Happy Thursday friends!I've got some fabulous news....Power Poppy has a brand new digital image being released today and another one is being released tomorrow! I don't know about you but I am SO EXCITED to have brand new Power Poppy goodness to color.
This release is called the Fresh-Squeezed Scents Collection and today's image, Aloes and Oranges, features an aloe plant flanked by oranges. I've never colored an aloe plant or oranges before so it was really fun to look up photos for reference and to see the different colors out there for the aloe plants. I decided to go with a more milky green color with just a hint of a darker color mixed in for my aloe plant, and I really liked how the leaves contrast with the pretty flowers that come up from the aloe plant. Did you know an aloe plant flowered? I didn't!
I didn't get too fancy with the oranges, those who are familiar with me know I like to keep things simple and honestly I was a bit scared to try and get too crazy with the sliced orange LOL For the white flowers I did some coloring with a C3 and C1 copics.

For my background paper I used colors right from my image panel, mixing some stripes with polka dots.. The sentiment is from the clear stamp set Good Thinking: Renewal (sadly this set is now retired).
