CSAYL #30

What a busy week! The kids headed back to school and I now have 2 in high school,a sophomore and a freshmen, and our baby is in 5th grade! Where does the time go? I also asked myself that on Monday when I saw we were on challenge 30 over at the CSAYL blog. Wow! Seems like just yesterday that I discovered this awesome blog! If you havent been there before you really should check it out.

This week Maria posted the following sketch challenge:

I always tend to get nervous when I see sketchs that include circles, ovals, etc. Thats just never been my strong point, even with all the new dies/embellishments, etc that can create a shape for you in just a matter of seconds. I dove right into it though and included something else I've never done before--chipboard. I recently bought a set of chipboard on Scrapbooksteals.com and I figured I might as well try and do something with it :)

Here is the card I came up with. I sanded the paper on the tree to give it a more weathered look and I also added red stickles to the middle of all the red stars/snowflakes on the paper. Its very sparkly in person! I also paper pierced along the larger oval.

Supplies(all supplies Stampin'Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps:Many Merry Messages
Paper: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate, PP by K & Company
Accessories:CB Snow Dots folder, Coluzzle,Christmas Red Stickles, chipboard from Cosmo Cricket ,Old Olive ribbon, paper piercer
