Could it be?

Yep, I actually made a card! I've been in a serious craft slump lately but the husband helped me out greatly by turning our bdrm closet into a craft space and its really helping me get back into a stamping frame of mind!

With this card I combined several challenges!

1.Sunday Stamps from Holly Beary Creations . This week Holly says "This week we are on the letter “T” So get out those sets and if you don’t have any T’s you can make a card realted to “Twilight” The books or the Movies."
2. The current Clean and Simple challenge at SCS--CAS61
3. The current Color Challenge at SCS--CC265
4. The current Sketch Challenge at SCS--SC275

The color challenge gave me a bit of a fit. The colors to use were Soft Suede(Close To Cocoa), Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise and a neutral of your choice. I was fine with all of the colors except Tempting Turquoise. I really dont care for that color and dont even have any cardstock for it so to incorporate it I used the color in my sentiment.

Everything is Stampin'Up! except for the patterned paper. It was in my extras pile so I dont know who it belongs too but it matched the Certainly Celery really well. I added glitter to some of the swirls on the PP. I used the stamp set "Time Well Spent".

Supplies:
Stamps: Time Well Spent
Paper:Certainly Celery, Soft Suede,Misc PP,Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories: SU Markers(Certainly Celery,Tempting Turquoise,Yoyo Yellow),Buttons,Dimensionals,Glitter

Thank you....again

After checking out my friends Holly's blog I saw she mentioned  challenge FTL 76 from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. I dont think I have ever played along with them, so I decided to make a quick card for the challenge! If you've been to my blog before you know that clean and simple is my favorite! I'm not much for piling lots of things on my cards.

I made another thank you card, and this is what I came up with. The roof of the house is popped up with dimensionals, as are the 4 squares:

Supplies(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps-Good Neighbors and sentiment from Trendy Trees
Paper-Old Olive, Whisper White, Good Neighbor DSP
Ink- Old Olive
Accessories- 1 3/8" square punch,Modern Label punch, sponge, dimensionals, Old Olive ribbon

Twilight Tuesday Challenges

Catching up on some of my favorite blogs I went by the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge Blog and learned they are closing the blog down((sigh)). That really bites, no pun intended! So instead of sitting there damning them all to hell for leaving me,hehehehe, I combined 2 of their most recent challenges into 1 card.

First challenge, a "touchy feely Vampire Valentine":
With Valentines day fast approaching and everybody in a lovey dovey, touchy feely kinda mood, I thought the most obvious thing I could challenge you all to is to create a Valentine’s day card for your favourite Twilight Saga character *sigh*…Rob…I mean…Edward….What?? A girl can dream can’t she??!! …But then I thought….Nar, too easy!

So this is what I would like you to do….
Craft Portion: Make a VALENTINE’S card/project for your favourite character or for YOUR valentine… but…. with texture!! That’s right I want you to add things like lace, raised embossing, distressed edges, fuzzy fibres, metal, cloth, cracked glass, leather, flower soft, sandpaper, anything that adds texture!

Comment Portion: Tell us your favourite Valentine’s story…Or if you haven’t got one, Tell us who you would like to snuggle up on Valentine’s day with from the Twilight Saga..

My husband and I dont really celebrate Valentines Day. Our wedding anniversary is Feb.5th so we celebrate that, but we're more the 'show the person you love them everyday, even if they are being a royal PITA'  type of couple.:0) So my card is more of an anniversary card than a Valentines Day card, but its all about the love right?(and as long as hubby keeps a supply of chocolate in the fridge for me, hes loved! ;) )

As for my Twilight Valentine...well Edward of course! Yummy yummy. I want to dance in a gazebo with him!

The texture on the card is the dazzling diamonds. I know, not a whole lot but a little is always good too right?

