Dasher Christmas

This card was made for 2 challenges....

Over at the Jingle Belles blog this week they are teaming up with the talented June Houck for a color challenge and it involves 2 very popular Christmas colors, red and green. The catch? You can only use 1 of the colors on your card...that's right, either red or green but you cant use both colors on the same card! Now I love red and green so I was a bit scared at first but then I jumped right into it and went with red, brown and kraft for my colors. I added Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details around the reindeer's swirls to give the image a little more 'pop'.

I'm so sad though...I've been hoarding this particular SU Christmas DSP since 2010 and I only have a few pieces left, boooo! This is some of my favorite paper ever!

The second challenge is this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. It's a great sketch from Tui Nathan and I'm squeaking this one in a few hours before the linky closes!

Make sure you check out both blogs and their great challenges!

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Dasher
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Snow Burst EF, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, sponge, dimensionals

  1. Very pretty indeed! I love a CAS card and love all the inked edges. Inking the edges is my favorite thing to do especially when a card needs a little extra something. It's so easy to do too. TFS

  7. Lovely card...I have the same dilemma with my papers. I hoard them because I love them.....but really I suppose I should just use them up and let others enjoy them! Thanks for playing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  12. I love those papers too, Lisa. SU had a halloween collection 5 or 6 years ago that I never bought and I have regretted it ever since; they have not made a Halloween collection since that I liked as well as that one. I've learned my lesson! Buy it :) I have that elegant reindeer stamp too; your strip of embossed paper behind him accents his elegance. GREAT card, as usual!
