A Fishy Birthday for LMMS

It's Inspiration Week at LMMS and this week I used the Swings 'n Slides Fishy image. My husband and some of our kids love to fish, so I immediately thought of them when I saw this image.

I wanted to keep the card simple so I used Word to add the sentiment under the image and then colored the image. It's the perfect card for a young boy!

You can find this image in the LMMS store HERE, and come by the LMMS FB page for more inspiration!

Keep Your Goals in Mind

It's time for Inspiration Week at LMMS and this week I used a new image on my card. The image is called Swings N Slides Skills and I just love it! We're not a soccer family, my daughter played one year of it in high school, but we have a ton of family friends that play the sport and love it. I think this card would be great for maybe a junior or senior in high school that plays soccer but is looking towards their future.

My sons school colors are red and black so that's what I went with for my card. I colored the grass but right now our fields are still covered in snow LOL The sun and 50 degree temps are making quick work of the snow but it's still not clear. Gotta love spring sports season in Alaska :)

Head on over to the LMMS FB group for more inspiration from the rest of the DT and don't forget, there is still time to play along with the Anything Goes challenge!

Going Wild for LMMS

I'm late with my LMMS Inspiration post today and I apologize for that! I've been knocked down the last few days with a horrible cold and last night I stayed home from work and crashed super early! I'm still feeling icky today but hopefully being up and moving will help push this sickness away!

For today's LMMS Inspiration I created a card using Polka Dot Pals Cody. I just love this fun image! His going on a safari outfit makes me think back to childhood and exploring down by the creek in the neighborhood with all the other kids.

The sentiment is from an MFT set and the front says "Go Wild" and inside I stamped "It's Your Special Day".

Make sure to head on over to the LMMS FB group to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT and don't forget, there is still time to play along with the LMMS Anything goes Challenge also!

But wait, there's more :) Little Miss Muffet Stamps is currently holding a Guest DT member call! Follow the link to get all the details on how to apply!

Colorful Childrens Birthday for Friday Mashup

Happy Friday to you all! Our abnormally warm winter in southcentral Alaska is moving right along into an abnormally warm spring...its supposed to hit 70 today! That's my cutoff for warm temps so if it gets any higher than that I'll be hiding out in the house :)

Today's Friday Mashup is brought to us by Holly and she wants us to make a project for a child using the following colors: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi and neutrals.

I grabbed the set 'You're My Hero' for my card. I just bought this set recently and am so sad to see it retiring. Oh well, I'll still use it! As a former firefighter I just get the biggest kick out of these images! What better for a kids birthday card than a fun fire engine? I don't know too many kids who don't live to see the big red truck screaming down the road, siren a blaring!

My sketch inspiration came from the current Sunday Stamps challenge, it was a great sketch to use when incorporating several colors!

Come by The Friday Mashup and check out all the great projects from the rest of the design team, and play along with us!

  1. Create a project using the Colors "Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi & Neutral of your choice".
  2. Create a project for "a Child".
  3. Or mash it up and create a project with the "Above Colors for a Child".

Going to the Muppets with Friday Mashup

It's Friday, wheee! I hope everyone has had a great week! Mine has been busy but good!

Today Holly is bringing us a really fun challenge for this weeks Friday Mashup.....did you know that April is Autism Awareness Month and is also the Month of the Military Child(a special shout out to my 3 kids, proud military brats!). What better time to have a challenge that's geared to kids?

This week we want you to create a card for Kids (any age) and use the colors of your Favorite Muppet!! Yep, you read that right your favorite Muppet.. Is it Kermit, Miss Piggy, etc.... Don't forget to post a Pix of your favorite Muppet in your blog post so we can see who your project colors are based on!

Now, my favorite Muppet's are Statler and Waldorf, the 2 very sarcastic and funny old men but I figured they would make for a boring card, there really isn't a whole lot of color involved with them, so I went with my 2nd favorite...Animal! He cracks me up...he is so crazy and when he says "WO-MAN...WO-MAN" I cant help but laugh.

I used colors that I thought looked like his skin color, hair color and colors from the clothing he wears!

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup to check out all the great projects from the design team and then play along with us!
  1. Make a project using "Your Favorite Muppet Color Combo".
  2. Or Make a project " for kids".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Project for a Kid using your Favorite Muppet Colors".

Don't forget to tell us or Show us who your Favorite Muppet is!

Paper: Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo, Early Espresso, Whisper White

Friday Mashup--Kids and Bright Colors

Happy Friday! Its another great challenge from The Friday Mashup blog and this week our challenge is issued by Lesley, and it was a bit of a toughie for me! You can make a card for a child, make a card using the colors Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point, or you can MASHUP the challenges and make a childs card incorporating those colors.

I really dont make cards for kids that often, and while I do love 3 of the 4 colors given I dont combine them that often, so I had to think about this challenge a bit. Finally I pulled out the Sock Monkey set(which is on the newly released SU retiring list, so if you want it you have until June 30 to get it!) and started on a simple card. I wanted to stick with simple because kids dont like overwhelming things, but they do like bright colors, shapes and usually a monkey is a safe bet for smiles :) I didnt realize it but I didnt have any Tempting Turquoise paper(oops!) so I incorporated that color by coloring an outfit on the monkey!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Sock Money, Print Pattern
Paper: Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Sizzix Circles Diecuts, Dazzling Diamonds, sponge, dimensionals, black twine

Head over to the Friday Mashup blog and check out the other great cards from the design team, and leave everyone some love. Folks love comments and like to hear that others are enjoying their work!
