Jingle Belles H20

I was coming down to the wire on this challenge but I did it, LOL! The challenge over at Jingle Belles was to create a card showcasing icicles, snow, frozen ponds....any type of water related image.

I dove deep into my Christmas stamps and pulled out an old set from Stampin Up. It's part of my crafting resolution this year, to use ALL of my Christmas stamps at least once this year. I thought this image of kids skating on a pond would be perfect for this challenge! I adding some Dazzling Diamonds to look like snow or ice reflecting.

The DSP has snowflakes and the panel behind the image is embossed with snowflakes, so that also fits into the challenge criteria :)

I also used up the last of my hoard of the retired color Sage Shadow for this, booo! I always loved this color. Also, the ribbon is Mellow Moss and is not as bright as it looks in the photo, its much more muted in person.

  1. What a lovely card, Lisa! I like the embossed snowflakes on top and then the designer paper on the bottom half. What a fun challenge to use all of your Christmas stamps this year. Let us know if you make it. :)

  2. Gosh, what a wonderful card that is! Makes me want to go out and skate - and reminds me of the little pond in the woods where we used to play hockey back in the days...

  3. what a gorgeous card Lisa. You are always so inspirational - I need to really follow your lead! I love the idea of working through your stamps! I don't stamp much but I have a few that I should dust off and use. A great card and perfect for the prompt

  4. well, you know, it's always sad to use THE LAST BIT of something particularly treasured, but i honestly cannot imagine a more lovely or perfect "home" for that sage shadow cardstock than being so beautifully embossed and paired with the patterned paper and that glorious image! which, let me just say, i ♥LOVE♥ both the stamp itself, and the idea that you're going to use ALL your xmas stamps at least once this year!!! how COOOOOOOL are you, missus??!??!?!? (hint: you are AWESOME!!!) :)
