Friendship is an Adventure

This week The Paper Players have a great sketch and I wanted to hurry up and get a card done before the challenge was up. The sketch was a perfect excuse to break out the card kit I got from MFT a few weeks ago. The kit has a moose stamp, how could I resist!

I used some Milk Chocolate CS for my base and to create the 3 panels I used papers from the Trail Mix paper pack. I love the colors in this pack, they are fabulous! My images were colored with Copics and then cut out with the coordinating dies that come with the kit. Easy peasy!

Color My World

Happy Sunday! I spent the day in Anchorage yesterday and forgot to set up my Sunday Stamps post for today, oops!

This week at Sunday Stamps we have a fun color challenge....rainbow colors. I immediately thought of the Color My World stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I grabbed my copic markers and got to work!

This card is really simple. I just took the crayon images and stamped it repeatedly across the card front. I then took my copic markers and colored the images with the colors of the rainbow. For the sentiment I used a sittched die from MFT to cut it out and then popped it up on the card front.

Make sure you head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

A Spring Moosing You

Things are settling down here again so I am trying to catch up on challenges. Today's card is for the newest sketch over at SugarPea Designs and I pulled out my favorite set, Merry Christmoose. Don't let the name of the set fool you, this sweet moose can be used for any occasion!

When I colored in my moose I used yellow and green on the scarf so I decided to keep that theme going with the papers I used, giving the card a nice spring feel. It's still chilly in the spring so Mr Moose needs his scarf to keep his neck warm :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Spring for The Paper Players

This week at The Paper Players the challenge is to create CAS projects inspired by spring. Here in Alaska we welcomed in spring with a snowstorm that brought 7 inches of wonderful snow to my place. It's the most snow we've had since November and I spent all day Saturday outside playing in it!

For my card I used a fun stamp from MFT, the PI I'm All Ears. The girl in her sundress, holding the carrot and wearing bunny ears definitely speaks spring! I don't celebrate Easter but if you do, this image would also be great for an Easter card!

I colored in the image with my copic markers and then adhered it my card base. My daughter wanted some bling on it so I added some sequins to it to make her happy. Otherwise I kept it nice and simple!

Thanks for stopping by!

You're My Kind of Peep

It's time for another Friday Mashup but before I get into the challenge details I have to announce that after 5 yrs The Friday Mashup will be closing it's doors. The creator, Holly, has a lot on her plate right now and feels that the challenge has run it's course. Family comes first so I support Holly 100% and I am very thankful that she asked me to be on the team when the Mashup first started and has kept me on this entire time. I've learned so much over the years and have had a blast, so thank you Holly for everything!

For our last challenge we have a sketch along with an Easter theme. If you are like me and do not celebrate Easter than just use chicks or bunnies on your project!

For my card I used stamps and paper from last month's Simon Says Stamp card kit. I love peeps, I could eat a large box of them in one sitting, so I used the peep stamps to create my card. I kept the card simple, adding a few sequins to finish it off.

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then join us for our last challenge!

  • Create a Project with an "Easter theme or Chicks & Bunnies" .
  • or Create a Project using the above "Sketch".
  • or Mash it Up and create an Easter project using the Sketch above.

Layers for Jingle Belles

Monday is here but I feel like I could use another weekend to recover from this past weekend! We took the new car for a drive to Anchorage and we bought a new living room set. Between crafts, a new car and furniture I think I've spent enough for the rest of the year. I'm avoiding shopping for a while LOL

The new addition to the family aka the girl my husband now loves best LOL

One thing I won't avoid is the Jingle Belles blog! The current challenge is all about layers....they want us to create a project with at least 3 layers. Mine are subtle but I hope it first layer is the card base, the 2nd layer is the decorative DSP, the Santa is a 3rd layer and the 4th layer is the banner with the sentiment. I know the 3rd and 4th items are small so hopefully they still count!

There is still time to play along so head over to the Jingle Belles blog and check it out!

Stamps: Oh What Fun (Avery Elle)
Paper: Real Red, Neenah Solar White, Santa & Co DSP (SU retired)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Marina Mist

Hello Friend for Friday Mashup!

Whew, what a week it's been! I went to the eye doctor on Weds and found out I get to get bifocals, yeah me LOL I've never worn glasses before so this will be a change for me! On Weds I also had to take my husband to get a rental car....on his way home Tues night a young moose jumped out in front of him and he hit it. The moose and our Ford Escape did not survive the collision, although thankfully my husband is just fine! Hubby did come home with a new car tonight but I'll share that in a few more days :)

Believe it or not but the insurance co totaled the car! She was a good car, lots of great memories the last 8 yrs. RIP!
Moose hair stuck in the front end and the windshield :( We're thankful hubby didn't have any of the kids as passengers when he hit the moose. There are glass fragments all over the inside of the car.

A great thing about Friday is the  Friday Mashup! The challenge now runs for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time to Mash it Up....heck, play along with us several times if you can! This week at The Friday Mashup we have a color challenge, plus we want you to use any shimmer based item on your would be Wink of Stella, Shimmer Paint, watercolors, etc. Unfortunately the only Wink of Stella I have right now is a bright red, my clear ran out, so I did not mash it up this week :(

On my card I used the top 2 colors and then the 4th color....I translated them into the SU colors Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride.

My card base is Blushing Bride and on that I used one of the stamps from the SU Gorgeous Grunge set and stamped it in Blushing Bride across the base. I used a circle from the MFT Zig Zag Stitched set and stamped the "Hello" in Bermuda Bay and the "friend" in Melon Mambo. I created the banners with some retired SU DSP.

Make sure you head over to The Friday Mashup blog to see what the rest of the DT created and then play along with us!

This week's Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a Project using 3 or more Colors pictured above and a Neutral of your Choice.
  • Create a Project using a Shimmer based product.. Watercolors, Shimmer Paints or sprays, Wink of Stella etc....
  • or Mash it Up and create a Shimmery project using 3 or more of the Colors above.