The 2nd challenge was a sketch challenge :

This is the card I came up with. I dont really like how it came out in the photo. Trust me, it looks so much nicer in person! I'm not a fan of the color pink at all but I really like how these colors came together:

The base is chocolate chip and I used Jolie Chocolat PP by S.E.I layered onto some Regal Rose cardstock. The truck was cut out and popped up with dimensionals.

Complete supply list(all supplies SU unless otherwise noted):
Stamps-Loads of Love
Paper-Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Rose Red, Jolie Chocolat PP by S.E.I
Ink-StazOn Black, Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Rose Red, Encore Metallic Silver
Accessories- Blender Pen, Watercolor Pencils, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, hearts punch,
Dazzling Diamonds, Heat and Stick Powder, dimensionals

Going through my cards I realized that I dont have many thank you or just plain 'hello' cards. My goal is to change that in the next few weeks! I started my hello batch with this card, although I think I'll be mailing it off to my dad, who is currently battling cancer. He lives in Colorado and I cant be there right now, so I think this card would be a nice thing to send out, let him know that we are thinking of him 24/7.

I combined 2 challenges on this......the Clean and Simple Challenge from Splitcoast, where we were to incorporate designer paper, and then the Twilight Inspiration Color Challenge-Thoughts of Bella, where we had to use the colors Garnet,Phoenix Sky Blue and Forks Sky. I used the colors Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue and Sahara Sand.

For the CAS challenge the DSP is Sahara Sand, which also ties into the Twilight Challenge. The base of the card is Riding Hood Red,along with the sentiment and one of the birds. I used Bashful blue for the ribbon, the 2nd bird and for the cardstock mounted behind the Very Vanilla.

Haha, the more I look at the birds on the card the more I can see myself(the red bird) "talking" to my husband. Its like the blue bird is just sitting there taking it, ROFL!

Complete list of supplies:
Stamps-Cheep Talk
Paper-Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand DSP
Ink-Bashul Blue, Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa,Old Olive
Accessories-Ribbon from Wal-Mart,dimensionals,large oval punch

Another thank you card...

Ahhhhhhhhh, its so nice and quiet in the house today! The kids were home all weekend, then had no school yesterday so I was in desperate need of some Mama quiet time!

I still needed to make 1 more thank you card to send off so I grabbed one of the sets I just got, Peace Within. I think this set is just darling! If my cats were allowed to go outside I could totally see our kitty Bismarck draped on one of the adirondack chairs like this!

These colors come from this weeks color challenge over at Splitcoaststampers(CC254). I used Soft Suede for the base of the card, and the main image and sentiment are stamped on watercolor paper(I love that stuff!). Bashful Blue is used as the backing for both the main image and the Ruby Red DSP thats used. I totally went outside of my comfort zone and added buttons to the card to give it a little extra detail. The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.

Complete supply list:
Stamps-Peace Within and sentiment from Small Script
Paper-Soft Suede, Ruby Red DSP,Bashful Blue, Watercolor paper
Ink-Black StazOn, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Close To Cocoa, Summer Sun, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories-Buttons, various SU markers, blender pen, Aqua Painter, dimenisionals

No....could it be...really?

Yes, yes, its really a new post on my crafting blog! I realize its been quite a while since I last posted. Between illnesses in the family and then the holidays I just didnt have the time(or desire I guess) to get any stamping done. However, I've started to get some goodies again and sat down today to make a card.

Since we just got done with Christmas and birthdays that means thank you cards need to be sent out to all the grandparents. I am severely lacking in the thank you card dept so thats the card I needed to make today. Here is what I came up with:

I am really happy with the way the card came out. The base of the card is Sahara Sand and then I layered Ruby Red DSP on top of Old Olive cardstock. The oval and sentiment are both cut out of Whisper White and then sponged with Old Olive. The stamps come from the set Trendy Trees and I used Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink to create the trees. Old Olive ribbon was used for a finishing touch. I also used Sketch Challenge 263 from Splitcoaststampers on todays card.

Thanks for looking!
