunday Stamps challenge. I tried to get it in before the link closed but I missed it by about 30 mins, oooops! Next time I wont eat dinner :)

This week it was a color challenge, using Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose and Soft Suede. I decided to use the cupcake builder punch for a nice CAS birthday card. I don't care for the color pink so using Regal Rose was a bit hard for me but I incorporated it as the top portion of the cupcake...pink frosting!
