Halloween Swap

When I lived in WA a bunch of us got together every other month or so for a card swap. Since I moved to Alaska I just send my cards down and get the swaps mailed to me. For a while there I was just too busy to keep up with the swap group but I started getting back into the swing of things over the summer. This Sunday the group is meeting to exchange Halloween/ Fall cards and this is what I made.

If you have been by this blog recently you will notice that these cards are just like this one I made recently. All I did was change the colors and used some paper I had in my stash, since I didnt have enough of the SU paper to make 12 cards. This paper is shimmery and my daughter said she liked these ones better than the original.

One Piece of Cardstock

Thursdays challenge on Ways To Use It over at Splitcoast was to make a card using just one sheet of cardstock. You could layer, but it had to be the same sheet of cardstock you started with.

I love simple cards like this so today I found a few mins to  get out 2 cards. Its the exact same image but I changed the sentiment. I went with a Whisper White base and then using Old Olive to stamp the tree. I then took Chocolate Chip and stamped the design on some Whisper White left from cutting the cards. The design is then popped up with dimensionals, although its hard to see in the pics. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive on each card.

I really like the way these look in person, I dont think the pictures  do the cards justice.

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Pendant Park, Best Yet(card 1), All Year Cheer I(card 2)
Paper: Whisper White:
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Dimensionals

More Moose Love

I love the Pines stamp set and used it again to create this card, which combines 2 challenges. I used this weeks color challenge at The Color Throwdown and then the sketch is from this weeks sketch challenge over at Splitcoast.

I used Kraft for the card base and used Versamark to stamp pine boughs in each corner of the card. I then ran a layer of So Saffron through my cuttlebug with the Argyle folder. I backed the So Saffron with a piece of Chocolate Chip.

I cut a square of To the Nines Specialty DSP and also backed that with some Chocolate Chip. The moose was stamped with Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla and again Chocolate Chip was used as a backing. I still felt there was something missing so I grabbed some Chocolate Chip satin ribbon and made a little loop to the left of the moose.

For the inside of the card I just put down a layer of So Saffron and used   Versamark to stamp the pine bough images.

Crazy for Cupcakes

This week the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'delicious', which means anything to do with food. Since I love sweets I chose to make a card with the Crazy For Cupcakes set.

I used Kraft for the card base and then a took some Tea Party DSP and layered on some Pretty In Pink. I tied on a ribbon along the bottom portion. The cupcake image was stamped in Black StazOn and colored in with watercolor crayons. I used red stickles for the cherries on top of the cupcakes. The sentiment was stamped along the bottom right of the card with Close to Cocoa ink.

Very easy card.

Supplies(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps- Crazy For Cupcakes
Paper- Kraft, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Tea Party DSP
Ink- Black StazOn, Close to Cocoa
Accessories- Pretty in Pink Riboon, Watercolor Crayons, Blender Pen, Dimensionals

Whats On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 64

Grrrr....blogger is being a pain and this is my 3rd attempt at this post!!

Ok, back to business.....this week I am again playing along with the Stamping Ground blog and posting pics of my work space. It actually isnt too bad this week. I had just finished up a card when I snapped these pics.
In the picture below you can see some of the ink I used for my Christmas card, then I also have the ink and punch I'm using on my Halloween card, plus a mess of other stuff:
This pic shows the 2 sets I was debating for my Christmas card. I ended up using the one on the right. The stamps for my Halloween card are there in the top right corner and the makings of another Christmas card are on top of a green container, above the SU stamps.

Christmas Landscape

This card was made with 2 challenges in mind:

1. The Tues color challenge over at Splitcoast, using this weeks colors of Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Neutrals

2.)The Weds sketch challenge over at Splitcoast using this weeks sketch:

I used Rich Razzleberry for the card base and embossed it with the CB folder Swiss Dots. On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the image with Pacific Point and also sponged the edges. On a strip of Old Olive I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and then sponged the edges with Old Olive. As you can see I omitted layer #4 from the sketch. I couldnt find an image I liked to go there, everything seemed to take away from the main image. Instead I went with the eyelets on the Old Olive strip.

Supplies used(all supplies SU unless otherwise stated):
Stamps: A Beautiful Season
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point
Accessories: CB Swiss Dots folder, Eyelets by Making Memories, sponge, dimensionals

Some Halloween Mojo

Today is Monday, so you know what that means....a new sketch over at Mojo Monday. Todays sketch looks like this:

I needed to get started on some Halloween cards for a swap so I pulled out my Pumpkin Patch set and got busy. Its a very easy card, which is just what I like, especially after I had such a horrible time with the color challenge I did this morning!

The card base is Basic Black and then I put a layer of Ghostly Greetings DSP on top of it. The pumpkins were stamped on Whisper White with Pumpkin Pie ink and then the faces were stamped on with Basic Black. I then backed those squares with some Basic Black cardstock. I used a punch from Martha Stewart to get the witch and she is popped up with 2 dimensionals to really stand out against the squares. Basic Black ribbon is used on the card with a small amount of Pumpkin Pie ribbon knotted onto the black strand. The sentiment was then stamped in Basic Black.

I did omit the 3 accessories on the bottom left. I was going to use brads but I just didnt like how it went with the ribbon there.

Supplies used:
Stamps-Pumpkin Patch
Paper- Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie(inside the card, which I forgot to take a pic of), Ghostly Greetings DSP
Ink- Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories-Basic Black ribbon, Pumpkin Pie ribbon, spone, Martha Stewart witch punch, 1 3/8" square punch, dimensionals
